Chapter 3713: Doubts

Fang Heng opened his eyes while maintaining his cultivation state and looked toward Feng Tiya on the side.

Mora’s eyes flickered with a trace of surprise.

This kid!

They had underestimated him again!

He was actually able to resist the influence of divine pressure while cultivating, and still distracted himself to speak!

So this level of divine pressure basically meant nothing to him, right?

Feng Tiya was also slightly startled, but she quickly concealed the surprise in her eyes and nodded. "There has been a reply from the Sea of Nature."

Fang Heng’s spirit was lifted. He exited his cultivation state and stood up. "What did they say?"

"Kandal confirmed that people from the Black Castle had indeed contacted him. It is said that Black Castle was very interested in the deep-sea abyss region and offered great sincerity, so both sides reached an agreement. Kandal sent his subordinates to accompany people from Black Castle into the depths of the abyss region for exploration."

Fang Heng asked in confusion, "Abyss region?"

Priest Mora explained, "The abyss region was located at the intersection of the three great seas. It was the deepest part of the ocean. It was said that it buried deep-sea monsters from ancient times that had been eternally imprisoned. The environment there was extremely dangerous, and under normal circumstances, all major sea forces maintained a tacit understanding and stayed away from it."

Fang Heng asked, "Why would people from Black Castle go to the abyss?"

"That was also what I could not figure out," Feng Tiya said lightly, her fingers unconsciously brushing over the shaft of the Sea God’s Trident. "The entrance to the abyss zone was unmanaged. There were deep-sea spatial undercurrents and extremely low visibility. It was extremely dangerous. Apart from that, there was only the sealed land where ancient deep-sea monsters were imprisoned. There was nothing worth exploring there."

Fang Heng thought to himself that perhaps the abyss region was also regarded as part of the game world, and Black Castle had received some kind of game mission that required them to complete something there.

"In addition, Kandal also said something that I found strange," Feng Tiya continued.

She said, "With Kandal’s personality, even if Black Castle offered generous terms, he would at most provide some guidance. He would not easily send his subordinates to accompany them into the abyss region."

"I suspect something must have happened that led him to make that decision."

After thinking for a moment, Feng Tiya took out Kandal’s reply and handed it to Fang Heng. "Also, Kandal mentioned some old matters that seemed completely unrelated to this situation."

Fang Heng quickly skimmed through the letter after opening it.

As Feng Tiya had said, most of the earlier parts were pleasantries and explanations about Black Castle’s situation, while the latter half strangely mentioned events from previous generations.

In the conclusion, however, it returned to normal, stating that the three great sea domains once fought together and should now help each other. It also invited Feng Tiya to visit the Sea of Nature temple.

Fang Heng narrowed his eyes slightly.

The three sea domains had once united against the God Clan?

He had heard of that before.

It seemed that the Sea God’s Trident had been damaged during that time.

"I can feel that Kandal was implying something to me, but I am not certain," Feng Tiya said after a pause. "Fang Heng, I will personally make a trip, and you will accompany me."

"Alright, then we’ll go together."

Fang Heng agreed readily.

With Feng Tiya, the Sea Empress, accompanying him, many troubles could be avoided.

Feng Tiya instructed a nearby priest, "Go prepare more gifts. They must be valuable and plentiful. Kandal is protective and cares about face, but if his pride is satisfied, he is still quite easy to deal with."

"Yes, Your Majesty."

...

Feng Tiya, Fang Heng, Lyanna, along with a group of Sea God priests and guards, formed a team of over twenty people and set off together toward the Sea of Nature.

The deep-sea world was extremely vast compared to the outer world, and teleportation points were too far apart to be used continuously. In addition, maintenance costs for underwater teleportation points were too high, so cross-sea teleportation networks were not established.

After two consecutive teleportations to the edge of the deep sea, Feng Tiya opened a spatial passage of the ocean and led everyone through it rapidly.

Inside the passage, terrifying water pressure and deep-sea undercurrents filled the space. If not for Feng Tiya using Sea God power to stabilize the passage ahead, ordinary people would have been crushed instantly upon entry.

Even so, it still took a full four hours to arrive at the Sea of Nature temple.

Just after exiting the passage, two enormous figures slowly approached them from ahead.

Deep-sea giant beasts.

They looked like oversized catfish, over fifty meters in length.

From the giant arms extending from their heads, they held massive sea tridents. They stopped about twenty meters away, and a deep sound wave came from the catfish guards.

"Your Majesty, the Empress, welcome to the Sea of Nature. Lord Kandal is waiting in the underwater palace. Please follow us."

Feng Tiya nodded.

"Thank you for your trouble. These are gifts for Lord Kandal. Please deliver them to the palace first."

"Yes."

The group followed the giant beasts and dived into the depths of the Sea of Nature.

The deeper they went, the darker it became.

After about ten minutes of descent, a massive structure appeared on the seabed ahead.

It could be called a structure, but it was more like a naturally formed cave complex made of coral, rock, and bone, only on an absurdly large scale that covered the entire region, resembling an underwater city.

The giant beasts led them into the city and eventually into the central palace hall.

The hall was dim, illuminated faintly by night pearls embedded in the pillars.

Kandal was coiled deep within the hall.

Fang Heng narrowed his eyes slightly as he examined Kandal’s true form from afar.

One of the Sea Gods, Kandal.

He looked like a fusion between a giant whale and a sea dragon. His body was covered in dark cyan scales, layered with thick moss and small symbiotic sea creatures.

His size was enormous. Just his exposed head was dozens of meters long, while his tail disappeared into the darkness of the deeper palace.

Compared to Feng Tiya, Kandal was more like a colossal deep-sea entity.

Kandal slowly opened his eyes. His murky vertical pupils carried a heavy calmness.

"Feng Tiya."

His voice was deep. "So polite. You bring so many gifts every time you come. You are thoughtful."

Feng Tiya stood before him, slightly raising her head and smiling. "It is only proper. My father often taught me that towards Uncle Kandal, etiquette must always be observed. The three sea domains should support each other; their bond is the most precious."

"That old fellow... he still remembers these things," Kandal muttered. "Pity... he left too early... the bond of the three seas... yet some people no longer remember..."

Suddenly, Kandal’s massive vertical pupils shifted toward the Sea God’s Trident in Feng Tiya’s hand.

"Oh? The Sea God’s Trident?"

His tone carried a hint of surprise, and the waters in the palace trembled slightly, "You repaired it?"

"Just luck," Feng Tiya nodded. "I found a master and spent some time. I finally achieved what I wanted."

"Congratulations. With the Sea God’s Trident repaired, your strength has increased further."
