"Seal."
Sun Wukong casually created a rune and sealed the Heavenly Dog.
"My wise brother."
Immortal Zhenyuan ascended to find Sun Wukong.
"It's over."
Sun Wukong handed him the horsetail whisk, "The sun inside the Heavenly Dog is still there. Take it back; Shouma Ren knows how to extract it."
"Alright."
Immortal Zhenyuan took the Buddha Dust, looking curiously at the two Taoists.
"What business do you have with me?"
Sun Wukong asked the Taoists.
"Our master has invited you, wishing to pass on the Supreme Dao to the Heavenly Emperor."
The male Taoist said, cupping his hands.
"Doesn't that mean he wants to take my wise brother as a disciple?"
Immortal Zhenyuan almost laughed.
*Who in this world would dare to take Sun Wukong as a disciple?*
"Wise brother, don't bother with them. Let's go back and drink."
Immortal Zhenyuan said.
"No, I have to meet this person."
Sun Wukong said.
The two Taoists felt overjoyed.
"We'll lead the way for you."
They said.
"No need, I know the place."
Sun Wukong shook his head and transformed into a beam of golden light, flying westward.
The others were left dumbfounded.
The two Daoists came to their senses and immediately followed suit.
To the west, beneath the Endless Sea, lay a vast expanse of white spiritual energy.
Here was the center of the Spirit Vein. Tens of thousands of years ago, a splendid flame descended from the heavens and took root here.
Tens of thousands of years later, the flame thrived and grew into a massive tree, radiating intense firelight and a peaceful aura.
Sun Wukong arrived here, seeing an old Taoist with crane-white hair, sitting under the tree.
Rich spiritual energy gathered towards the tree, transforming into strands of Immortal Light, which draped down from the canopy, showering the old Taoist.
The old Taoist sat cross-legged under the tree, emanating a powerful aura.
"You have arrived."
He saw Sun Wukong, and a surge of Immortal Light burst forth from within him, with various fragments of stone floating in the air.
Sun Wukong stepped forward, "I have arrived."
"Just as well."
The old Taoist extended a finger, pointing silently and invisibly, enveloping Sun Wukong in a terrifying aura.
At that moment, a killing intent swept in like a rain of swords, surging into Sun Wukong's body.
In an instant, the Spirit Vein before Sun Wukong transformed.
It was a dark land, shrouded in smoke, with mountains of corpses and seas of blood, leaving no one unscathed.
*Such a scene was terrifying, laced with deadly intent, enough to shatter the will of a Heavenly Immortal.*
Sun Wukong's pupils contracted, and he was also impacted.
The killing intent continued to assault him.
Sun Wukong's expression grew grim, and suddenly the Divine Ring behind him flared, with golden light shooting skyward.
This was a towering power, instantly dispersing the old man's killing intent, causing his finger to explode with a loud crash.
The killing intent receded like a tide.
"Truly a born War God."
The old Taoist thought to himself, *Sun Wukong was even stronger than he had imagined.*
The old Taoist looked at Sun Wukong, eyes deep and shimmering with divine light, able to draw in one's soul.
Sun Wukong's entire body shone with brilliant golden light, meeting the old Taoist's gaze, like a deity overlooking his subjects.
*This was the majesty cultivated over a long time.*
The old Taoist's heart trembled, gradually conceding—Sun Wukong was the Heavenly Emperor, he would never submit to another.
*He could not subdue him.*
*What he thought was a seed of hope had already sprouted.*
The old Taoist's heart was a mixture of joy and sorrow, finally turning into a sigh.
"Daoist friend..."
He flung his long sleeves, revealing a table, a chair, and a cup of tea beneath the tree.
"Please sit."
The old Taoist said.
He originally intended to take Sun Wukong as a disciple, but now he no longer mentioned it.
*Daoist friend, this was the best term of address.*
Sun Wukong sat down on the wooden chair.
He noticed that the old Taoist's body was connected to the tree, unable to leave.
*So, that's how it was.*
Sun Wukong understood everything.
"You are not of this world."
