Chapter 2560: Chapter 2569: Open the Door, I’m Outside Your House
With August Oliver this drunk, she couldn’t just stay here waiting for him to wake up. She had no idea when he would come around.
Olivia Lewis thought it over and decided it was too dangerous to leave him in the living room. She managed to rouse him, helped him into the bedroom, and after laying him on the bed, she went to the bathroom to fetch a damp towel to place on his flushed forehead.
Judging by August Oliver’s state, he’d clearly had quite a bit to drink.
Leaving him to stay at her place like this wasn’t very convenient.
But with August Oliver’s popularity now, what could she do with him? Ha!
Olivia decided to call Annan and the others.
Given the current situation outside, aside from Annan and them, she didn’t trust leaving August Oliver with anyone else. She had interacted with Annan and the others before, and they truly cared for August Oliver, genuinely treating him as a friend. If Annan and the others came to look after him, it would not only prevent her from being alone with August Oliver but also make it easier to take care of him.
After all, she really wasn’t skilled at taking care of people.
Even though she had already given August Oliver some stomach medicine and hangover medicine, she wasn’t sure what else she could do.
Once the thought came to her, Olivia acted decisively and made a call to Annan. At first, Annan was hemming and hawing on the other end of the line, but after hearing that August Oliver drank until his stomach hurt, Annan immediately agreed to come over.
After calling Annan, Olivia felt much more relaxed.
She was humming a tune as she tossed her phone onto the sofa, completely forgetting to switch it back to airplane mode.
Just as she tossed it down, the phone rang.
"Darn it." Just as Olivia was about to tidy up, she thought the call was from Sunny. She was about to grab the phone and switch it back to airplane mode when she realized it wasn’t Sunny calling, but Adam Sinclair. She thought for a moment and answered, "Hello?"
"Why weren’t you reachable earlier when I tried calling?" Adam’s voice was calm and charming.
Olivia silently thought, ’That’s because I put my phone on airplane mode,’ but she said out loud, "Maybe the signal was bad. Why are you calling me? Are you done with work?"
"I’m back, just letting you know."
Adam had gone on a business trip a couple of days ago, and according to what he previously told her, he wasn’t supposed to be back until the day after tomorrow.
Olivia’s heart skipped a beat, feeling inexplicably guilty, "Oh, that’s quick. Well, you should go and get some rest."
"I’m planning to rest well, haven’t really rested these past couple of days." Adam sounded tired.
Olivia could almost see his weary appearance, "You should hurry back, once you’re well-rested, I’ll treat you to dinner."
"No need, you can treat me to dinner now."
"What do you mean?"
How could she treat him now?
On the other end, the person chuckled softly, with a gentle, indulgent tone, "Open the door, I’m outside your place."
"Whoa—" Crap!
Olivia stopped herself from swearing at the last moment and awkwardly said, "Are you kidding me, there’s no way you’re outside my place. I’m not home."
"I can hear you talking inside..."
Olivia wished she could slap herself. Emma, why did you have to talk so loudly on the phone?
Her heart was pounding as she had this surreal feeling like a wife about to be caught in bed by a husband back from a business trip. Imagining the possibility of hiding August Oliver in a closet, she swiftly ran to the bedroom, speaking hurriedly, "I just finished showering, give me a moment, I’ll change and open the door. Five minutes!"
