Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1801: The Keys

Chapter 1801: The Keys

Wang Wei looked at this black monument, about 30 meters tall, with the characters for the word "willpower" engraved in unique, wonderful calligraphy. With just one look, Wang Wei felt a sense of awe, suppression, and rejection. A fog surrounded the monument and separated all the people cultivating near it.

Knowing he wouldn’t be able to see through this fog, which was a protective mechanism that allowed each user their private space, Wang Wei walked to the cushion in front of the monument and sat down. It didn’t take long for his spirit to travel to an unknown spiritual realm.

At first, he was confused, but Wang Wei soon realized what was happening: he was experiencing a unique form of reincarnation. He couldn’t tell whose life he was experiencing, nor did he know their memories and experiences. The focus was entirely on that individual’s cultivation of their willpower.

At first, the person he was embodying was weak-willed. Wang Wei wasn’t fully aware of what the person’s life was like, but all he knew was that this man was a pushover. He allowed people to bully him, walk all over him, and humiliate him, and he accepted things. Things reached such a low point that he almost took his own life, but "something" had him hope — something rekindled his will to live again. Sadly, that "something" disappeared.

Wang Wei theorized that a person had lost someone he held dear to his heart. And for whatever reason — most likely a grave injustice — the man snapped. The death of his anchor to life did not break his spirit; on the contrary, it ignited his desire for vengeance. The purest hatred forged a terrifying will.

Wang Wei theorized that this man began cultivating at this stage because his willpower was growing at an alarming rate. No mortal could have such a drastic improvement over such a short period. Such improvement could only be the result of his soul and spirit nourishing his mind and willpower.

Wang Wei observed every inch of this man’s willpower’s growth, learning to understand and master every aspect of the concept. Nothing changed for a while until this man finally manifested his willpower, reaching a new stage of development. From then on, Wang Wei also focused on the man’s control and utilization of this power.

At each stage of the Immortal realm (Great Emperor, Empyrean, and Paragon), the intensity of the willpower and its utilization are different. However, each of them offers a unique perspective. Wang Wei did not dismiss their importance; learning as much as possible has increased his [Force Control Skill] even by a small margin, laying the foundation for the Saint Will Prototype.

The next stage was Will Domination. Wang Wei’s attention was at the highest level. However, he had achieved this level of skill and swiftly reached the peak, which was only a manifestation of his talent and the epiphany opportunity he had. When it comes to knowledge and experience about Will Domination, he would never dare call himself an expert or master.

His approach was soon proved correct, as he immediately realized how rough his earlier application of this power had been. In most of his battles, he only used pure power to suppress his enemy and overwhelm them. While this is fine against weaker opponents, such an approach is useless against equal adversaries — let alone more powerful or skilled foes. Luckily, this monument showed him that skills were involved even in the application of Will Domination; it served as a teacher, rapidly guiding Wang Wei so he could catch up as soon as possible.

After experiencing this individual’s mastery of Will Domination, Wang Wei did not immediately move to the next stage. Instead, he asked the monument if he could experience the life of someone else up to that stage. The monument’s spirit or consciousness acquiesced to his request, allowing him to experience countless lives. And Wang Wei did not just experience their Will Domination; instead, he always started from the very beginning, slowly building the best foundation for himself.

After what felt like eons, after laying out the best foundation, best understanding, and best control of Willpower, he returned to the experience of the first man and finally moved on to the Saint Will phase. Although a bit surprised that it was not the Supreme Saint Will, he immediately understood; he cannot start running before walking.

So, without missing even the tiniest change, he experienced the transformation process. The answer or the key he was missing was so obvious after knowing the answer: the Essence Mark. As the embodiment of a body refiner’s understanding of the [Essence], as the key to accessing a higher-dimensional power such as Essence Source, it’s also the best key to fuse the Will Domination with the fleshly body’s characteristics, the mind, the spirit, and even the soul to achieve a Saint Will Prototype.

