It had yet to do anything, but the desolate aura around it filled every corner of the East Divine Continent. All of the living creatures below felt as though death was approaching. This was the suffocating pressure of a Divine Fruit Grand Devil King.

Even Li Luo's expression had turned solemn. Although he was now a peak Heavenly Emperor with four Authorities, he was still a step away from the Divine Fruit Realm. This single step meant that there was a sizable gap between him and his opponent.

As he gazed at the devilish figure, the latter raised its head, revealing red, serpentine eyes. A gentle smile appeared on its delicate and handsome face as it strode forward.

This was the most fearsome opponent Li Luo had met thus far. His senses were telling him that beneath the gentle exterior was a nine-headed snake capable of destroying the world. It emanated a malevolent aura, instilling fear into ordinary Heavenly Emperors with its frightening corrupted Authorities, easily capable of turning this location into a world void of life.

Despite all that, Li Luo's expression remained calm. The powerless youth from the past was now the guardian of the East Divine Continent. The lives below rested on his shoulders.

"I have cultivated for less than forty years, and every enemy I've faced thus far has been at a higher level than me. Even so, I've always emerged victorious. I believe today will be no different," Li Luo replied indifferently.

After which, the Absolute Resonance Halo emerged from behind him, slowly turning. His six resonant palaces were shining like blinding suns, causing twelve different types of resonant powers to surge out, constantly intermingling and causing all sorts of phenomena.

A different sort of aura was released, gradually filling the entire East Divine Continent as well. It caused the terror inflicted by Nine Snakes to gradually dull in people's hearts.

You'll suffer the same fate as the Sect Master who once threatened the existence of the Shadow World," Nine Snakes hissed as it observed the archaic Absolute Resonance Halo, its casual smile fading away. When Li Luo studied the chessboard more closely, his gaze narrowed. Within it were millions of dots of light, each one representing a living and breathing city. It was a projection of the East Divine Continent.

Smirking, Nine Snakes asked, "Do you wish to protect the living creatures of the East Divine Continent? Then I will exterminate every single one of them before your very eyes. I want to see what you can do to save them."

Its gentle tone contrasted greatly with its ruthless words, causing even the heavens and earth to change colors. Nine Snakes stretched out a finger and inserted it into its own eye socket before slowly twisting its eye, gouging it out. It toyed with the eyeball in one hand. The empty eye socket was a sight capable of sending chills down anyone's spine.

The smile on Nine Snakes's face became even brighter. "If you wish to protect the East Divine Continent, then you need to show me what you can do."

The eyeball floated into the air and expanded rapidly, turning into a gigantic, blood-red moon that floated in the sky. Everyone below could see that a new moon had appeared. Its light filled every corner of the continent.

The moonlight was extremely strange, as though it originated from a different layer of spacetime. Even though the cities of the East Divine Continent were enveloped by the Immemorial World Divine Devil Trapping Formation, the moonlight was capable of penetrating it, landing on the bodies of the living. A gloomy chill arose in their hearts as a result.

As the strong sense of unease overcame them, they could feel a prickling pain coursing through their flesh and blood, regardless of whether they were humans or beasts. They were horrified to see their skin split apart, flowing with fresh blood as blood snakes tunneled out of them. The snakes hissed callously before feasting on them.

This sudden development caused the East Divine Continent to descend into pandemonium. Everyone attempted to destroy the blood snakes, but even after slicing through and killing them, another one would emerge from within their bodies. Only Li Luo, Lu Qing'er, and Zhen Linshuang, the three Heavenly Emperors, were unaffected. Lu Qing'er's expression was frosty. She was the first to take action, sending down large amounts of frost that turned the land into a frozen paradise. Her Ice Authority froze the blood snakes, but then the blood moon in the sky turned increasingly ghastly. This caused the blood snakes to break free from her ice seal and continue the process of eating the living.

Nine Snakes ignored Lu Qing'er, only staring at Li Luo as it said, "This is the Nine Snakes Curse, created from my Divine Fruit Authority. I've cast it upon this entire continent. It causes blood snakes to continuously spring forth from the flesh and blood of the living. Once nine snakes emerge, their minds will be devoured, turning them into hives that produce even more blood snakes. Now... does this make you fall into despair? What can you do but watch powerlessly as they suffer the most cruel and painful of deaths?"

Its callous smile was reflected in everyone's eyes, resembling a demonic devil that had crawled out of the depths of hell, causing them to feel desperation and fear.
