A convoy of four vehicles continued their journey.

The last fifty kilometers, originally less than a three-hour journey, took nearly four hours.

The closer they got to the Taishan Ruins, the more bumpy and rugged the road became. Occasionally, they encountered uphill sections where they had to floor the gas pedal to climb or send someone out to push from behind.

Moreover, according to the predetermined route, they would have to bypass the Taishan Shelter, which formed Fallen Wolf Valley, taking a large detour to reach Feicheng Shelter on the western side of the mountain range.

This added over ten kilometers to the journey.

Chen Shanshan followed suit, exposing her license.

Seeing the Guild Silver Badge the two took out, Zheng Yan Ying was a bit surprised, nodded, and led them towards the tunnel entrance.

Nearing the makeshift camp of broken cars, some Deserters with sun-darkened skin eyed the trio very cautiously.

This group differs from the Deserters near Oasis Town.

Though sun-darkened, they aren't dazed and weak. Their condition and capability are even better than the Permanent Residents in the village.

Most have Late Stage enhanced strength. Lin Feng also saw several Early-stage Evolvers lying on chairs.

Strength-wise, they are similar to the Desert Hunting Team; the only difference is in attire and weaponry, which have diverse styles lacking uniformity.
