Chapter 1820: Ruins Reappear

The Heavenly Emperors were overcome with excitement as they looked towards the spot in the void Tantai Lan had pointed to. However, all they could see was an empty sky with no special features. Worldly natural energy was flowing through the location as per usual, and there were no phenomena or anything occurring in the area to suggest anything was different.

They didn't doubt her at all though—detecting nothing was actually a reassuring sign. This was because the only way that something that could render their senses ineffective was if that thing was truly extraordinary.

As Heavenly Emperor Jiang looked into the void, the crack on his forehead containing his Divine Fruit began to stir. Both his eyes turned emerald green as he fully activated his Divine Fruit Authority, attempting to perceive the hidden secrets in the area. Beams of light swept outwards containing his Divine Fruit Authority, enveloping the entire space.

As the boundless power descended and came in contact with the empty void, it was devoured without any sound. This surprised Heavenly Emperor Jiang that he exhaled heavily before smiling towards Tantai Lan with hardly disguised emotion. "Heavenly Emperor Lan, thank you for your help."

The other Heavenly Emperors became increasingly excited as it was clear that Heavenly Emperor Jiang's previous move had effectively confirmed that there was a secret right here. The sect's ruins were before their very eyes.

Tantai Lan also heaved a sigh of relief. She had searched ceaselessly for the past half a year, and the fatigue had accumulated. Even so, she couldn't stop, as time was tight and no one could rest. The pressure looming over them in the form of the Acheronian Sun and Blood Moon in the sky caused even Heavenly Emperors to feel suffocated, much less the common individuals. Countless cities across the divine continents had already started unravelling into anarchy as the common populace crumbled under the weight of despair.

"Everyone, let's not waste any more time. Set up the formation," Heavenly Emperor Jiang commanded.

The Heavenly Emperors summoned up their respective powers of Authority, creating a sky filled with magnificent phenomena that illuminated every corner of the heavens and the earth. Then a gigantic formation that had been long prepared revealed itself. Each of the Heavenly Emperors served as a core node, pushing its power to a frightening level.

The formation had combined the terrifying power of the Heavenly Emperors and used it to smash the void. However, to everyone's surprise, the void was akin to a bottomless pit, causing the entire attack to vanish at an alarming rate.

The attempt wasn't completely unfruitful, however, because the Heavenly Emperors could sense that as the formation's power continued to pour into the void, a faint white mist was leaking out and quickly dissipating. It was mysterious and ethereal, seemingly capable of obscuring anything and everything.

Seeing it made the Heavenly Emperors shake with joy. This meant that their teamwork was effective and the Sect Master's fog resonant power was being gradually weakened. Eventually, the ruins of the headquarters would reveal themselves to the world once again. With that thought in mind, the Heavenly Emperors continued to pour even more of their Authority into the formation. The phenomenon illuminating the world turned even more wondrous and intense as a result.

Li Luo wasn't taking part in the formation, due to his current state. He stood atop a mountain, observing the Heavenly Emperors grind down the fog resonant power. Complicated feelings suddenly arose within his heart. Would he really find the answer in the ruins? Would it give him the solution to resist the Dark Sect Master? He was unsure, but he had to do his best. He took a deep breath and regained his composure, sitting cross-legged in a meditative position to adjust his condition.

The Heavenly Emperors' efforts continued for three months. They had toiled away tirelessly every single day, resulting in their Authorities starting to dim. To outsiders, the entire scene was comical to look at. The world's mightiest experts were surrounding an empty patch of air, ceaselessly funneling their Authority into it with nothing to show for it after three entire months. This just seemed completely abnormal.

Any bystander would have long given up watching after seeing that there were no results after such a long time. However, anyone who could become a Heavenly Emperor was someone with extraordinary patience and determination. Thus, they remained unmoved, continuously doing their best to erode away at this location in the void.

Yet another two months passed. The Heavenly Emperors were numbly scattering their Authority across the void with the aid of the formation, feeling utterly weary. Suddenly, the entire location shook violently, and the void began to collapse before their very eyes. It was as though an incredibly heavy object had lost its supporting foundation, crashing through the layers of the void.

