Chapter 2589: Formations
The two opponents who challenged Bhim gulped nervously.
They exchanged a glance before nodding in agreement.
"Let’s go. We will talk at the Arena. Too many people here."
Bhim and the other two disappeared instantly.
Next, two late stage cultivators came and issued a similar challenge, but this time to Naka. The next two late stage consummate cultivators challenged Saha.
The remaining four late stage cultivators came forward and challenged two other power houses of Hastin village who were also at the late stage.
Then two Peak stage cultivators came and issued the challenge to Yudhi. The village master.
Throughout the process, the opponents admitted that they are inferior to the people of the Hastin village and issued only two versus one challenge, with those golden scrolls.
Parth didn’t even move or resist. Only when finally it was time for Myrmon and Shin to make a move, did he open his eyes.
"Don’t tell me, even you guys are trying to use the golden scrolls to issue 2 Vs 1 challenge?"
Myrmon took a deep breath, and almost wanted to cover his face up in shame. But he still answered.
"We have no choice. You can blame us if you want. But you have to blame yourself as well. Your Hastin village has grown way too arrogant.
When you grew too powerful, instead of giving in to satiate the insecurities of the rest of the factions, you acted superior.
You fuelled our resentment and even arrogantly issued the golden scrolls, which the owners can use to challenge you guys based on their own terms.
To be honest, you just left this loophole for yourself. The blame is absolutely on you."
Hearing Myrmon’s long winded justification, Parth just smiled.
"All I asked was if you wanted to do the same as well. I didn’t mean anything by it. When did you become so defensive Myrmon?"
All he got in return was a snort.
Parth didn’t even look at Shin, but the latter was already looking at the ground in shame.
"Anyway, don’t worry about things like face and pride at this point. You guys already made your bed, might as well sleep in it.
Issue the challenge."
Myrmon and Shin extended the golden scrolls. Parth took both of them and all three of them disappeared.
The trio appeared in an open field. Far way from Hastin village. There was nothing in the field, not even a blade of grass. Only black colored clayey land beneath them.
"I knew you guys were up to something when you cleared this wasteland."
Parth said casually, and tapped the land. He could sense something different from the land, even though he is extremely familiar with it.
"Before we start, may I know why you made such a decision?"
Parth asked again. He looked at the two men and felt a bit nostalgic. They were friends once. Despite being in rival factions, they shared quite a few memories together. They grew up together, learned together, grew together.
To think that they would end up in such a situation after going through so much.
"You are too powerful, Parth.
Not just you. Everyone in Hastin village. Naka as a late stage cultivator can deal with Peak stage people without much effort. Saha with his formations could probably take a dozen peak stage cultivators if he had enough prep time.
Your brother Bhim... he gave me such a beating as a kid, I still can’t get over those nightmares.
Yudhi is probably the only normal one. But something tells me that I would be a moron if I believed that.
Then finally you. You just grew too much. You have been ahead of the rest of the bunch from the start. When we reached the peak, just when I thought we ended up as equals, you started breaking ceilings. The world suppressed us from becoming gods. We saw countless ancestors just kill themselves, or die trying to break that restriction, to seek higher power.
But you... you were gaining more power, without even triggering the restriction at all.
You just showed us my place...putting us down without even trying.
Now, when you brought that outside kid and protected him like that, so decisively...we couldn’t do shit against that decision.
That just showed us how powerless we are.
At this rate, you would end up becoming the ruler of the whole planet and you need to go before that happens."
"Okay then, shall we discuss the wager?"
"Please do. It is your right."
"All of your territory. Today, I am going to kill you and will claim all of your territory as my own and gift it to my new student.
If I die, anyway you are not going to let Hastin village go. So, I am not going to hold back anymore. Get ready."
Myrmon and Shin looked at each other and nodded.
Fight began.
But it wasn’t a massive move or a killer blow that came at him. Instead, the energy in the surroundings surged. Several spheres made out of the black soil came out of the ground... They flew over... the small spheres surrounded the whole field.
A formation dome was created.
Parth felt the weird energy that he first noticed in the field.
"Sam is indeed right. You guys... you are not smart enough for him to worry about so much.
If you are really going to do the exact same thing as he said... then you are not going to win. After the next few days, I might really own the whole planet."
Parth flexed his body a little bit...
Meanwhile, somewhere far away, Bhim didn’t have such a long ass conversation like Parth did. Instead, he stood in the middle of another empty land. He was not levitating and instead just stood there on the ground with his barefeet.
A golden dome covered the whole area and an invisible pressure, pressed on him. His muscles felt extremely stressed, he felt like his whole body became ten times heavier.
But on his face, there was still that smirk...which made the others uneasy.
