Chapter 2602: Bamboo forest

Chapter 2602: Bamboo forest

"Alright, what would you get if you win?" And she took the bait.

Sam is not letting that go of course. He already decided that he is going to make the most out of the situation now.

"I am not going to ask for more. The same thing I asked the other guy. You need to clear territory for me. That’s all."

"Alright. But one clarification, by below transcendent stage, you mean, the cultivators only up to pretranscendent stage, or even the transcendent stage cultivators are allowed.

Because if it’s the first case, then the fight won’t be fair."

"My bad. I wasn’t clear enough. Anyone from peak stage transcendent and below. You can do whatever you want as long as you meet these requirements."

"I have another condition as well."

"And what would that be?"

"You cannot use some stupid loophole to rope in those worms as part of the bamboo forest defenses. That means, even if you already built them and hid them under the bamboo forest beforehand, you cannot use them.

Otherwise, this would just be a gigantic trap.

If you are okay with it, then we can proceed with the plan. Or, we would just duke it out like we originally planned to do."

Sam didn’t reply. He just stayed silent for a while. Showing no expression on his face.

Parna could hear her heart pounding in her ears. She is anxious, but she used all of her decades of experience to suppress any possible cracks on her façade.

Because right now, she doesn’t really have any cards. Just like the rest of her troop member mentioned, there is no way into the dome at the moment.

Sam coming up with this deal is an opportunity in itself. Now, she is just trying to push her luck to see she could at least isolate the snakes from being part of the opponents.

But all of it depends whether Sam would agree to it or not.

If Sam is as smart as she thinks he is, then he wouldn’t. But after all, there is such a thing as the man’s pride. She is counting on it.

After a few seconds that felt like minutes, Sam smiled and said.

"Agreed."

He turned around and walked away.

Parna heaved a sigh. But at the same time, she had a small gnawing feeling in the back of her head. Because the fact that Sam agreed so readily... means he is either too cocky or too prepared. She hoped it is the former.

She shook those thoughts off and called for her troops.

Hundreds of people starting from initial stage transcendence to peak stage transcendence. All of them were prepared. Divided into small teams of five, they all had only one task. Reach the other end and fight with the cultivators of Hastin village.

That’s it.

They will have open access to Hastin village along with the glory of being the one to break this impregnable defence.

The strongest village will go down in their hands.

Meanwhile...

Sam looked at his friends and said.

"You guys better not embarrass me. Have fun out there."

All of them donned their exo-suits. They are just at initial stage of pre-transcendence. There is no way they can deal with people at the peak stage of transcendence. At least not without backup.

And Sam prepared it in abundance.

The exo-suits are just a part of it.

Of course, there is still a lot of risk. After all fighting people that are a thousand times stronger than them is practically suicide... but Sam knows that while he can personally use all kinds of tricks to deal with the higher tier opponents, his friends do not have enough means.

And the way he stirred the pot back in the academy realm...he knows for a fact that they would try their absolute best to kill him no matter what.

He needs to protect his friends and this war is going to be their practice run.

His friends went into the bamboo forest and took their positions.

Sam took his seat at the crystal table. He zoomed into on the bamboo forest zone.

*SWOOSH*

The opponents moved. Hundreds of cultivators, all spread out in the vast forest. Everyone aiming to cover the forest as soon as possible and reach the other end....

But just a couple of steps in...

*BOOM* *BOOM* *BOOM*

Explosions...

Nobody sensed it. Nobody saw them coming. But every single infiltrator of the bamboo forest experienced it.

None of them are seriously injured. Its barely a scratch. But almost all of them stopped. Because they are too shocked and too scared to move.

They cannot identify where the explosion came from. It hit them right at their feet

There are no signatures left behind indicating a formation trap. They didn’t sense anything flying towards them. They didn’t notice any projectiles, or any person attacking.

There was no mounted weapon nearby.

Screw all of that, there was not even an energy fluctuation that they could sense.

They are all confused.

But they don’t have a lot of time to just stand there and wait. They moved, but this time, every one of them kept their senses at high alert. They moved slower.

*SWOOSH*

Another round of attacks.

*BOOM* *BOOM* *BOOM*

The energy explosions happened wherever they set their feet.

The couple of unlucky people even got their feet blown off.

Screams rang through the bamboo forest.

One of the squad leaders realized the situation and said.

"Levitate. Don’t run. This seems tricky. There are no energy fluctuations when the attacks are coming. But we can’t waste too much time trying to figure it out.

Just levitate and dash to the other end."

Similar orders were given to all the squads. Even if the squad leaders themselves, didn’t realize it, they just copied the other squads.

They levitated and dashed forward, manuevering the bamboo forest skillfully...

And then all of a sudden...

*BAM* *BAM* *BAM* *BAM*

The sounds of flesh clashing against flesh rang through the whole forest, echoing all over.

"ARGHHH...."

And wild screams followed.
