Chapter 4627: A New One
’Red Death and Life, Seventh Form, Crimson Sun and Moon Obliteration!’
[Yin Yang Sanctuary Activated!]
[Time: 120 Seconds]
The two opposite forces converged at the center of the battlefield, right where the Godly Horror was desperately struggling against the effects of the previous attacks. Its body was already ravaged by lightning and ice, and the Sanctuary’s weakening effect only made its predicament worse. It had no time to recover, much less adapt to the sudden reduction in its strength, before the twins’ combined attack reached it.
*KABRUMMMMM!!!*
Light, Dark, Fire, Water, Red Lightning, Weapon Intent—everything Rean and Roan could bring to bear erupted in that single strike. Neither held anything back, nor could they afford to. Their opponent was a Peak Godly Horror, a Shackal-like creature whose strength and ferocity had caused them considerable trouble from the very beginning of the battle.
The Shackal had proven to be a difficult opponent. Its attacks were powerful enough to threaten even the group’s strongest defenses, and its resilience meant that simply landing a few solid blows wouldn’t be enough to bring it down. Nevertheless, the twins’ group, together with the two Law Gods, had gradually worn it down through their coordinated efforts. Kentucky had kept the creature occupied, Celis had drained its energy, and the others had struck whenever an opening appeared.
When Celis finally closed the area with his Energy Draining Prison, the Shackal realized it was in serious danger. It went berserk, unleashing its remaining strength in a desperate attempt to escape. Unfortunately for the creature, the group was simply too powerful. Even its speed wasn’t enough to attempt to break out of Celis’s Prison. If anything, every time it tried, it only entangled itself in Celis’s Vines and Roots, which accelerated the draining effect.
The Yin Yang Sanctuary took form at precisely the right moment, reducing the Shackal’s strength by an amount equivalent to an entire cultivation stage. The creature had already been pushed close to its limit, and it had no time to adjust to this sudden weakening before the twins unleashed their ultimate attack.
The resulting explosion engulfed the battlefield.
When the light finally faded, a corpse fell from the center of the blast. The life in the Shackal’s eyes had vanished, and its enormous body could no longer sustain itself in the air.
*Shu! Shu! Shu!*
Celis’s vines immediately shot forward, catching the corpse before it could fall too far. Several thick vines pierced its head, quickly extracting the Peak Godly Horror Crystal hidden inside.
"Phew..." Celis said, retracting the vines once the valuable crystal had been secured. "This one was strong."
Tobao and Arcis approached alongside Rean and the others, examining the Shackal’s corpse. Although they had participated in countless battles over the past two years, neither Law God had grown careless. "Godly Horrors are still Godly Horrors. We can’t afford to drop our guard."
They could have avoided the battle altogether if they had wanted. Rean’s airplane was equipped with its Godly Pressure disguise, and its radar had detected the creature from thirty kilometers away. By examining the concentration of Godly Pressure registered by the radar, they had immediately realized that the approaching Horror was exceptionally powerful.
Even so, the group had deliberately chosen to fight.
They needed to be certain they could handle whatever dangers awaited them farther ahead. Their journey was taking them into territory where even a single mistake could have catastrophic consequences, and relying entirely on the airplane’s disguise wasn’t a viable solution. If they encountered a situation where they had no choice but to fight, they needed to know exactly what they could accomplish.
Besides, there was another incentive.
Over the course of their journey, the group had already killed a considerable number of Godly Horrors. Tobao and Arcis had never imagined that they would one day be able to hunt such creatures while traveling far beyond the Sacred Relic’s Influence. Now, they could do so without being constantly swarmed by every Godly Creature in the area.
Naturally, both Law Gods were more than happy with the arrangement. Godly Horror Crystals were extremely valuable cultivation resources, and they received their fair share of the spoils after each successful battle. With the number of powerful Horrors they had encountered over the past two years, their gains had been substantial.
By now, Arcis and Tobao were convinced that Rean’s airplane disguise was remarkably effective. They had never once been overwhelmed by countless Godly Creatures simply because they were outside the Sacred Relic’s Influence. That single advantage had made their journey far safer than either of them had initially expected.
If anything, they wanted to continue hunting as many Godly Horrors as possible. The more crystals they accumulated, the faster they could improve their cultivation. Both Law Gods had begun to entertain a dream that had once seemed almost impossible: reaching the Region God Realm themselves.
For the first time in a very long while, that goal seemed genuinely attainable.
However, they were about to discover that the creatures inhabiting the deepest parts of the Godly Creatures’ Territories belonged to an entirely different level.
’Everyone, return to the airplane immediately!’ Kachia’s Godly Sense Voice suddenly echoed through everyone’s minds, carrying an urgency that left no room for questions.
The group reacted without hesitation, immediately flying back toward Rean’s airplane. Once everyone was aboard, they gathered around the console and examined the radar.
A powerful concentration of Godly Pressure was approaching their location.
The signal was far more intense than anything the Peak Godly Horror they had just defeated could have produced. Even without seeing the creature itself, the difference was impossible to ignore. Whatever was approaching possessed a level of power far beyond that of an ordinary Godly Horror.
"This..." Tobao muttered, his expression turning serious as he examined the readings.
"Is that..." Arcis began, but he didn’t need to finish the question.
Rean nodded, his expression equally solemn. "Most likely. We knew they existed, and it seems this is the first one we’ll encounter."
A Godly Apex had appeared!
