Chapter 2002: Chapter 2012: What the Makeup Artist Hesitated to Say
The director stayed put until she finished applying the setting powder, showing no intention of leaving. The makeup artist was anxious inside but couldn’t find an opportunity to finish what she had started saying, and she was also afraid Olivia Lewis might ask her in front of the director what she wanted to say earlier.
Amidst her anxiety and worry, the setting was completed.
"Finally done, Ms. Lewis. Everything outside is ready, just waiting for you. I’ll be waiting for you outside, hurry up, okay?" The director stepped to the doorway and waited there.
Olivia Lewis stood up, glanced at the visibly uneasy makeup artist, opened her mouth, and softly asked, "What did you want to tell me earlier? What’s wrong with this commercial?"
The makeup artist hesitated, looking at her, then sneaked a glance at the director standing right at the door, bit her lower lip, and after some hesitation, shook her head and said, "Noth... nothing."
She didn’t dare to say it. If she told Olivia Lewis now, the director would surely know it was her who leaked the information.
This circle isn’t that big nor that small, but she cannot afford to offend these people.
Olivia Lewis gave her a strange look, feeling the makeup artist was hiding something from her.
But the director urged her from outside, so she had no choice but to leave.
This time, she accepted a chocolate commercial. This chocolate brand is considered a high-end brand among similar chocolates, and the brand has invested heavily in its promotion. Their chocolate commercials are often seen on TV, and for a star, it’s considered a form of exposure.
So, in the entertainment industry, the endorsement commercial for this brand is considered a coveted prize among female stars.
Olivia Lewis didn’t even know how Sunny managed to help her land this commercial under such circumstances, but she was, of course, willing to work when there was work to do.
Without work, where would she get the money to eat? She couldn’t possibly use Adam Sinclair’s money, could she?
She thought about Adam Sinclair’s mom and silently dismissed the idea.
Forget it, relying on the heavens, the earth, or a man isn’t as good as relying on oneself!
"Ms. Lewis, you should have read the commercial script, right? This commercial is about a girl who goes through a breakup and, during the breakup process, coincidentally meets the male protagonist. The male protagonist gives her a box of chocolates, she eats the chocolate, feels a heartbeat, and then looks at the male protagonist with a smile and holds his hand." The director, sitting behind the camera, said, "You’re going to film the breakup part, and there’s a scene where a basin of water pours over the female protagonist’s head, highlighting the female protagonist’s miserable state... Ms. Lewis, do you understand?"
What does he mean by she’s going to film the breakup part?
Olivia Lewis frowned slightly, feeling that this sentence sounded odd.
But out of professionalism, she still said, "I don’t remember this being in the script."
"Oh, maybe it wasn’t clearly written in the script. There is indeed this scene in the commercial." The director said nonchalantly, as if he had truly forgotten. He looked at her with some impatience and asked, "Ms. Lewis, can you film this? We’ve waited so long. Let’s hurry up, or we won’t be able to shoot it today either."
Olivia Lewis held herself back and said, "I can film it!"
"Good, stand over there."
He turned around and immediately instructed the on-site staff, "Okay, get ready, everyone in position."
"Lights, aim there—"
Olivia Lewis stood there.
The director, shooting from the side, watched the camera, extending his fingers to count down, "3, 2, 1!"
