Death… And Me

Chapter 4456: Zenith

Chapter 4456: Zenith

After Rean and Roan disappeared inside the sea of magma flames, the Drake could barely feel their existence anymore, and it believed that it had already caught its prey.

Little did it know that although its powerful magma flames were indeed causing tremendous damage to the twins, Rean and Roan still had another card hidden up their sleeves.

’Life Style, Instant Recovery!’

Using Rean’s Light Element, the twins suppressed their sense of pain while Instant Recovery continuously repaired their bodies. It was an extremely risky move, though. The Godly Horror’s flames were simply too powerful. If Celis and Lukay hadn’t intervened at the right moment, Rean and Roan would not have survived inside that sea of magma for more than a few seconds.

But they did.

The Voltari Thunderclap descended from above, strengthened by Celis’ ability, and shattered the Sphere of Flames surrounding the Horror Drake. More importantly, it forced the creature’s attention away from the twins and toward Celis and Lukay.

That brief distraction was all Rean and Roan needed.

An opening had appeared!

The twins’ charred bodies emerged right beneath the Drake’s belly, the area that could be considered the weakest part of its body. With many of its scales already destroyed by the Voltari Thunderclap, its defenses there were far weaker than before.

The Crystal Void Scythes and Crystal Void Swords trembled as Bright and Dark Red Lightning covered their surfaces. Rean and Roan gathered every remaining bit of strength they possessed and prepared their final attack.

’Red Life...’ Rean moved forward.

’Red Death...’ Roan followed right behind him.

’Tenth Form!’ The twins chanted together through their soul connection.

’Crimson Zenith!’

The four Crystal Void Weapons trembled violently.

Two swords.

Two scythes.

The Sword Intent and Scythe Intent no longer remained separate. Guided by their Yin Yang Power, the two Weapon Intents resonated and slowly merged together. Bright and Dark Red Lightning flowed freely between the four manifested weapons, gradually losing any distinction between Rean’s power and Roan’s.

The four weapons dissolved into streams of crimson light before gathering together.

In the next instant, a single colossal crimson blade appeared between the twins.

It was neither a sword nor a scythe. It was a weapon born from both, a manifestation of their combined Weapon Intents that could only exist because Rean and Roan were fighting as one.

The new weapon carried a completely different Intent, one that belonged neither to Sword Intent nor Scythe Intent alone.

It belonged to both.

The twins swung together.

*SHIIIIING!*

The crimson blade cut across the Horror Drake’s exposed belly in a single arc!

For a brief moment, nothing seemed to happen...

Then, the fused Weapon Intent erupted!

*KRAAAAAAAAAA!!!*

A torrent of Bright and Dark Red Lightning exploded from the wound, spreading through the Drake’s body as if the attack had been waiting until it passed through all defenses before unleashing its true power.

*ROOOOOOOAAARRRRR!!!*

The Magma Drake roared in agony as its body suffered catastrophic damage from within. Its organs were destroyed, its bones shattered into countless fragments, and the meridians that carried its Godly Energy were torn apart by the destructive Weapon Intent.

Normally, even such a powerful attack should not have been enough to inflict this much damage on a Godly Horror. However, the Drake had received the attack during the worst possible moment.

Its attention had been completely focused on pursuing Celis and Lukay. Its protective scales had already been damaged by the Voltari Thunderclap, and the attack struck directly at one of the weakest areas of its body without warning.

All those factors combined into a single devastating blow!

The Tenth Form was not as powerful as the Seventh Form, Crimson Sun and Moon Obliteration. The Seventh Form remained their strongest attack because of the terrifying amount of Bright and Dark Red Lightning it could accumulate and collide against each other. However, it also required time to prepare, something Rean and Roan simply did not have while trapped inside that sea of magma.

Crimson Zenith was different.

It required almost no preparation, making it far more practical in situations where they had only a brief opening. It became the twins’ second strongest attack, although it also had the same limitation as the Seventh Form.

It could only be used when Rean and Roan fought together.

They might constantly argue and dislike each other’s personalities, but when it came to fighting side by side, they truly were an unmatched pair.

Rean and Roan emerged from opposite sides of the wound, their Crystal Void Weapons returning to their original forms as the fused Weapon Intent separated back into Sword Intent and Scythe Intent.

The Horror Drake remained suspended in the air for a few moments, glaring at the twins with endless rage.

Then, the light within its eyes slowly faded.

The Godly Energy circulating through its body stopped as its damaged meridians collapsed completely. Unable to maintain itself any longer, the enormous body began falling from the sky.

Rean and Roan watched the corpse descend, both feeling the exhaustion finally catching up to them. They had used almost all their remaining Godly Energy in that final attack. Although their recovery speed was much faster than other cultivators at their level, restoring everything would still require some time.

*Zush, zush, zush, zush...*

Before they could say anything else, countless roots and vines shot downward as the World Swallowing Cedar rushed past them.

Naturally, it was Celis.

You would have to kill that greedy Cedar before he could ever think about leaving such a Godly Crystal behind.

"Come to papa! Hahaha!"

Meanwhile, Lukay looked toward the distance where Kentucky was still fighting against the remaining Godly Predator.

He could immediately tell that Kentucky was struggling. Even with his powerful body and defensive abilities, he still wasn’t quite capable of defeating a Godly Predator alone.

"I’ll help him!"

His amazement over killing a Godly Horror would have to wait.

However, Lukay wasn’t needed after all.

The remaining Predator Drake had a connection with the Godly Horror. The moment the Horror died, it sensed that connection disappear. Although it lacked true intelligence, its instincts were enough to understand the danger.

Without hesitation, it abandoned the battle against Kentucky and turned around to escape.

Kentucky did not pursue it.

At the same time, Rean and Roan took out Godly Beast Crystals from their Spatial Rings and began absorbing the Godly Energy inside while circulating their cultivation techniques to replenish their own reserves.

’Life Style, Instant Recovery!’

Their burned flesh slowly regenerated, and the exposed bones quickly disappeared beneath restored muscles and skin. To provide the energy required for the recovery process, they each consumed two of Roan’s nutrient pills.

"It turned out better than expected..." Rean commented.

Roan nodded. "It did. But this isn’t something we should try unless we have no other choice."

Kentucky soon returned, also using Rean’s Instant Recovery to heal his injuries. "Way too many things had to happen perfectly for that Drake to die."

"Exactly," Roan replied. "We came far too close to losing our lives."

"But the chances of all those circumstances happening again are extremely low," Rean added.

"Hahaha!" Celis finally returned, having already stored both the Godly Horror Crystal and the remains of the Drake inside his Spatial Storage. "To think we would actually obtain a Godly Horror Crystal! This was truly an amazing harvest!"

Lukay felt completely speechless.

Other than Celis, the rest of the group didn’t seem nearly as excited about killing a Godly Horror as he expected. And Celis’ excitement wasn’t even about the battle itself. It was only about the rewards.

"Even if I told someone everything that happened here," Lukay said helplessly, "not a single soul would believe me."

Rean smiled. "Well, you aren’t supposed to tell anyone anyway."

Roan ignored the conversation and turned his attention back toward the damaged airplane. "With the Godly Horror gone, these ruins should be much safer now. Let’s recover our energy and fix the airplane first, then continue exploring."
