Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1788: Submit or Die

Chapter 1788: Submit or Die

Old Man Black Chess was silent for a few seconds, "To be honest, I’ve had this feeling that something bad was about to happen."

"A warning of danger?" Shen Tian frowned. He did not dismiss such intuition. Cultivators are in harmony with Heaven and Earth, which means they often sense things related to them — especially danger or death.

"But why haven’t I felt anything?" Shen Tian asked. He was a Deva Race, born with immense luck and fortune. So, if there was danger coming, he should have been the first one to sense it.

"This probably means he’ll be in danger, but not us," Nature Wrath said.

"Not necessarily," Old Man Black Chess shook his head. He was confident in his intuition. As a chess master who is used to using Heaven and Earth as a chessboard, his sensitivity to danger might be higher than even a Deva.

Shen Tian wanted to scoff at these words since he understood the old man’s implication. However, he did not allow his arrogance to get the better of him. The secret realm was full of Saints, so he lived with the mindset that anything could happen.

"Do you think something will go wrong with our attack?"

"I don’t know," Old Man Black Chess replied. A chessboard, similar to Go, with black and white pieces, appeared before him. He tried to deduce upcoming danger or fortune, but the result was vague, almost useless. The rules of this world have suppressed his powers too much.

"Interesting. I’ve gone through so much effort to hide the secrets of Heaven and Earth, and you, old man, still sense something amiss."

"Who!"

The expressions of the three of them turned ugly. The secret room had turned into an entire luscious world without them even noticing. Their first thought was that a Saint had interfered, but after seeing who the culprit was, they felt both relieved and scared at once.

"Wang Wei."

"Hello, Fellow Daoist, how have you been?" Wang Wei smiled. As he glanced at them, he confirmed his theory: they were only 2-star Ancestor Fiendgod. Of course, he wouldn’t underestimate them because of that. No one who can rise to the pinnacle of a Source Chaos World should be treated as a simpleton.

Old Man Black Chess was the first to compose himself. He cupped his hands and smiled," Fellow Daoist, it’s a pleasure to meet in this foreign land. Can I invite you for some tea?"

Wang Wei glanced at him. He did not believe for a second this old man hadn’t figured out the Dao Opening Sect was the one trying to stop his alliance with the Divine Faith Heaven, or the one supporting the Water Immortal — although many factions also participated. Yet, the old fox still put on an amiable smile and tried to deal with the situation amicably.

"Your golden tongue is useless," Wang Wei directly stated. "I’m here to give you three an ultimatum: submit and let me control your soul, or die."

"You’re quite audacious, aren’t you?" Shen Tian sneered. "Do you think this is back home, where you are protected by your sect?"

Nature Wrath clicked his tongue, "People praised you a little for your talent, and you let it get to your head."

Wang Wei’s body paused for a moment, his mouth slightly opened. Something dawned on him: these people had no idea how strong he was. According to their information, he’s probably a young Primal, at best B-Class, but only if they give him the benefit of the doubt.

"My apologies for not making myself clear," Wang Wei suddenly smiled. His body released a terrifying aura that shocked the void. The formation he used to create a battlefield for the upcoming resistance started operating at full length to contain Wang Wei’s aura.

"That aura — 5-star Ancestor Fiendgod? That’s impossible," Nature Wrath yelled. Given how this world’s power system operates, he can believe that Wang Wei will reach 2-star. But from there, each star requires a Saint Foundation. So, how could he reach this level so quickly? The only logical explanation is that it already had the foundations, but that’s even more absurd.

How long has it been since Wang Wei became a Primal? Even Wu Hong, the person with the highest cultivation, is only suspected of having condensed two Saint Foundations. There is absolutely no way for someone else so much younger to have surpassed her.

"Father, he must have used a secret technique to improve his aura," Nature Wrath immediately said.

"Shut up!" he roared. He was not stupid. The moment the latter released his aura, he used his technique, Deva True Eyes, to peer at the truth, and he saw the terrifying divine essence flowing through every inch of Wang Wei’s body. After taking a deep breath to calm down, Shen Tian looked Wang Wei in the eyes and asked:

"You dare kill me? You dare kill a Deva? Aren’t you afraid of the luck backlash?"

"You have overestimated your worth," Wang Wei replied with a mocking smile. "This is a world with its own unique laws and rules; it’s hard to say the karmic protection of your Deva Race is still usable in this place.

"And even if you were still protected, I’m a Sage with a peak third-rank Golden Body of Merit. Even if I kill you, I can bear the backlash."

Shen Tian’s expression became more twisted than a deformed tree branch. The truth always hurts. His status as the Deva Race, something he was most proud of — something he always relied on as his shield — proved to be useless in the face of absolute power.

Old Man Black Chess sighed deeply, "Fellow Daoist, why must you do this? If this is about the Limitless Exchange Hall, we can discuss things. I can even help you."

"I know you old fox has already gutted the hall. By now, most of the talented individuals have probably already agreed to join your new faction," Wang Wei sneered. "But that is not in my best interest. A complete hall is in my best interest. Wouldn’t you agree?"

"What about us? We haven’t offended you?" Nature Wrath frowned.

"Haven’t you?"

"Is this about the Mortal Civilization? How can you be so petty? We have apologized," he continued with gritted teeth.

"It’s not just about them," Wang Wei countered. "We all know all the Overlords will survive the arrival of the new age. Unfortunately, your Divine Faith Haven and the Demon God Cave are the likeliest to fall. By eliminating you and controlling the hall, the Dao Opening Sect should receive another boost to our sect’s destiny and luck."

"Is there no room whatsoever for a compromise?" Old Man Black Chess asked with squinted eyes.

"No," Wang Wei calmly replied. "Now, use your last desperate methods. I need a bit of pressure to further sublimate my Willpower Manifestation."

"Damn it. Let’s do it."

"Yes, Father."

Shen Tian summoned a time crystal to cast a spell. A causality line flew from the crystal to somewhere in the distance; to be precise, it connected to a past version of Shen Tian — a version of himself that had mastered 6 Grand Constructs and could still use that level of power. Shen Tian then treated that past self as a [God] and used Divine Art to borrow its power. Nature Wrath did the same, except his strength was only 5 constructs.

"Interesting," Wang Wei pondered. "It seems these guys mastered one more construct right before or during the expedition." The information about them indicated they were much weaker.

"What about you? What’s your next move?"

"I’ll provide assistance," Old Man Black Chess said before fusing with the void. A chessboard projection appeared in the sky before releasing two lights: one white and one dark, each choosing one of the father-and-son duo. Their aura drastically improved, and Wang Wei could tell the blessing was an overall one, boosting strength, speed, defense, stamina, and recovery.

Wang Wei smirked. He could have reminded these two imbeciles that Old Man Black Chess was using them as pawns by letting them fight on the frontline. Meanwhile, the old fox is probably trying to find a way to break the formation and escape this place. However, Wang Wei’s goal is to see if he can condense his Saint Will Prototype, so it’s in his best interest for Shen Tian and his son to go all out rather than fight with reservations or succumb to infighting.

"This should be fun," Wang Wei grinned. His expression fully displayed that the Li Clan’s battle mania also runs through his blood.

[Earth Wrath]

A towering earth humanoid creature reached out and slapped Wang Wei. The palm was not a simple physical attack but a special attack imbued with the wrath of nature. And what is the wrath of nature manifested from the earth? Earthquakes. The power of vibration contained in that one palm was enough to shatter space-time, to destroy worlds, to cause chaos in the fundamental laws of Heaven and Earth.

Unfortunately, he was facing a monster. Wang Wei calmly allowed the attack to hit and asked, "That’s it?"
