Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1616: Rejuvenating Mind

Chapter 1616: Rejuvenating Mind

"Calm down," Wu Hong said as she wiped out the blood from her nose, which refused to stop bleeding. A few needles appeared all over her body, followed by an intense power of life entered from the continent’s Samsara Grand Construct, trying to help with the situation.

"Don’t tell me you actually want this title?" Wang Wei asked, remembering who his wife was; she had a love for the spotlight and showing the world how great she was. "Love of my life, my other half, this is not the time to be acting based on personal preference. On the contrary, this is the time to act with cold logic."

"Normally, I would agree with you, but have you forgotten what Maitreya said about the Pillar Foundations?"

Wang Wei frowned.

"The title of Strongest Primal should be a great achievement to add to my list. And after I sanctify, you can take it yourself."

Wang Wei ignored her subtle implications: "Are you ready for the consequences? These invaders..."

"This is not the first time this will happen." During the Second Origin War, she was also at the top of the Assassination List, ranking only below Qiyuan, who was the center of everything.

"This won’t be like the second war. We don’t even know how high the power ceiling involved in this war will be."

"And you think that wasn’t the case in our war?" Wu Hong rebutted.

"You know it’s not the same," Wang Wei sighed. There were likely many Primordial Saints involved in the Second Origin War, but the primary difference is that they did not appear publicly for one reason or another. But the disaster will be different. At its core, this is a war to open up the Transcendent Age, and these entities will start appearing as if they were common dogs in the street.

"Every war has its inherent danger, and this one will also be the same," Wu Hong said. "And do you think I was not already on an assassination list?" Time Eater has been feeding the invaders information for a long time, meaning that before Maitreya and Heavenly Dao created the [History Luck], these people knew of the cultivators with the most tremendous potential who could grow up to cause problems.

"Fine; it seems I can’t change your mind on this matter."

Wu Hong caressed his face. "I understand your instinct to protect me, but don’t forget we are cultivators with our own path. While you chose to be a behind-the-scenes puppeteer for this disaster, I chose to challenge myself and sublimate."

"I understand."

"Good."

"How is your condition?" Wang Wei asked.

"The backlash is not as bad as I thought." After observing her [Existence], Wu Hong used the acupoint technique for target healing. The combination of the pill she bought and the artificial construct did wonders. An idea occurred to her, and she looked at the crown before her, accepting the title.

Heaven and Earth celebrated, but Wang Wei was not happy. He almost wanted to reclaim his Human Emperor Position and bestow the title of the strongest dynasty upon Qin as retaliation. However, he knew this would not work. While these Karmic Positions had the power to grant people titles and blessings, they also needed to be acknowledged by Heavenly Dao. In other words, Ying Zheng’s plan would not have worked if Heavenly Dao had not thought Wu Hong could be the destiny or luck of the Primal Title.

The purest of power from Heaven and Earth entered her body to bless her, and she immediately guided it to the spots in her [Existence] that were severely affected by the backlash. Then, a small part of her white Qi Luck Dragon — about 1% — turned translucent, signaling that she had a bit of Transcendent Luck just like her husband.

However, just like him, Wu Hong did not care much. The last thing any decent cultivator would do is rely on luck for their transcendent path. Just having such a mindset meant the cultivator was not ready for the path ahead.

Wang Wei sighed in relief when she stopped bleeding. Then, his previous anger suddenly returned in even greater intensity. "It’s all Ying Zheng’s fault."

"If you have the opportunity to kill him, contact me, and I’ll help," Wu Hong replied as color returned to her rosy cheeks.

"Good. The next time, we’ll team up to annihilate him," Wang Wei nodded. Wu Hong slowly stood and stretched.

"Where are you going?"

"I need to show myself and control the situation." Everybody on the continent knew how important her existence was, so while they were joyous that she was victorious and even received a title, it would be great for morale if she showed up.

"Now that you mentioned this, I also need to check on the sect. We’ll meet later?"

"It’s a date. And don’t forget to thank Qiyuan for the support. Tell him I’ll come with gifts after I settle everything."

