Chapter 2046: One Month Of Training
’Why did it have to be something like that?’ Grey complained internally as he felt a hint of frustration. To be honest, when he spoke with the gray-haired beastman and inquired about the treasure, the vague reply of the gray-haired beastman made him suspect that there was a possibility the treasure might be something like this.
According to what Void told him, the lava before them had an underground chamber that gathers a shocking level of lightning elemental essence. Every century or so, the members of the Tempest Fang Clan would come here and the top experts as well as those regarded as geniuses would come here to cultivate and absorb the lightning elemental essence to strengthen themselves. It had been hundreds of years since this place was discovered, and the Tempest Fang Clan still had not been able to find out the secret to the gathering of the lightning essence. Since it was not something that was harmful to them, they stopped searching and only focused on the benefits.
Taking all this into consideration, it meant that the lightning essence under the lava would most likely be fully absorbed in a short time frame, so if he leaves now, there was a high chance that by the time he finished recuperating, the gray-haired beastman and those from his clan would have wiped this place clean. Meaning he would have to wait for another hundred years before he would get his chance. Would he be able to come back here a hundred years from now? Would he still be alive then? What if the Gnomes succeeded in invading their world?
With so many questions in his head, along with the urgency to grow stronger, Grey gritted his teeth and threw caution to the wind.
’I’ll stay and cultivate here until the essence dries up!’
Making up his mind, he turned to his friends. With the exception of Klaus, Alice, Reynold, and Void would be able to benefit greatly from this place since they all had the lightning element. With this thought in mind, they had to discuss their plans.
After some discussion, Klaus decided he would wait for them. Although they could separate for the rest of the time here, Klaus did not want to do that now. Especially with Grey not being in full strength.
It did not take long for them to decide, and it took even less time before they dived into the lava and disappeared along with the four Peak Sovereigns.
Klaus stood outside the lava with a calm expression, unbothered by the other beastmen around him who were discussing in a frenzy. After killing the top experts from the Tempest Fang Clan, most of the others were captured. Unlike Grey who had Void’s help to communicate with these beastmen, he did not. He soon found a quiet place and entered into a state of meditation.
Time flew by as they all focused on cultivating.
Before long, a month went by in the blink of an eye.
During this one month, Klaus had stayed in a self made underground chamber not too far from the lava pool. There were also countless holes on the ground of the valley, indicating the presence of others.
Klaus, who was deep in meditation, suddenly felt a commotion outside and opened his eyes. Adjusting his clothes, he strolled out of the chamber to welcome the sight of Reynolds floating above the lava pool, his body covered in beautiful silvery arcs like a God of lightning.
A second later, Alice appeared beside him. Her appearance was not as breathtaking as Reynolds, but it left one speechless nonetheless. Her eyes radiated a cold light, and if one looked deep into her eyes, they would see the occasional flashes of lightning in them.
Contrary to these two, Grey and Void did not even appear above the lava, they directly appeared beside Klaus like they had nothing to do with the lava pool. One could not even sense any chances in them, unlike Reynolds and Alice.
Grey’s face was fully rosy, a sign that he had healed from his injuries. Even if not fully, he was at least not afraid of the attacks from the gray-haired beastman and his companions any longer.
"Your gains were not little." Klaus commented. He could sense that both Alice and Reynolds’ auras were at the very limit of the Seventh stage of the Sovereign Plane, showing signs of breaking through to the Eighth stage any moment now. At the thought of Reynolds who still had the lightning crystal, Klaus could not help but sulk internally, ’I need to improve as soon as possible too!’
"Only so-so." Grey commented.
Most of the time inside the chamber was spent in healing his injuries. He did not waste the opportunity and indeed did absorb the lightning essence in the room, but given his current cultivation, there was only so much that could be done. He was already very close to the Ninth stage of the Sovereign Plane, and had thought a place like this would be able to help him cross that bridge, he never expected that in a moment of complacency, he would let his guard down and nearly lose his life in the end. If not for his injuries, he would have succeeded in breaking through to the Ninth stage of the Sovereign Plane within the month.
Alice and Reynolds flew over to speak with Klaus and Grey. While the group were conversing, the aura of four Peak Sovereigns spread out from the lava as the gray-haired beastman and his companions came out of the lava. The aura they exuded had a sparkly feel to it, as if they could shock anything that came within a certain range of them.
They turned their gazes to Grey and his companions and walked over.
A few more weaker beastmen rushed out of the lava pool one by one, the lightning essence inside had been completely depleted and they would have to wait for another hundred years before they could think of using it again. Nevertheless, the gains they obtained were obviously satisfactory as one could see that they were all smiles.