Sun Wukong said, "You are just a flame, a form of obsession."
The old Taoist was neither human nor demon and had no true soul.
*He was a flame carrying an obsession.*
Sun Wukong had never seen such a flame before; because it burned to the extreme, it appeared pure white.
"Who was your true form?"
Sun Wukong asked.
"The Brahma Void Heavenly Court had a million Immortals and gods, one Emperor, and four Venerables. I was a wisp of flame from Nan Ming Heavenly Venerate, one of the four Venerables."
The old Taoist answered, "After Nan Ming Heavenly Venerate was slain by the Venerable Tathāgata, I was left behind in this place."
Sun Wukong felt a bit regretful, "So the Heavenly Court was truly destroyed?"
"It was destroyed."
The old Taoist nodded, "As strong as the Heavenly Emperor was, he could not escape from the hands of the Venerable."
"Is this world's technology derived from the Heavenly Court?"
Sun Wukong asked further.
"I am not aware."
The old Taoist shook his head, the Brahma Void Heavenly Court managed three hundred worlds. How could he know about the Wilderness?
But this world was not far from the Heavenly Court. If Heavenly Court's technology fell here and gave birth to knowledge, it would not be surprising.
Sun Wukong continued his questioning, but the old Taoist truly did not retain much memory concerning this world.
When he came to this world, he stayed in the Spirit Vein, training two disciples and not concerning himself with anything else.
Sun Wukong could only shift the topic to the Heavenly Court, "Why was the Brahma Void Heavenly Court destroyed?"
"It was inevitable."
The old Taoist said solemnly.
"What inevitability?"
Sun Wukong asked.
"In Chaos, any living being who steps out of Chaos will eventually be found by the Venerable."
The old Taoist seemed to return to a past nightmare, his voice trembled, "He was too strong, we were utterly powerless to resist him."
*Sun Wukong was secretly shocked.*
*What kind of immense power did that Venerable possess? Since ancient times, no one had ever surpassed him?*
But according to the old Taoist, encountering the Venerable was only a matter of time for Sun Wukong.
Sun Wukong's heart grew somewhat heavy.
*Not only him, but even the Three Realms might be in danger.*
"I must become stronger."
*Sun Wukong's mind flashed this thought.*
"Sun Wukong, you embrace all living things and have already saved several worlds."
At this moment, the old Taoist looked at Sun Wukong, "Could you make a journey to the Heavenly Court?"
Sun Wukong frowned slightly, "What is there to do?"
*Wasn't the Heavenly Court already gone?*
As if anticipating Sun Wukong's question, the old Taoist said, "Although the Heavenly Court is destroyed, amongst the three hundred worlds under its rule, surely some beings have survived."
He bowed to Sun Wukong, "Now that all the Immortals of the Heavenly Court are extinguished, we are failing the living beings. Could you take them under your care?"
*This was originally the duty of the Immortals of the Heavenly Court, but they had all perished. Left with just one strand of obsession, the old Taoist could do nothing.*
Sun Wukong was silent.
"Only you can accomplish this task."
The old Taoist continued, "If you agree, you could reconstruct the Heavenly Court, and you will surely not regret it."
A radiant light flew from his body, suspended in the air.
"This is the Cursor. It can lead you to the Heavenly Court."
The old Taoist said.
Sun Wukong looked at the Cursor for a long while before finally reaching out and grasping it.
"I'll go."
He said.
Although the Brahma Void Heavenly Court was destroyed, what it left behind could surely be of help to him.
"Very good."
The old Taoist sighed in relief, "I can depart with peace of mind now."
Sun Wukong nodded.
The old Taoist had lived on through obsession, long past his limits.
"I entrust my two disciples to you as well."
After saying this, the old Taoist's obsession dissipated, and his body turned into a flame and vanished.
Sun Wukong turned around, and the male and female Taoists stood there.
"You all..."
Sun Wukong put away the Cursor, "Are you willing to follow me and rebuild the Brahma Void Heavenly Court?"
"We shall heed your command!"
The two Taoists said with cupped hands in response.
