Chapter 4447: Charting

The Sondrel Pardal truly couldn’t have found a worse opponent in its life. That Godly Flying Creature was troublesome because of its abilities, yet those same abilities happened to be almost completely useless against Roan. In fact, they were also largely ineffective against Rean, who could freely use Roan’s Dark Element as well. The only real difference was that Roan possessed a much deeper understanding of Darkness, allowing him to deal with the Pardal far more efficiently.

As for pure combat strength, the Pardal wasn’t particularly impressive compared to other Godly Flying Creatures of the same level. If cultivators were used as the standard, its raw power was closer to that of an Initial or Middle Stage Law God. What made it dangerous was never its physical strength, but the unique properties of its Dark Element and the rotting fog it could continuously release during battle.

The moment the Pardal swooped down, Roan flew straight toward it without the slightest hesitation.

The Godly Flying Creature clearly hadn’t expected someone to challenge it head-on. It immediately slashed with its talons while its beak darted toward Roan’s chest, but Roan calmly intercepted every strike with his Crystal Void Scythes. Crimson Dark Lightning surged around both weapons as Roan continuously forced the Pardal backward, preventing it from gaining any momentum.

It didn’t take long before the creature realized brute force wouldn’t be enough.

Without warning, thick black mist exploded from its feathers, quickly expanding into every direction. The fog spread for well over a hundred meters while following the Pardal’s movements through the air, turning the entire battlefield into a sea of darkness.

Ordinary cultivators would’ve retreated immediately.

Roan did the opposite.

He accelerated directly into the center of the rotting fog as though it didn’t exist.

Watching from outside, Lukay couldn’t help but frown. Even after seeing some unbelievable things from the twins’ group, he still found Roan’s actions difficult to understand. That fog had earned the Sondrel Pardal its terrifying reputation. Numerous Dark Element cultivators had challenged one over the years, yet all of them had eventually been affected by the rotting power hidden inside it.

Roan simply ignored the danger altogether.

His charge also created the perfect opening Celis had been waiting for.

Countless roots erupted from beneath his trunk, rapidly weaving together into a gigantic prison that surrounded the Pardal from every direction. Thick vines shot upward, intertwining into an enormous cage while countless smaller roots attempted to latch onto the creature’s body.

Naturally, the rotting fog immediately began eating away at Celis’s roots and vines. Black corrosion spread across them wherever the fog touched, yet Celis didn’t appear concerned at all. He continuously poured Godly Energy into every damaged vine, repairing them almost as quickly as they decayed.

That was one of the greatest advantages of the twins’ group.

Their cultivation techniques not only granted them enormous reserves of Godly Energy but also allowed them to recover that energy at astonishing speeds. Even if Celis consumed several times more Godly Energy than ordinary cultivators to maintain his techniques, he could continue fighting far longer than most opponents.

The prison tightened.

The Pardal attempted to escape several times, yet Roan remained glued to it the entire time, refusing to give it even a single opening.

Finally, the opportunity arrived.

The Pardal lashed out with one claw, hoping to force Roan back. Roan calmly raised his right-hand Crystal Void Scythe to block the attack while his left-hand weapon flashed toward the creature’s neck.

Startled, the Pardal instinctively beat its wings to retreat.

Exactly as Roan expected.

"Senior Lukay," Rean suddenly transmitted with Divine Sense, "follow directly behind my attack."

Lukay didn’t understand why Rean specifically wanted that timing, but after fighting together for months, he had already learned not to question the twins during combat.

"Understood."

The two attacked simultaneously.

’Voltari Crack!’

’Red Life, Lightning Emperor Sword!’

Brilliant Crimson Lightning erupted around Rean’s Crystal Void Swords. The attack pierced straight through the sea of black fog, its brilliant Light Element dispersing the surrounding darkness wherever it passed. The rotting mist offered almost no resistance, splitting apart as though a path had been carved through it.

Immediately afterward, Lukay’s attack followed that very opening.

A massive chain of yellow lightning surged forward with the full power of a Middle Stage Zone God, racing directly behind Rean’s sword before crashing into the gap it had created.

*KABRUMMM!!!*

*CREEEEEE!!!*

The Sondrel Pardal released a miserable scream.

Rean’s sword had already torn open an enormous wound across its chest. Before it could even react, Lukay’s Voltari Crack plunged directly into that opening, flooding the creature’s body with violent lightning.

The destructive energy exploded from the inside.

Scorched feathers scattered in every direction as the Pardal’s body convulsed violently. The rotting fog surrounding it immediately became unstable, breaking apart into countless wisps before slowly fading away altogether.

Only a few breaths later, the light disappeared from the creature’s eyes.

Its lifeless body began falling from the sky.

*Pin!*

[Predators analyzed inside the Sanctuary: 05]

Celis reacted immediately.

Several roots extended from his Energy Draining Prison, wrapping around the falling corpse before it could crash into the forest below. A few thinner roots slipped directly into the Pardal’s skull, quickly locating the Godly Predator Crystal hidden inside.

Only after storing the crystal away did Celis glance toward Lukay. "Is any part of this Godly Flying Creature worth collecting?"

Lukay shook his head. "Not really. The same rotting property affecting its attacks also affects most of its body after death. Its materials decay far too quickly to be worthwhile. There are probably a handful of specialists capable of making something useful out of them, but separating every usable piece wouldn’t be worth the effort."

"I see." Without another word, Celis simply released the corpse.

The enormous body disappeared into the endless forest below while Rean clapped his hands.

"Everyone, back aboard."

The group immediately returned to the airplane.

Barely a minute later, they caught up to Kentucky, who was still surrounded by dozens of Godly Spawns and Godly Beasts. It wasn’t that Kentucky lacked the strength to defeat them. Rather, there were simply too many opponents constantly trying to pin him down. With time, he would win, but why wait?

Seeing the others arrive, Kentucky laughed.

"Took you long enough!"

Roan, Celis, and Lukay immediately joined the battle. The remaining Godly Creatures were quickly overwhelmed, and within moments the sky became quiet once more. Naturally, Celis made sure not a single Godly Crystal was left behind before everyone boarded the airplane again.

The Celestial Thrusters roared to life, and the aircraft resumed its journey through the endless wilderness.
