Chapter 3631: Shattered

Chapter 3631: ShatteredEditor: Nyoi-Bo Studio

Gulf of Ghana.

More than twenty small ships had trapped a large ship in the center.

Captain Cao Ge looked at the pirate crew that had quickly blocked their path and felt a sinking sense in his chest.

It was them again!

The Skeleton Guild!

The Skeleton Guild was the largest pirate group in the Gulf of Ghana, elusive and unpredictable, ambushing passing ships.

"Hehe, what’s the matter? Coming into our Skeleton Guild territory without paying a toll?"

Ronan, the captain of the Skeleton Guild, stood on the deck of a medium-sized ship, glaring viciously at Cao Ge on the other ship. "Forget it. I like your ship, so I’ll keep it as your toll. I’ll give you a small boat, and you can leave."

Cao Ge stared at Ronan without moving.

In the past, whenever they encountered the Skeleton Guild, they mostly avoided conflict. If they couldn’t, they paid a toll.

But today, they had run into the Skeleton Guild’s main fleet.

Ronan, the opposing captain, was demanding greedily, trying to take the entire ship.

This was the ship they had worked day and night in the game for two years to acquire!

Fight to the death?

Cao Ge sized up the enemy’s numbers.

It was very difficult.

Normally, Meng Qingyu and Guo Ran were the team’s top combatants and would always protect the ship during voyages. But this morning, they had an urgent mission from the vampires and had to leave for a while.

And, by sheer coincidence, they had only been gone two hours before the team ran into the Skeleton Guild’s main force.

Cao Ge felt a chill run through him.

Though he had no proof, he sensed there was definitely a traitor in the team.

Cao Ge said coldly, "Skeleton Guild, don’t go too far!"

"Hahaha! Go too far?"

Ronan laughed loudly, arrogant. "Go too far? So what! I’ve already left you a way out. If you don’t want to die, leave now. Don’t waste time here!"

Cao Ge’s eyes reddened. He clenched his fists, nails digging into his skin.

The enemy outnumbered them. A direct fight would only increase casualties.

But without their ship, two years of effort would be ruined, and they would have to withdraw from the royal family’s merchant ship competition.

Damn it! Fight to the death!

Huh?

Suddenly, Cao Ge saw something unusual and looked up into the sky.

What was that?

Others on the ship noticed his gaze and looked up as well.

What was it?

In the distance, a massive shadow swept through the sky, accompanied by a terrifying coercion, rapidly approaching them.

The enormous figure gradually became visible.

What!? A Bone Dragon!?

A giant Bone Dragon circled above the ship.

The pirates of the Skeleton Guild looked up as well.

Though they called themselves the Skeleton Guild, their team had at most a few necromancy mages, only capable of basic skeleton summoning skills. They had never even imagined a sacred object like a Bone Dragon.

So where had this Bone Dragon come from?

Meng Qingyu felt anxious, pointing at their surrounded ship below. "Your Majesty, that ship is ours. Those surrounding us are the Skeleton Guild, the pirate group in this area."

"Mm, I’ll handle it."

Fang Heng nodded lightly, flipped his wrist, and a stack of sealing rune papers appeared in his hand. He casually tossed them into midair.

The rune papers flew out.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Lickers burst from the exploding rune papers, diving downward and rapidly splitting in midair.

In an instant, thousands of Lickers leapt from the sky.

Below, the pirates were stunned by the Bone Dragon overhead. Then they saw countless black specks falling from its vicinity.

What was that?

Monsters?

The pirates gradually realized the falling creatures were Lickers and shouted, "Watch out! Monsters!"

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

In a moment, the Lickers rained down like black raindrops, landing on the ships below.

Whoosh!

The Lickers moved extremely fast, leaping toward nearby pirates as soon as they touched down.

Chi!

Their sharp claws instantly severed a pirate’s head.

"Enemy attack!"

The pirate crew reacted in horror, drawing their weapons to fight back.

But it was already too late.

Once the Lickers reached close range, they revealed their ferocity, tearing the pirates’ flesh and bones in an instant.

The pirates had never seen Lickers before and did not know their power. They charged recklessly, but were instantly slaughtered.

"Fire resistance!"

A high-tier mage among the pirates saw two Lickers rushing at him. In panic, he cast a spell.

Boom!

The two Lickers were knocked back by the flames.

But in the next moment, they, engulfed in fire, leapt at him again.

What the hell!

The mage’s eyes filled with terror, and in the next moment, the Lickers pounced, tearing him apart completely.

It was a one-sided massacre.

After two waves of pirates were killed, the remaining pirates saw their comrades die one by one. Even the team’s high-tier mages gave up fighting and jumped into the sea to survive.

On the other side, Cao Ge’s player team saw the pirates’ disastrous situation and were momentarily confused, staring blankly as the Lickers quickly destroyed the surrounding pirate ships.

"What’s going on? Where did those monsters come from?!"

Ronan watched the ships collapse rapidly and felt a chilling sensation along his spine.

Where had these terrifying monsters appeared from?

The two chief mages had been hired and trained at great cost by the Skeleton Guild, yet they could not harm the Lickers at all.

"Captain! The enemy is too strong. We can’t hold them. Retreat!"

As ships were destroyed by the Lickers, the creatures moved quickly between vessels, spreading toward Ronan’s ship. The crew panicked, shouting warnings.

"Retreat! Activate the God’s blessing! Fall back!"

Ronan reacted as well. Before the Lickers reached his ship, he ordered his crew to turn and retreat.

Fang Heng observed the battle from above, narrowing his eyes.

What was that?

Interesting!

Ronan’s ship turned and accelerated at astonishing speed, quickly leaving the Lickers’ pursuit range.

A normal wooden ship should not have such speed.

Fang Heng’s God’s Eye appeared in his right eye, spinning rapidly.

The ship was quickly deconstructed in his vision, and its structure became fully clear to him.

I see...

It was the figurehead at the bow.

The power of the Sea God?

All these faith-like forces, combined with elemental abilities, greatly enhanced the ship’s speed.
