Death… And Me

Chapter 3718: We Will Do Our Best!

Chapter 3718: We Will Do Our Best!

Taliana was shocked beyond recognition. If she didn’t understand it before, she definitely does now. Rean is absolutely not someone she can beat. "You! You are not a Void Tempering Realm expert! You must be in the Divinity Realm!"

Rean shrugged. "I’m actually two stages away from the Divinity Realm, pretty much the same Middle Stage of the Space-Time Realm as you." Well, Rean was actually in the Sky Space-Time Realm, but he wouldn’t tell her that, and she wouldn’t understand what that meant either.

"Bullshit!" Taliana could see Rean’s cultivation now while she rubbed her butt. Rean used his Sky Energy and even a little bit of Roan’s Dark Element when he slapped her there. She simply couldn’t get rid of the pain in the short term. Still, she believed Rean was hiding his cultivation even now. "If you were in the Space-Time Realm, you would never be able to move that fast! Even in the Ermmel Clan, you wouldn’t find someone like you."

Rean didn’t really mind whether she believed or not, though. "In any case, I’m right here. As per the agreement, you can kill anytime you want." He then raised his hand. "Of course, you better get your butt prepared for the consequences. No wait! Perhaps you liked it?"

"Your ass!" Taliana bellowed before she pulled out an item from her Pocket Dimensional Realm. It looked like a nail, but it carried a power that made Rean narrow his eyes. She pressed it with her hand, and then the nail shot forward!

Rean immediately dodged... just for the nail somehow warp space and actually appear right in front of him! "These Celestial Realm Level Treasures are truly annoying..."

*Zup!*

*Clang!*

Two Elemental Intent Swords appeared, blocking the nail in the last moment. The nail was faster than Rean, and it contained traces of the Celestial Laws of Earth. Rean wasn’t afraid, though. This was already the third treasure carrying Celestial Laws Rean had seen so far. In fact, this one was weaker than the previous two.

One was the Statue that the Semi-Celestial Realm Expert used back in the Lisan Universe. The other was the Golden Petal that the Hibiscus used in the Golden Palace. If Rean put them on a ranking, the statue was the strongest, and the golden petal the second. This one trailed quite far behind in third.

*Splash!*

Still, it was a Celestial Realm Treasure. Rean managed to stop it, but he was sent flying before falling into the lake.

"What?!" Taliana was terrified by what she saw. The Nail definitely hit Rean hard, and she could tell he broke several bones and was hurt by the Celestial Laws of Earth. However, he wasn’t killed, which she simply couldn’t believe! That was a life-saving treasure from the Ermmel Clan that carried a trace of their Universe Owner’s power!

Reliance also looked at that and felt just as terrified. "We nee-"

Kentucky raised his hand in front of Reliance, stopping him. "Why? It looks so fun, let them play."

"Play?" Reliance wondered if Kentucky had a problem. "That nail is-"

*Splash!*

Rean shot out of the lake, throwing water everywhere. Right in front of him, there was a nail that vibrated with intense power, but was being held in place by his two Elemental Intent Swords. "If every high-level expert of the Ermmel Clan has one of these, I totally understand why all races had to enter this war together. This thing is terrifying even against Divinity Realm Experts."

Light Element ran through Rean’s body as all his bones mended and the injures closed. As for the Celestial Laws of Earth, they were truly just a trace, so the Dark Element and laws were enough for Rean to get rid of them.

As Taliana felt paralyzed by that scene, the nail slowly lost its power, eventually stopping moving. As soon as it did, Rean’s Sword cut through it like a hot knife cutting butter. "It was truly nothing more than a simple nail. Yet, just the power and laws injected into it made it so strong. Still, that also explained why just a tiny trace of the Celestial Laws of Earth was present. Anything more, and the nail would have been destroyed."

Rean took the two parts of the broken nail, walking in Taliana’s direction. Taliana didn’t even try to run. She saw just how much faster Rean was. And if the nail couldn’t kill him, then she absolutely had nothing else that could, including her own strength. "Y-You! If you kill me, the Ermmel Clan will definitely investigate it!"

"Kill you?" Rean asked back while throwing the nail parts up and catching them repetitively. "You were just testing my strength, right? Why would I go as far as to kill you?"

"Tes...ting?" Taliana didn’t know what Rean was talking about. She definitely wanted to kill him just now. However... "Y-Yes! I was just testing you!"

Rean faintly smiled. "Does that mean you will work for us as a spy?"

Taliana vigorously nodded. "Of course! Of course! You held onto your part of the agreement, and after this... testing... I understood I simply don’t have the power to kill you."

"So she said," Rean looked at Reliance. "You are the Demon Beasts’ Representative, so you go ahead and make whatever deal you need. I’ll be watching."

Reliance looked at Kentucky. ’You knew he could do that, didn’t you?’

’But of course!’ Kentucky didn’t deny it. ’Compared to the other treasures of that kind we had to deal with in the past, that nail truly wasn’t much.’

"Ahem..." Reliance calmed down, now seeing that he actually had nothing to worry about anymore. "Then, please, let’s talk about it, Lady Taliana."

Taliana had to do as Reliance said, and the two began to discuss her role and the demon beasts’ role in this deal. Rean and Kentucky just observed from the side, not saying anything. Before meeting Kentucky’s parents, it was better not to get too involved in this.

In the end, Reliance got the information he initially came here to acquire, and it was decided he and Taliana would keep in contact through a secret channel of the Demon Beasts in the Humanoid Races Territory.

As for her payment for that information...

"Wait, really?" Reliance asked back, surprised to hear what she wanted.

Taliana didn’t back down, though. "That’s what I want. Find him for me and make sure he is safe."

Reliance didn’t understand. "Safe?"

"Safe!" Taliana insisted but didn’t explain. "And bring him to me!"

Reliance nodded in the end. "A-Alright... I will have the demon beasts in our territory look for him. But I can’t give you any guarantees."

"I’m aware," Taliana expected that. "But if you want more from me, you better put in the effort. Otherwise, I might as well just bite the bullet and give up. I won’t care even if you tell the clan about me."

Reliance definitely didn’t want that. "We will do our best."
