Chapter 2054: 24.315 Sixth Violet Star - Death of Gu Yang

Long Juedi and his team were still heading to the proper exit that will lead them to the borders when suddenly the dwarfs that were with them noticed something was wrong above their heads. They collectively felt that whatever is happening aboveground is affecting their journey underground especially as they walk through the tunnels, it suddenly started shaking as if there was an earthquake.

The whole tunnel had suddenly shaken but not the aggressive kind when an earthquake directly strikes at one area. Instead, it felt like something big was walking above their heads. If they are above ground then this kind of shaking is not something worrying after they only need to stay away from the source. Unfortunately, they are underground with a part of the earth hollowed allowing them to walk through it, there is a possibility of the land above them collapsing.

The dwarfs are masters that can control the land and they are sensitive to movements on earth. So the moment they felt the presence of that unknown thing above them they were immediately worried and instinctively fortified the land above their heads. The other children were panicking as well.

They are now preventing the whole tunnel from collapsing above them and if they lose concentration then they would definitely get buried here and now.

Long Juedi with a serious face asked, "What is happening!?"

"Not only this tunnel but all the other tunnels leading to the borders are being destroyed. There is something happening above ground we cannot stay here. We might get buried if this continues," said Dwarf Princess Shika, her face now pale with most of her muscles exposed.

Long Juedi asked, "Are we half way to the borders!?"

"Yes! It’s actually more than half. Do we need to open a path connected aboveground?" Dwarf Princess Shika asked. But not here, the one causing this weight increase is a distorted monster and it seems to be chasing on someone. It’s him! He is still alive!"

"Who are you talking about!?" Nan Jiang asked.

The princess of the dwarf race, Shika responded. "It’s Gu Yang!"

"Gu Yang!?" Everyone collectively said. "He is still alive!?"

No one expected Gu Yang to still be alive. When the Beast Taming Academy was attacked by the beast race from the barren land through space portals, he disappeared with his father, Marshal Gu Ying. A lot from the human race had also died when the traitor caused chaos in the alliance city causing it to fall. They thought that among them is Gu Yang as they’ve never seen them since that day they left with the beastmen race who came to pick up Princess Haerin and Long Juedi.

Haerin said, "What kind of monster is chasing him? Why would he suddenly appear here!?"

Sadly, no one was able to answer the question of Princess Haerin as a lot of things had happened for them to care about others. Moreover, Gu Yang never had a good relationship with any of them. There is also the fact that his father, the Human Marshal is the traitor of the human race and most likely replaced by that unknown being. They were actually more surprised to hear that he is still alive at this point.

"But why is he being chased by a monster?"

"My dear friends! How about leaving here first!? I no longer have enough strength to bear this mountain-like weight!!" Princess Shika from the Dwarf Race said.

Everyone looked at Long Juedi waiting for him to make a decision. He is actually their leader and the one who made most of the decision. The question of whether to save Gu Yang was left for him to choose. But one thing is for sure, they could no longer stay underground at this rate.

Long Juedi after thinking for a while said, "Let’s go to the surface!"

Gu Yang is currently wounded while being chased by some kind of distorted monster that loves to eat flesh and blood. His left hand was eaten by it when he was caught off guard as it suddenly jumped on him. Moreover, this monster doesn’t seem that picky, it ate everything on its path. Running through the forest while leaving a trail of blood on his path, Gu Yang was almost out of breath but he didn’t want to die here. He still wants to save his father who was taken over by some kind of monster. Just this determination from him alone is what allowed him to tolerate the pain of his lost arm and keep running just to save his life.

"As long as I reach the borders I will survive! I still haven’t saved my father yet. I refuse to die here!" Gu Yang’s thoughts while running away.

However, as if the heavens weren’t on his side, he tripped so badly that he rolled down on some down slope. Not only a few more fresh wounds appeared on his body, he even twisted his right leg and cried out in pain.

Rolling down the slope, Gu Yang hit his back on a large rock and hit his head and it started bleeding. With a bit of his blurry eyes, he looked as that gooey monster approached him.

His mind was in chaos as he panics unfortunately with the pain spreading in his body, his blurring sight and numbness spreading in some part of his body, Gu Yang was regretting everything. His life flashes before his eyes. His happy childhood, his mother’s death from the beast wave, him going to school meeting the students of the S-Class and the faces of his classmates he chose not to get along with. Now that he stood before the brink of death, he regrets not having someone by his side.

He didn’t have friends. He had enemies at all places. He didn’t even get along with his classmates in the academy and he never considered himself as a part of their group. Only now that he is about to die, alone and lonely, that he regrets not even making one friend. There is also the failure of saying his father was taken over by that unknown being and the sudden hate for the world itself.

His thoughts as everything before him had turned slow motion. ’Why is it only me? I know I am not a good person but I do not kill innocent people and never drag down anyone with me. I don’t have friends and now I can’t even save my father.’

’Am I going to die like this?’

’I can’t accept this! I don’t want to die!!’

At the last moment of his life, a few words were spoken by him, "Someone... save me!"

Seeing the monster getting closer to him, after his chaotic thoughts, what was in his mind in the end is just emptiness and just acceptance to death.

’Forget about it. I give up,’ These are the last thoughts of Gu Yang as his head was bitten by the monster in front of him.

Long Juedi and the rest just escaped from the tunnel and witnessed the scene of that disgusting monster biting off Gu Yang’s head before their eyes. They tried to save him but in the end, it was already too late. The ladies were terrified by the scene and instinctively covered their eyes while screaming.

As for the young men, all their faces were grim and ugly. They actually arrived too late and appeared in front of the monster who took its time eating Gu Yang’s body after his head. Now they have been targeted, they felt immediate danger when they met eyes with this unknown monster that looked grotesque, gooey and made up of unknown beings as if it was some kind of failure experiment resulting in the birth of a monster that eats all living beings in existence.