With the answer handed to him, what happened next was obvious: Wang Wei naturally achieved the second Saint trait. The fusion process was effortless since most of the world had been done. A unique aura was emitted from Wang Wei’s body as he achieved the Fleshy Body’s Saint Will, further boosting the power or attribute of [Rejecting All Phenomena]. He could foresee how powerful this attribute would be at the Saint Realm when his Saint Will is perfectly fused with this [Existence].

"It’s almost time," Wang Wei thought. Now that he had condensed the body-refining Saint Will, it was time to create the Qi-refining version and fuse them. Of course, Wang Wei was not in a hurry. He had barely acquired this new power and knew nothing about it, so his current priority was to master it.

For the next couple of billion years, he focused on experiencing the Willpower Cultivation of every individual memorialized in that monument. He only took breaks in between to use the Holy Land’s version of the Battle Tower to help his mastery. After all, what he learned from the monument is more of an advanced theory; he also needs hardcore practice in the form of real battles.

"Let’s begin," Wang Wei muttered. The monument spirit was frank with Wang Wei and revealed that it only contained two individuals who had successfully condensed a Supreme Saint Will. After a swift deliberation, Wang We chose the founder or creator of these methods as the first experience.

Everything started with the Qi Refining Saint Will. The process followed a similar pattern to the body-refining path, with slight differences. First, the Dao Will does not evolve into something similar to Will Domination. Instead, it evolved into a second and more potent state.

One of the fundamental rules of the Chaos Universe is the Law of Balance. The Will Domination can suppress the [Eternal Attribute] of Qi Refiners and reduce their cultivation to the level of a mortal. So, how can they fight back? The answer is the second-stage Dao Will. With its power, a Qi Refiner can resist the Will Domination of a Body Refiner.

Wang Wei has been using the Dao Will for most of his life. Compared to the people of this world, who only started cultivating after reaching the Ancestral Fiendgod Realm, he had too many advantages. As such, after only experiencing it once, he mastered this power. He also reached the peak in a short period — just like he did for Will Domination; the process was probably even faster.

The next step was evolving the second-stage Dao Will into a proper Qi Refiner Saint Will Prototype with the attribute or power of [Suppressing All Phenomena]

"Qi Refiners only acquire their attribute after condensing the Saint Will, while a top-tier body refiner can do it after entering the Ancestral Fiendgod Realm," Wang Wei analyzed. "While it appears one side is better, it’s still about balance. The methods of Qi Refiners are too varied — especially their means of revival. Body refiners need something to keep up and balance things with them."

Upon analyzing everything from the perspectives of a pure Qi Refiner and a Body Refiner, both paths are balanced. One has variation and complex attack patterns, while the latter has survivability and self-preservation from these varied means. Of course, cultivating both paths simultaneously — while challenging — was the best approach.

The next step of this training plan was to combine the second-step Dao Will with the cultivator’s Origin Law — which is this world’s version of the Grand Dao Source — their soul, mind, spirit, and Dao Ambition, which is the goal, dream, or pursuit of a cultivator, such as Wang Wei’s pursuit of absolute freedom.

Wang Wei experienced everything, and for a moment, he was perplexed by the medium used to combine them. However, upon closer analysis, he realized it was this world’s version of a Dao Imprint. However, in this world, people call it Qi Mark.

"It seems I can’t condense my Supreme Saint Will in this world," Wang Wei thought. His Dao Imprint and even access to his Grand Dao Source were not possible in this world or even Timeline NP89076H. So, for now, he can only use an incomplete Supreme Saint Will, but that should do for now.

As he glanced at this tower, an idea suddenly popped into his head. "Essence, Qi, and Spirit. Body Refining has Willpower Manifestation; Qi Refining has Dao Will; and they both eventually lead to their own Saint Will Prototype. What about the Spirit? What about Soul Refiners?"
