Death… And Me

Chapter 4276: I Want a Bonus

Chapter 4276: I Want a Bonus

Immediately, both Roan and Fonken felt their strengths dropping by around 30%, such was the concentration of Godly Pressure coming from that Godly Predator.

Neither of them stayed to test it, though. The two quickly turned around and shot away... Too bad that was a Godly Predator, and a wolf type, highly adaptable to speed.

*Rawr!*

It selected its target, Fonken! It made sense, since Fonken had the highest cultivation. In the wolf’s eyes, Fonken looked the most nutritious of the two.

Golden Energy emitted from its paws as it also shot in his direction. As for the Godly Beasts, they completely ignored Fonken. Instead, they all turned around and went after Roan, all twenty-one of them!

"Fuck!" Fonken ran as fast as he could, but the Predator was just faster. Fortunately for Fonken, he was already a Peak Stage Aura God, just a stage away from becoming a Zone God. And since he had some distance between himself and the Godly Predator from the start, he could at least run for a while before the predator finally caught up to him.

On the other side, Roan narrowed his eyes. The Godly Beasts were fast, but he knew he was faster. That wasn’t the big issue, though. The Godly Predator was. Godly Creatures can feel each other, so there was a chance that the Godly Predator would come after him as soon as it finished Fonken.

’How are things on your side?’ Roan asked Rean through their connection.

’Everything is good here. However, you have too many with you,’ Rean explained. ’We can take them down, but we will need the Sanctuary.’

Roan shook his head in response. ’We are too far from the watchpost. If we use the Sanctuary to take the Godly Beasts down, we won’t stand a chance if the Predator comes after us. I guess there is no other choice... Kentucky, meet me halfway.’

As mentioned before, Rean didn’t bring many materials for Arrays since they were expensive. However, he did use them to make a trap for the Godly Beasts this time around. The gains would definitely be worth it.

---

Fonken continued to use all the Godly Energy he could, but the Godly Predator was just too fast. Of course, Fonken knew he would not get to the watchpost. Even if he moves at full speed, it would still take thirty or so minutes.

Yes, they took hours to get to this place, but when they came, they moved just fast enough to conserve their energy. That’s why moving at full speed would take only thirty minutes instead.

Fonken then saw a small cliff in the distance, and his eyes lit up. Without thinking twice, he jumped inside, and the Godly Predator did the same just a few seconds later.

"Activate!" Fonken shouted.

Zuary was an Arrays Master, just like Rean, and an ascender, so that was exactly what he worked on when Fonken told him to prepare a trap. The hours Fonken and Roan gave Zuary to work were enough for him to build something relatively good that could even hold Godly Beasts.

The various runes on the ground lit up, Celestial Energy was absorbed from the surroundings, and hundreds of white threads shot from everywhere.

*Gla, gla, gla, gla, gla, gla...*

They all latched onto the Godly Beast’s legs and body, making it sluggish.

Zuary, however, didn’t look happy. "Fuck! What is that? It is using all the energy of the Array at once!"

"It’s a Godly Predator," Fonken said. "This thing was hiding within the Godly Beasts’ group."

"What?!" Zuary and the other Anchor Gods were taken aback. "The Array will not hold it for long! We need to run!"

"No," Fonken took his Spear out, and it charged with his Dark Element. "It is too fast, and its Godly Pressure reduces our strength way too much. We won’t manage to get back to the watchpost before it catches up to us. We need to take it down now!"

Zuary and the others didn’t seem very willing to attack the Godly Predator. In their minds, if they all run in different directions, some of them might survive.

"Wait, what about the Godly Beasts and the Godly Spawns?!" Zuary didn’t forget. "If they come after us too, the Array will break the moment they fall into it!"

"They won’t come!" Fonken assured. "All of them went after Roan. It’s only this Predator alone. Now, forget about running away! Focus!"

Fonken wasn’t an idiot. He knew that running was a pipe dream. This Array wasn’t made for the Godly Predator, and wouldn’t be able to hold it for much longer. The Predator would have more than enough time to catch everyone one by one.

"Of course, I won’t force anyone. If you want to run, then run. But I’ll guarantee that neither of you will survive once I’m taken down," Fonken said, and he shot forward.

Dark Element circulated around Fonken, and it concentrated on his Spear. He had to use this chance that the threads were holding the Godly Predator down to inflict at least some injuries. Perhaps running would be possible after that.

’Shadowfang Pierce!’

The spear moved straight, aiming at the Godly Predator’s sides.

The predator was being held by the threads, but it still could move within a certain range.

*Rawr!*

It twisted its body, pulling and breaking various of those threads at once. Still, there were many of those, and the spear connected. It’s just that the spear only caused a shallow injury that wouldn’t normally cause much trouble.

Fonken was satisfied enough, though. The moment the spear struck, black fangs erupted from the wound, and Shadowfang Pierce shredded the flesh from within. It was an attack that caused more damage after the Dark Element was injected rather than the moment the spear pierced through.

"What are you all waiting for?! Attack now and have a chance to survive, or run now and die for certain a few minutes later!" Fonken shouted to the ten Anchor Gods in his group.

Zuary was the first to greet his teeth, and a pair of katars appeared in his hands. "Fuck! I’d better get a bonus when this mission is over!"