Bang!

In just a few breaths of time, the void collapsed into a black hole. If one were to peer closer, they would see awe-inspiring and ancient ruins in its depths. Eventually, it drifted into the world of the divine continents.

All of the Heavenly Emperors stopped channeling and shook at the sight of the titanic object that had descended. The ruins were even larger and more majestic than anything they had ever seen.

There were golden palaces interweaved across the ruins like the scales on a golden dragon, layer upon layer with no end in sight. Countless ancient pagodas stood tall, each inscribed with mysterious and ancient scriptures. Steps made of the finest jade led upwards, and at the very top was a golden stele standing proudly among the clouds. Four words were engraved on it.

Sacred Void Resonance Sect

An indescribable sense of imposing majesty permeated the entire ruins. Even the Heavenly Emperors couldn't help but feel a sense of awe, and looks of reverence appeared in all of their eyes. This was the true location of the Sacred Void Resonance Sect!

This ancient sect, the undisputed behemoth of its era, had managed to carve a bloody path through the Shadow World. If not for the bizarre nature of the Origin of Absolute Corruption, perhaps the sect would have destroyed the chaos in that attack.

No other power in history had ever managed to replicate the achievements of the Sacred Void Resonance Sect, nor come close to its power. Even the Heavenly Emperors that stood at the pinnacle had often spoken of it with great longing.

On the other hand, Yan Changsheng and Su Ying's eyes turned red as they took in the familiar view. Every single location had been dearly engraved in their memories. As they endured the passage of the years, they had often yearned to return to this place. Every single blade of grass, every tree, every brick and tile, every person and event. They had never thought that they would one day return.

After the initial surprise, Heavenly Emperor Jiang led the group towards the ruins. However, they were soon shocked to find out that as they approached, the ruins started to shake violently. The ancient inscriptions on the towering pagodas within the sect began to shine, and countless streams of light started to intertwine. The sect protection formation had started to awaken and come to life. Then a terrifying aura swept towards the group.

Heavenly Emperor Jiang and the rest halted, and fear and hesitation filled their hearts. They no longer dared to advance.

"This is the sect's protective formation. Once it senses the approach of foreign Heavenly Emperors, it awakens from its slumber. Once it's activated, all non-affiliated Heavenly Emperors are attacked," Yan Changsheng then explained.

Heavenly Emperor Jiang and the rest glanced at each other momentarily. They were all Heavenly Emperors of a future generation, so they did not belong to the Sacred Void Resonance Sect. Thus, their approach was akin to an undeclared sneak attack on the sect.

No one dared to underestimate the formation's power either, as even a Divine Fruit Heavenly Emperor like Heavenly Emperor Jiang felt a piercing sensation just looking at it. This was indeed a troublesome situation. After going through endless trouble to locate the ruins, they were unable to walk through the door.

"Elders, can you disable the formation?" Heavenly Emperor Jiang asked.

Yan Changsheng and Su Ying were both part of the Void Resonance's Six Sons and thus understood the headquarters of the sect quite well, so it was best to pin their hopes on them.

The couple shook their heads, however. "Once the formation has been activated, only two conditions can disable it. It also requires entering the sect's main building, the Golden Hall. The first would be a congregation of all of the Void Resonance's Six Sons."

The Heavenly Emperors frowned. The only members of the Six Sons that remained today were the couple before them. Therefore, a gathering of all six was impossible.

"What is the other condition?" Heavenly Emperor Jiang asked.

Yan Changsheng and Su Ying turned to each other before directing their gazes at a specific person. "The Sect Master has the authority to disable it, of course."

Everyone turned to see who they were looking at. It was none other than Li Luo.

Upon receiving everyone's curious gazes, Li Luo's lips curled up into a self-deprecating smirk. "I've lost both the Absolute Resonance Seed and the Absolute Resonance Halo, so how can I be considered the Sect Master of the Sacred Void Resonance Sect?"
