Death… And Me

Chapter 4249: Regret

Chapter 4249: Regret

Following the return to the Godly Subjugation Guild, Clayton showed them where they could take the missions. "You don’t really need to come to the guild to do this, though. The Guild is connected to most of the powers of the Besgol Region. Even back in the sect, you could take these missions posted here. The sect has its own missions as well, so you actually have more options there. I just wanted to show you the Godly Creatures they keep imprisoned here before anything else."

Rean liked it. "You did the right thing. It’s just that you didn’t expect us to be sent to battle due to a sudden Godly Creatures Wave. Now we don’t really need to see the Creatures they keep here anymore."

Clayton was happy they thought like that. "Thank you, seniors. So, shall we go back to the sect? I have to show you your accommodations. Just be aware that compared to your majestic palaces that you probably lived in back in your Home Great Voids, you won’t get anything like that here."

Gootiu and the twins didn’t mind it. "It’s fine. After so many years, those places have become quite boring anyway."

At the end of the day, the Guild was all about defending against the Godly Creatures. You didn’t have much to learn or gain in there. At least nothing that you couldn’t already have in the Wangamiglia Sect anyway. The Guild was necessary, of course, especially for those who weren’t part of any powers. In that case, they used the Guild to take their missions or make their reports. Let’s not forget that no one can leave the Besgol Region without reporting to the Guild first. Those were the rules.

Returning to the sect, Rean and Roan could tell that Kentucky and Celis were there as well due to their connection. Still, they let those two do as they pleased and followed Clayton for the time being.

"Alright, Seniors. We have residences for the various races. Should we go where the Spirits stay first or where the humanoid races live?" Clayton asked.

"Please show the Spirits first," Gootiu asked. "I’m completely drained after that introduction to the Godly Creatures. I need to recover. I hope friends Rean and Roan won’t mind it."

Rean and Roan nodded. "That’s fine."

Clayton then led the group to the sect’s Spirits’ District. You could find many types of Spirits there, including some Rean and Roan that they had never seen before. Of course, this was still the residential area of the Inner Disciples, so this place was actually better than the residential area for outer disciples for Spirits too.

The Spirits’ Districts were the smallest in the sect, whether for the Inner or Outer Spirit Disciples. Not that they were ostracized, of course. It’s just that Spirits were still Spirits. The conditions for them to be born are much harder to meet than for other races. So... there just aren’t as many Spirits as the rest of the races.

Clayton finally guided Rean and Roan to the district of the Humanoid Races. Naturally, other than normal humans like Rean and Roan, there were other races as well. Simple humans were just a small part of the total.

However, Rean and Roan noticed something as they walked through the streets there. Quite a few eyes seemed to recognize them, which didn’t make much sense. "Have we become famous or something like that?"

Clayton was just as puzzled. "Not that I know." He saw another Outer Disciple like him who was working in the Inner Disciples District and took the opportunity to call him out. "Divan!"

Divan stopped, looking at Clayton and the twins. "Oh, Clayton! And these... Hey, it’s the Ascenders from the reports! Hello, Seniors. I’m Divan, a friend of Clayton and an Outer Disciple of the sect."

Rean and Roan looked at each other. "From the reports? What reports?"

Divan was taken aback. "Wait, haven’t you checked yet? You should totally look into the reports of the Godly Subjugation Guild. It just came out a few minutes ago. You are quite the celebrities now."

Divan didn’t need to say that twice. The twins’ minds immediately received their RCs’ images, and they controlled the RCs to check the Godly Subjugation Distribution System’s reports.

The reports were divided into many categories and levels, but what mattered was that there was a category for first-time fighters as well. Inside, you could see the contribution made by these newcomers during the Godly Creatures’ Assault, be they New Cultivators from the Celestial Plane or New Ascenders.

Well, at the very top of the list, in the seventh and ninth positions were none other than Rean and Roan! The Monitoring Arrays and the Distribution System considered Rean and Roan to be mainly responsible for the deaths of seventeen and sixteen Godly Spawns, respectively.

Rean and Roan knew that the information was correct. After the Arrays shifted and filled the twins’ platoon with power, the frontlines let a lot of Godly Spawns pass through for these newcomers to deal with. With their Sky Celestial Energy, Elements, and Intent Weapons, it goes without saying that they were able to kill many more.

Still, that was quite a tiny number compared to the number of kills the best scorers did in the frontlines. Some Anchor Gods and Aura Gods were reported to have over a hundred kills.

Nonetheless, those in the frontlines were never newcomers, so they weren’t in the first-time fighters’ list like Rean and Roan were.

When the Godly Creatures start an assault, the Godly Subjugation Guild always arranges for many different powers to join the defense lines, and the Wangamiglia Sect is just one of them. For Rean and Roan to appear in the top ten is usually seen as a sign that they have great futures ahead, a sign that they adapted to the Celestial Plane’s environment much faster than the vast majority. And they were both from the same organization.

Yet, what really caught Rean and Roan’s attention was who was in first and second places.

1- Kentucky

2- Celis

The twins understood immediately. To cultivate, one needs the Godly Crystals from the Godly Creatures!

’Celis definitely dragged Kentucky into this, and the bird absolutely hated it...’

Somewhere else in the Sect, a snow-white bird looked to be almost dead. That bird once had White and Black Feathers. But after what he was forced to face in the last assault, all his spirit had already left his body. One could only hear a soft murmur from the ’dead’ bird.

’I came to the Celestial Plane so I didn’t need to take Lily-Yu as my partner... I’m starting to regret that decision.’
