This chapter is dedicated to explaining the situation to my returning readers, and showing exactly where I've changed things.
Love yall!
Beacon from Beyond is my first story and, as such, I could have improved greatly on my early chapters, stylistically. I decided to do a large rewrite of the story, closer to a detailed edit than actually changing anything.
The plot will stay the same, it will simply be smoother to read now and there are some portions where I've added certain details that people wanted to see earlier in the story, rather than having to wait a long time for it to come to fruition.
Initially, I'd intended to just re-release the entire book again so that returning readers wouldn't have to wait for newer chapters, but I've been told by 4 separate authors that if I do that, the book will be completely buried for algorithm reasons.
Worry not though, returning readers. I don't intend to take a super long time in getting everyone caught up either. One month at the maximum is my goal, and I'm going to "store" chapters depending on how long I take so I can continue at a rapid pace until I'm caught up with my usual schedule.
Basically, if it takes a month to release, I'll release a month-worth of chapters when the rewrite is done, so that returning readers will have a large chunk of new material instead of having to do yet more waiting.
That being said! My official re-release is on the 25th, so even though the initial drop is on the 21st, the countdown for banking chapters will start on the 25th.
I won't make you all pick through old material just to get to the newer gems, so here is a list of all changes. Bold means I recommend returning viewers read this section.
I've kept things vague to avoid spoilers
Prologue: redone AGAIN to make perspective swaps easier. I promise it's probably the last time guys! (This is like the 8th time btw)
