Chapter 2075: Your Lives Holds No Value
"You want to meet the emissary?" Natt looked at Grey as if he was staring at a fool. Who would want to meet the emissary who’s a Peak Sovereign while just being a Ninth stage Sovereign? He would not deny the fact that Grey was a freak of nature, but he did not think it would be possible for him to fight the emissary even when he was in peak condition, much less after going through such a long fight.
"Of course, is he someone I can’t meet?" Grey laughed when he saw Natt’s reaction.
"Hmph! The likes of you can’t meet the emissary willy-nilly." Natt snorted coldly.
"I’ve even met your Emperor so many times." Grey replied with an even more arrogant demeanor as he added, "Do you think a mere emissary is something to me?"
Natt almost stumbled to the ground when he heard this. Grey’s arrogance knew no bounds. This was the first human who was not a Necromancer to dare make such statements. One has to know that even since the invasion started, the Emperor had not made an appearance in the human world. He gave out orders from the comfort of his palace.
"Hahaha, you’re crazy, kid. I thought you were arrogant, but now that I think about it, you’re just a fool." Natt laughed as if he had heard the funniest joke.
"If you’re not going to be of use to me, then there’s no need keeping you alive." Saying this, Grey took a step forward, ready to attack, only to see Natt fall to his knees.
"If you promise to let me live, I’ll take you to the emissary." Natt offered.
"He’s already coming here, so even without you, I’ll meet him regardless." Grey stretched forth his hand, grabbing Natt by the neck.
Natt tried to struggle but could not, he hurriedly added, "Since you kill old Borg, the emissary will most likely not come here. But I can send him a message letting him know that after a gruesome fight we managed to capture an intruder."
"Oh, there’s a way for him to know when I killed that guy?" Grey was a little taken aback. He did not expect the Gnomes to go to such lengths, after all, there were just too many Gnomes, refining the items needed to achieve this was by no means easy.
"Only Ninth and Eighth stage Sovereigns are implanted with it. So like me, the two others still have it." Natt explained, seeing Grey contemplating, he continued, "You want to meet the emissary right, you want the treasure there too right? Leave me and my brothers alive and that will be possible."
Grey stayed quiet for a few seconds and asked, "What about the humans, are they tagged too?"
"Who cares about those trash? Their life and death is not something we bother ourselves with." Natt said in disdain, his expression suddenly changed when he recalled that Grey was also human. He quickly added, "You can not be considered trash, even to us."
Grey chuckled before flicking his fingers as a light shot straight into the body of Natt. Natt felt his essence sealed, and also a new seal being placed in his heart.
"I believe you know what that is. Contact the emissary, we’ll go pick up your friends to wait for him." Grey let go of Natt’s neck.
Natt fell to the ground on his butt, before picking himself back up and bringing out a disc-like token. This token was made from pure gold, and the inscriptions on it were spectacular. Grey’s curiosity towards arrays was piqued and he snatched the golden token from Natt’s hand even before he could contact the emissary.
"Interesting, I’ll have to study this thing later." He tossed the token back to Natt after observing it for a few seconds. He did not have too much time as he also needed to stop the other Gnomes from escaping. There were also the humans who needed to be killed on the spot.
Natt took the token and poured his spiritual sense into it. The arrays on the golden token lit up before a ball of golden light shot out of it, easily passing through the seal Void and the bunny leader set.
"I’ve contacted him to tell him of how we were attacked and old Borg’s fall. From the ray of the light, I can tell he should be an hour or so away." Natt explained.
Grey nodded, impressed by this golden token even more. He grabbed Natt with an arm made from the wind element and shot straight to the sky, heading towards Void’s location. When he got there, Void was harassing two human Eighth stage Sovereigns.
Grey materialized in front of them in an eerie manner, giving them a jumpscare. When they saw the floating wind arm holding onto Natt, they knew he had been captured.
’Doesn’t that mean he takes prisoners?’
Hope was reignited in the eyes of the two Eighth stage Sovereigns. One of them was the Faction Leader in purple attire, without hesitation he quickly knelt to the ground and said, "We are willing to surrender as long as you spare our lives."
The other Eighth stage Sovereign, although ashamed, knelt down as well.
Grey stood over them like a God dishing out judgement as he said, "I only take prisoners with value. At the moment, your life holds no value."
Saying this, he attacked. Void attacked as well, making it easier to take down the duo. The duo tried to fight back with all their might, but in the presence of Grey and Void who could make use of their space elements again, there was no chance for them.
"Where’s the bunny leader?" Grey asked after killing the duo.
The bunny leader appeared when he heard Grey’s question. Understanding what Grey wanted, he led them in the direction of the others who had been located by his bunnies. They first went ahead to capture the other two Gnomes, before killing off all the humans.
