Chapter 2554 - 2563: The Reason He’d Rather Drink Himself to Death Than Speak

Chapter 2554: Chapter 2563: The Reason He’d Rather Drink Himself to Death Than Speak

On the table, there were two bottles of XO, a set of twelve depth charges, and a few cocktails.

Not to mention the variety of drinks, just the sheer amount is enough to give someone alcohol poisoning.

His so-called alternative was worse than saying nothing at all; it was practically forcing August Oliver to give a reason.

This was a band issue, and Anna couldn’t butt in, so she turned her head to watch the silent man. In fact, she, like everyone else, wanted an explanation from August Oliver — to explain why he disappeared a while ago and what’s going on now.

Under the gaze of a few people, the man who had been silent the entire time expressionlessly strode towards the drink table, picked up a bottle of XO, pulled out the cork, and started drinking with his head tilted back...

The liquor from the bottle flowed gurglingly down, quickly turning August Oliver’s pale profile a shade of pink, and before long, he had downed the entire bottle.

He didn’t pause for a second, grabbing the second bottle and drinking it down again.

Anna watched his silent, reckless drinking with pain in her heart. No matter how badly she wanted to know the reason, she didn’t care anymore. She was the first to rush over and try to stop him with her hand, "Stop drinking, don’t drink anymore. You can’t handle alcohol to begin with; drinking this much, are you trying to ruin your stomach?"

Annan, knowing well that August Oliver’s drinking capacity was poor and that he would get drunk even with a little, said, "Let him drink. Don’t think you can play this card and get away with it. If he doesn’t want to talk, let him drink it all. Once he’s finished drinking, I won’t ask anymore."

Anna stomped her foot in frustration, "Annan!"

After the second bottle of XO, August Oliver didn’t hesitate before reaching for the depth charges. One gulp per glass, and in no time, he had downed seven or eight glasses, with his complexion turning from pink to flushed red.

Annan was already getting unsteady, his eyes starting to waver.

Anna was even more anxious, almost crying, "Enough, do you want to force him to death? You have sacrificed for the band, but hasn’t he? Who locked themselves up day and night writing songs for the band to release an album? Who took on disliked ads and magazine deals, sacrificing for the band’s growth? He’s given more than anyone else. If he doesn’t want to talk, why force him? What good would knowing do? Can knowing solve his problems? I can’t, so I just want him to be okay. I believe one day he’ll tell me why he left."

Annan tightened his jaw, but didn’t say a word, his conflicted expression betraying him.

He was hesitating...

But it was too late.

The depth charges on the table were already finished, leaving only three cocktails. August Oliver picked them up and, as if he hadn’t heard Anna and the others’ conversation, drained them in one go.

All the drinks on the table were gone.

With one hand, he supported himself on the table, placing down the empty cocktail glass, and looked up, his dark eyes like stars, towards Annan and the others, "I’ve finished drinking, can I leave now?"

Annan didn’t expect him to actually finish drinking everything, and seeing his discomfort, felt regret. Yet, he awkwardly said, "Go, go then, it’s not like your heart is here anyway, we can’t keep you!"

August Oliver gave a circle of apologetic glances at them, casually wiped the wine stains from the corner of his mouth, and staggered out of the small bar.