"I will."

Wang Wei returned to the sect, heading directly to Qiyuan’s Origin Mountain. The latter sat cross-legged while keeping an eye on Yan Hai, who was encased in a golden energy orb. Wang Wei frowned as soon as he arrived, and it was not because of her mummified appearance. He could barely sense Yan Hai’s life force, and her aura was the weakest he had ever seen.

"I didn’t know she was in such a terrible state."

"This is the price we must sometimes pay to peep at the path ahead," Qiyuan replied as he invited him to sit next to him. He then explained the situation.

"Ancestor —"

"No need for formalities. You’re basically a Primal now, so you can address me more casually."

"Alright, Qiyuan," Wang Wei said calmly. He was nothing but thick-skinned, so these words flew effortlessly into his mouth. "I’m quite reasonable, so you didn’t have to wait for me to save her."

"I know, but I’ve made the mistake of choosing personal feelings above the sect’s rules, and it almost cost us a bright future. I won’t make the same mistake twice." He summoned the exchange list and bought the beast healing pill within his price range.

Yan Hai was not in a position to swallow anything, so Qiyuan crushed it before injecting its power into her body. In a matter of seconds, her life force returned to the level of a Great Emperor, but her body remained the same. Qiyuan was not surprised. Yan Hai’s situation was not just because she had used that sword while already in a terrible state, but also because she had to force the attack at the last minute and suffered the backlash.

"Don’t worry. The disaster has ample opportunity to gather merit and heal her," Wang Wei reassured.

"Are you cheering me up?"

"What? Can’t I? You’re the one who said to act more casual."

Qiyuan chuckled before sighing deeply. "Do you know how grateful I am to you?"

"Huh? Where is that coming from?"

"Although I don’t remember much, the final trial of the Ultimate Taboo was catastrophic for me. It made it abundantly clear that I had hit a wall. My destiny came to an end, and more importantly, I realized my mind was no longer as it used to be."

"Your mind?"

"That’s right. It started long before that. I first noticed the issue when I tried to enter the Paragon Taboo Realm. Coming up with an idea was way harder than it should be, and that’s when I noticed I had lost much of the creativity I had when I was young.

"During the second war, I could not think or visualize the future past the Ultimate Taboo. I knew there was a high chance of failure and started planning for afterward, but I couldn’t see past it. My analytical mind and experience remained as sharp as ever, but my creativity and ingenuity had mostly faded."

"It seems you were a victim of Grand Dao’s cognitive block," Wang Wei replied. Even he was a victim, hence why his Empyrean Realm was so standardized and largely unoriginal. However, he was still young and did resist a little. But Qiyuan has lived longer than him and fell for it.

"Indeed," Qiyuan nodded. "But ever since returning to limbo and interacting with you, I could feel myself rejuvenating. The flashes of inspiration I often had when I was young slowly returned. My mind seemed freer."

"That means you must be planning some things, right? I always thought it suspicious that everybody was making big moves, while you — the one known for his cunningness — was so quiet."

"I am."

"Can you tell me?"

"In due time," Qiyuan replied. "In fact, I expect you to add your input."

"I can’t wait." Wang Wei could guess a few things. One, Qiyuan is probably waiting for the completion of the [Thirteen Origin Foundation], but that can only be done after finding his father. Secondly, the latter must wait for the Trinity Venerable to show some signs before making any significant move. The last thing they would want is for that bastard to benefit from their actions.

"By the way, Hong’er sends her thanks for the support. She’ll come with a gift after settling things on her side."

"The Origin Seal Continent is one of our greatest allies, just like the Eternal Dream Sect used to be. And now, she’s even family," Qiyuan said calmly. Wang Wei nodded. Then, as he was about to say something, he suddenly sensed something.

"Hm?" he suddenly muttered simultaneously as Qiyuan, and they both looked in the distance. "It seems this fight is about to be settled."

The aura of the Battle Ape Chief and Myriad Star Rabbit had reached the pinnacle, while Primal Mystic Ice and Arcane Flame from the Demon God Cave were rapidly weakening.
