Chapter 2609: Chapter 2618: Passing By and Saw You Having Coffee
Adam Sinclair narrowed his eyes slightly, raising an eyebrow with an ambiguous smile, "I remember this coffee shop seems to be a property of the Oscar Group."
In other words, ’This isn’t your place, so why do you care why I’m here.’
"I also remember this doesn’t belong to the Sinclair Group’s properties." August Oliver’s eyes flared with anger, responding coldly.
The air between them was thick with tension!
Adam initiated a playful smile, "This place isn’t part of the Sinclair Corporation, but the land is owned by the Sinclair Corporation. Director Oliver didn’t know?"
August furrowed his brows, "..."
Adam tactfully shifted his gaze from him to Olivia Lewis beside him, "You texted me to wait outside for you, I’ve been waiting half a day, you didn’t come out, so I had to come in."
Olivia was baffled, "..." When did she send him a text?
Adam’s deep-set eyes were like a dark pool, threatening to suck her in, suppressing anger with a smile on his handsome face, "Why are you still standing there? Didn’t we agree to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony together? The car is already waiting outside, and Dad is there too."
If Olivia couldn’t see he was saying this on purpose in front of August Oliver, she’d be blind. Her mind raced, quickly deciding to go along with his act. She immediately picked up her bag next to her, apologizing to the stern-looking man, "Sorry, August, my boyfriend and I planned to attend an event at his family’s. I have to leave now. Please tell Director Leigh about the script."
August looked deeply at her, his left hand clenched tightly into a fist at his side, his stern face revealing no emotional fluctuation, "Alright. Think it over, I’ll keep the script until the end of the month."
Olivia wanted to say it wasn’t necessary, she’d already decided. But seeing someone’s clenched eyes and barely suppressed anger, she didn’t waste any more time, vaguely agreeing, "I understand, I’ll consider it again when I get back."
"Leaving now. Bye."
"Bye."
Adam’s temple throbbed intensely, his patience slipping as he pursed his thin lips, reminding her, "Let’s go."
"Oh." Olivia walked around August Oliver, jogging to join him.
Adam turned around, dropping the smile he’d worn facing August Oliver, his handsome face taut, extending his hand to hers, pulling her out of the coffee shop.
The sound of wind chimes at the coffee shop’s door rang out clearly.
Olivia’s nerves finally relaxed as she stepped out of the coffee shop, turning in surprise to the tall man beside her, "Adam, how did you know I was here? You startled me just now."
"Passing by, saw you having coffee." His voice was stiff, as if squeezed through his teeth.
He had just argued with Benjamin Sinclair in the car when he caught a glimpse of Olivia and August Oliver outside the car window, prompting him to ask the driver to stop and bring her out.
Seeing his sour expression, Olivia could tell he was angry, and she blinked her beautiful eyes, voluntarily linking her arm with his, nudging him slightly, and smiling, "That was unexpected. I promise. You know the person who arranged to meet me—Director Leigh. Leigh called saying he had a script perfect for me, asked me to take a look. We met here, but when I arrived, it was August instead of him."
