Re-Birth of a Genius. Creator/Destroyer

Chapter 2518: Plight

Chapter 2518: Plight

Everyone exchanged a glance and didn’t know what to say.

Their worries were for a naught.

They just decided to focus on their own cultivation.

Even the managers felt a bit threated by how nonchalant Sam had been with the cultivation increase. They didn’t see him ingest an inheritance like the rest, so if he actually managed to increase the strength just from consuming the flesh of the land crocs and other beasts... they could only wonder how fast he would be with the inheritance.

They just put in extra work.

Icarus on the other hand still had something weighing on his heart.

Just like Sam said, he kinda felt the whole war has been blown out of proportion. It felt too surreal.

Sure, he felt so happy about everything and even excited when they were destroying one academy after the other.

In a way, his and the rest of the managers’ contribution is not even that much when compared what Sam managed to achieve.

All the anger he felt for the academies, felt quelled all of a sudden, which caused him this problem. Even though Ivar was more vocal and more direct with his thirst for vengeance against Thor academy. Icarus was the angriest of them all.

He wanted to destroy Zeus academy, more than anyone that wanted anything in this world.

But now that the Zeus academy became a shell of what it was used to be, he suddenly felt so empty. And there is another feeling deep inside his heart.

Guilt.

He watched the kids, Sam and his friends, who are much younger than him. Maybe at least half a century younger or even more, and now they are like fugitives... locked in this world where danger looms over every corner.

In his heart he had a feeling that maybe, he shouldn’t have agreed to Sam’s proposal at all.

Sam had so much potential. He could have been anything.

For him, even without the tricks and twists, the revenge would have just been a matter of time.

But now... Icarus felt guilty.

That’s why he was asking Saber Monarch and the rest about how they feel fighting with Sam.

In his mind, he imagined himself to be the one that led this revenge and Sam was the one fighting for him...

And since he believed it wholeheartedly... he didn’t know how to repay Sam for this.

Not just Sam, he felt like everyone of Sam’s friends are in this state because of him...

Not even Ivar figured this out. But Sam noticed the difference...

Still, Icarus realized that at least he shouldn’t let this guilt hold him back. The least he could do right now is follow Sam’s instructions and make sure that they meet their current targets.

...

Meanwhile, back in the Seas.

After Bloody Chariot discovered the landmass, he felt like he got his lost life back. It was the happiest moment of his life.

But the problem was, that his instincts were still screaming that he was still in danger.

He travelled slowly, hoping that there is nothing that’s going to attack him.

In twenty-four hours, he was already close to the landmass. Exactly a mile away and he could cover that up in seconds, even at that speed.

And that’s when the real trouble has shown.

As soon as he tried to get to the landmass...

*SPLASH*

He found himself in the water pillar again. His spear slammed against the pillar again, blasting it with all the force that he could muster. He didn’t try to pull his punches anymore. There is no point. He knew whatever’s under water is far more dangerous that he could estimate.

Because until now, he is using almost all of his strength to deal with it... But it was just playing water pillar game.

He needed to get on the land immediately. Whatever threat that was on the land, he would deal with it later.

Luckily, the water pillar didn’t have the creatures like before.

Since he is very close to the land, the waters are too shallow. The creatures won’t fit, in this space. And the smaller creatures wouldn’t pose any threat to him.

However, that didn’t give him relief. Not after he felt the pressure from the surrounding water in the pillar.

It was dense. So dense. He felt like he was moving through clay or even mercury. Not, water. That was definitely not the sensation someone gets from water.

He tried to move his spear, destroy the dense feeling, but he couldn’t.

Bloody Chariot felt as weak as when he was a mortal. It was a sense of weakness that he doesn’t even remember feeling. Even that memory seemed so far and faded, it felt like it didn’t belong to him.

He gritted his teeth and held his breath.

The next moment blood colored energy manifested around him and created a chariot under his feet. He tried to charge out of the water pillar. Blood seeped out of his body, entering the chariot, strengthening it.

But even that wasn’t enough.

Bloody Chariot felt the wave of exhaustion slowly envelop him. He felt panicked for the first time in centuries.

And he hated it.

That made his resolve stronger.

Golden energy, that didn’t look like regular golden energy surrounded his body. It felt like tiny, miniscule golden sparkles moved together. It looked like it didn’t belong in that world.

And true to that, the water around him started crackling. Yes, didn’t move away or ripple. It crackled as if it touched something that it shouldn’t touch.

The golden sparkles, enveloped the chariot and with a charge, it dragged him out.

Like a golden flash, Bloody Chariot escaped the water pillar and fell on the ground.

The chariot disappeared. He laid sprawled on the ground with wet stand sticking to his drenched body.

The golden energy disappeared. Blood seeped out of his pores, nostrils, eyes, ears and even his mouth.

He felt weak and useless.

But his eyes are locked in on the water pillar that is yet to disappear...
