Chapter 2561: Chapter 2570: It’s Spring—How Did You Get Heatstroke?
"You can just..."
"Okay, okay, not talking to you about this, I’ll come down, in as fast as five minutes." Olivia hurriedly hung up the phone, fearing Adam would say to just open the door for him. She then scurried around the house for a bit, pondering deeply, and decided to call Enna Clark for help on what to do in this situation.
"Beep beep beep..." The busy tone on the phone rang over a dozen times, but there was no sound of the call being answered. Olivia, too anxious to wait any longer, hung up. "What’s going on? Enna wouldn’t still be asleep this late, would she? I’m doomed! Oh right, Bobby!"
Just as she was about to dial again, she silently canceled the call, "No, Bobby is still just a child. I can’t taint the pure heart of a child with this mess!"
None of the outside help could be used, and Olivia watched as the time for her phone calls was passing; it had already been two minutes. If she delayed much longer, Adam, waiting outside the door, would become suspicious. Biting her lip, her eyes scanned the room until they landed on the corner where Adam had once gifted her a giant teddy bear. A bright idea struck her; she hurriedly pulled the teddy bear onto the bed to slightly cover the person under the covers. Then she retrieved a breathable dress from her previously discarded clothes basket and draped it over August Oliver’s face, "Amen, August, you must not be discovered, if you are found, we’re finished."
After handling all that, Olivia deliberately closed the door before going outside, took a deep breath, and opened the door.
Adam Sinclair had waited seven or eight minutes outside, and upon seeing her come out, a trace of surprise flashed on his handsome face as he looked her up and down.
Olivia was hiding a big secret inside now; his gaze made her extremely uneasy, so she feigned bravado, "Why are you looking at me? Haven’t you seen me before?"
Adam’s deep gaze fixed on her face, asking in surprise, "Didn’t you just say you had just showered?"
"I did just shower." Three hours ago she had just showered.
This shouldn’t count as lying, right...
As Adam started entering the room, he commented, "I was just surprised; how did you manage to do your makeup right after showering? And your clothes, are you heading out?"
Makeup?
Emma, how did she forget about that?
All blame lies with his unexpected arrival; she had been caught completely off guard. She only had time to hide the "lover" in the room, completely forgetting that she didn’t look like she had just showered.
Olivia’s heart skipped a beat, her heartbeat missed a beat. Trailing behind, she swiftly scrutinized his expression, seeing he wasn’t particularly suspicious, she calmed down a bit and started ad-libbing, "Sister Sunny asked me to go to the office for a bit, but since you’ve arrived, I called Sister Sunny and told her I wasn’t going."
Adam, exhausted after several busy days, leaned wearily against the sofa, rubbed his temples, opened his eyes suddenly, his gaze falling upon a medicine box on the table, looking at her with concern, he frowned and asked, "Are you not feeling well? Why not go to the hospital?"
He took out his phone, about to make a call, "I’ll ask Sister Sunny to come over and take you to the hospital for a check-up."
Olivia hurriedly rushed over to press down his phone, "No need, Sister Sunny is busy and doesn’t have time now. I’m just a bit heat-stricken, much better after taking some medicine."
"You got heatstroke?" Adam raised his eyebrows, looking at her in surprise, "It’s spring now, how did you get heatstroke?"
