Chapter 3726: Coward
This time around, the one to return to the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm was actually Rean. Since it was now possible to come out of the Dimensional Realm by Kentucky’s side, Kentucky could take the job on his own.
The closest city was Puuston, although you couldn’t really call it a city, but more of a gathering hub for Demon Beasts. Compared to normal cities in the humanoid races’ side, this hub didn’t have a hundredth of the buildings you would find in the smallest humanoid cities.
Nonetheless, it still had some basic things, like the teleport formations, which were controlled by the Formations Guild. The Formations guild here was pretty much the same as the others all over the Universe. They kept a neutral stance and didn’t join any sides in the war.
Of course, this one had no humanoid race members. No, to be more specific, it had. It’s just that the few who were here before already left when that war started. It would be weird for them to be here since the Demon Beasts were fighting the humanoid races. Although not completely absent, you would be hard pressed to find humanoid race members here.
In the entire city, you could find a few million Demon Beasts, which was very little compared to the smallest cities of the humanoid races. Well, a lot of them went to the frontlines too. Nonetheless, it was still relatively crowded in the main streets.
Kentucky went straight to the Formations Guild, and he was received by one of the Formations Masters there. Looking inside, there were no more than thirty or so Demon Beast Formations Masters, truly a tiny number for a place like this. It couldn’t be helped. Demon Beasts have always been mostly reliant on their own power rather than technology and formations. Those who delved into such areas were few and far between.
"I want to take the teleport and go away from the war," Kentucky commented, this time looking like another type of Demon Bird.
The Demon Beast attending him felt troubled. "Sir, if you don’t select a destination, it will be hard to activate the formation. What if I give you the furthest option, which is also the most expensive?"
"That’s perfect!" Kentucky had no complaints at all. "How much is it to teleport as far away as possible from the borders?"
The Demon Beast was surprised to hear that, but answered quickly. "In that case, it would be the Demon Beast City of Colotia, found at the border of our continent, but on the opposite side of the border with the humanoid territories. The fee is 55 Rank Five Divine Stones."
Kentucky immediately pulled out the necessary Divine Stones and put them in the guy’s hand. "Good! Activate the formation!"
Kentucky didn’t even wait, jumping on one of the formations on the back of the teleport’s building. However...
"What are you doing here?!" Another Demon Beast entered the building, flying straight to Kentucky and landing in front of him. "Most of the Demon Beasts at the Transition Realm and above were sent to the frontlines! We are already down on numbers because of the Spirits, and you want to get away?"
Kentucky looked at the guy. It was a Demon Grapzou, a type of Demon Bird usually found near mountain ranges with rainy weather. From what Kentucky could see with his Divine Sense, this one was in the Divinity Realm Initial Stage. "And you are...?"
"I’m Skittles," the Demon Grapzou answered. "I’m in charge of the protection of this city to make sure it won’t get attacked while most of the Demon Beasts are at the battlefront."
"Well, Skittles, I have to tell you something." Kentucky made a pause, and his expression turned serious. It made Skittles wonder if Kentucky had a real reason to be leaving this fast. Unfortunately... the next words were nothing like what he expected.
"Sorry, I’m a coward!"
Kentucky spoke without a shred of shame. "When I saw the battle start, I knew that many would die, so I ran. You are a Demon Beast, right? Then you know that coward Demon Beasts, even though rare, will only make the situation worse. We worship strength, after all. Don’t worry, I’ll get as far from the battlefield as possible!"
All the Demon Beasts around looked at Kentucky with strange expressions. None of them had ever heard a Demon Beast calling himself a coward. Sure, they will flee if they see that the situation is hopeless. Everyone wants to live. However, to flee before even doing anything was not something you saw every day in the Demon Beast world.
"You are a disgrace to all Demon Beasts!" Skittles said while gritting his teeth.
"Exactly!" And Kentucky 100% agreed with him. "Anyway, activate the formation. A disgrace like me is not worth anyone’s time."
Rean was laughing out loud inside the Dimensional Realm. "That’s our Kentucky! Hahaha!"
The others looked at him. Was it really something to be proud of?
Skittles’ arm moved like lightning, changing back into a blue wing shape and hardening the feathers, aiming for Kentucky’s head. "Then you can be a coward in the next life!" His laws of Water gathered, a weird combination for a bird type. Yet, he seemed to know what he was doing, and the hardened wings became even sharper, covered in water laws and element.
*Clang!*
Yet, Kentucky’s hand also changed into a wing, and the scales and feather blades met Skittles’s wing! Kentucky easily stopped his attack! Even more impressive, Kentucky’s Feather Blades actually cut through Skittles’s hardened Feathers and almost reached his bones!
Kentucky didn’t use laws or elements, though. His Feather Blades were at a much higher level than Skittles, also... he used his Feather Blade Intent in the second stage!
Let’s not forget Kentucky learned to see his feathers as weapons, and after such a long session of cultivation and having Rean and Roan as examples, he reached the second stage. He was still much, much slower at comprehending it than the twins, but for a Demon Beast to have an intent, that was unheard of.
So... Skittles couldn’t understand at all how Kentucky cut his own Feathers with a cultivation lower than his own. "W-Who are you?"
"I told you," Kentucky smiled. "I’m a coward."
