Chapter 2515: Smooth
With a wave of his hand, a bunch of puppets flew out. They looked like flying saucers.
They were eight of them and they spread out evenly.
Another small flying saucer flew over them, with glowing red. All nine of them created a formation. The flying saucer at the top, transferred the fire energy to the rest. The eight puppets evenly distributed the heat into the pond and Sam at the same used his water and metal element to move the blood and the Blood iron inside it.
And that’s what he was doing. From the blood of the Land crocs, he was harvesting the blood Iron. Since the creatures themselves were big, they had a lot of blood which is a lot of blood iron. And since they don’t have any elemental affinity, the blood iron is naturally purer, more neutral. It has a wider range of use cases.
And it wasn’t just the blood.
Sam harvested the leather from the creatures, and he was even testing the internal organs to see if it can be made into anything.
Right now, Darkhan is a treasure trove.
But Sam and his team, including the managers are relatively weak here. Sam also knew that even though he is safe currently, it was only a matter of time he gets caught.
So, he needs to prepare as much as possible and one of the means to do that is utilize whatever resources he got to the maximum efficiency.
Unfortunately, he didn’t find a ore mine in the vicinity that he could make use of, so he could get what he can from the blood he found.
....
Meanwhile, outside.
The teams were extremely cautious. For some reason, they felt a bit unsafe and even a bit exposed.
The trio along with Night Ghost were the first ones to get to their target.
The massive Varanid is big enough to carry of them for a joy ride. It was attached to a large rock and the moment the four of them arrived, it already spotted them.
They didn’t waste any time.
"I am activating the formation, make your move."
Philip activated the barrier. Night Ghost used his special specter to try and put the Varanid in an illusion. Watt started using his wind blades, multiple of them to attack all the possible vitals of the Varanid at the same time.
Jack closed in on the creature, while observing the reaction to the wind blades.
He checked how much damage the wind blade was doing and narrowed on one exact spot where the wind blade made a bigger nick than the rest of the windblades.
Jack made the best move he could from that distance. One that targets both the body and the soul...
The barrier was activated. The Varanid of course, couldn’t care less about the barrier, the illusion didn’t work on it that well.
The wind blades were about as much harmful as a mosquito bite, or rather a paper cut. The only thing it paid attention to was the sword strike, which found its way to the creature at a speed which surprised it.
*BANG*
The flesh was so thick, the blade of the sword barely made its way into it.
Jack immediately stepped back and they all exchanged a glance.
"Not even a drop of blood... we got our work cut out for us."
Jack said as he looked at the training sword. Maybe black meteorite would have done a better job....
"Let’s do this..." And the battle began.
The battle was intense, all four of them had to fight crazily since they didn’t know its weak points. And it too two hours before they actually took it down.
And by the time, the fight was done...
The barrier was taken down.
The group of four collapsed on the ground, panting as they looked at the creature in front of them. Philip had a bite wound on his shoulder, which he tried to heal fast with a healing medicine
In the middle, the Varanid...
Almost like a lump of flesh. There are several cuts. Dozens of them on its body, and most of them are not clean. And most of those wounds were burned, laced with metallic compounds. Its mouth was mangled.
Its head was roughed up pretty well, with several of its joints distorted and broken.
"He is not going to like this, is he?"
"Nope. No doubt about it."
They sighed in unison, before packing the beast up and moving to the next target. The other groups were not better off. In fact, they were in a worse situation. Since there were only three members and they are already fighting with a handicap of not being able to use their own weapons properly.
On top of that, the beast is stronger than them.
It was a freaking nightmare.
Time passed...
By deadline, they returned to the cave with their loot.
Not a single person was uninjured. Broken bones, bite wounds, bruises, swellings, you name it. They were battered really badly.
And they were kinda expecting Sam to help them heal quickly. But instead of that, they were met with something else.
"I am going to repair your suits. And I will realign your bones and joints. You have to heal while cultivating. No more healing meds."
And the guys went through the most painful cultivation experience of their lives.
For the next seven days, this was the routine for everyone. Managers were focusing on battle, and eating.
Sam’s friends were focusing on digesting the inheritance and fighting.
Sam was focusing on cooking, experimenting and handling their schedule.
It was almost peaceful. Except the managers had to kill a land croc every day. Granted that their energy control and battle instinct improved, it was a very exhausting task.
The only saving grace was the food they had every night. It just tasted so good and filling. In fact, they had to overnight and even formed a habit of sleeping a bit.
So, while Sam’s camp was having a good time, these seven days went very miserably for someone else.
