Chapter 3621 Belonging to the Demons

Chapter 3621 Belonging to the Demons

Alex's eyes grew wide in a fit of panic.

Could it be possible? Had Shumi told them about the World Tree?

Shumi had explained just how much of a devotee the demons were to the Moon Goddess. At the same time, in the absence of the Moon Goddess, the thing they treated as their other true god was none other than the World Tree.

In the war, it was what had helped them gain more cultivators despite them certainly lacking compared to the humans in terms of resources. That was the reason alone why the demons could last as long as they did in the war.

The moment the World Tree had been destroyed, the demons had lost the war as well.

Considering the importance of the World Tree, Shumi had promised him that she would not tell her people about it or else it would start another war all on its own.

And yet, here was one of the demons, asking for their stuff back.

Alex shoved all of his feelings regarding the situation as deep as he could, taking in a deep breath as he confronted the demon before him.

"I don't know what senior is talking about," he said. "I have nothing that belongs to the demons."

"Oh! But that isn't true though," Ravenwing said, her smile growing wider as though she had caught him in a lie. "Our Holiness made it perfectly clear that you had it. There is no reason to lie."

The Sky God intervened before the situation became more volatile. "Why are you wasting your time on a junior, Ravenwing? What could he possibly have that belongs to your people?"

Ravenwing turned around, taking a moment to let the silence linger. "I am, of course, talking about his physique," she said.

"My… physique?"

Alex felt a sense of relief upon realizing that she wasn't talking about the tree at all. Instead…

"Yes, your physique," the demon said. "You have the Undying God's Physique, don't you? You are the current Undying God."

Her words caused a commotion among the group that even the Sky God could not suppress. Such public information was bound to spread quickly now that the civilians were aware of it.

The Sky God could place a gag order on everyone there, but she could tell that there was absolutely no point at all. What would be the purpose anyway?

All the gods already knew about his Undying Physique, and now it was clear that the demons did too. Everyone it had to be kept from was already aware of the truth, so there was no more point in hiding it at all.

"The Undying Physique belongs to the demons," Ravenwing continued. "You should return it to us."

Perhaps because Alex had been so worried about her knowing about the World Tree, the information about his Undying Physique being out barely made him panic at all. He didn't even feel nervous in the slightest.

Instead, he simply looked back at the Celestial demon and shrugged lightly.

"Why would the Undying God's Physique belong to the demons, senior?" Alex asked. "Is there any definite reason?"

"It does because that is who the first Undying God was. It is a legacy of us demons," she said.

Alex shook his head. "I don't believe that. The Undying Physique is the inheritance left behind for the future generation. Nowhere is it required for it to be a demon who has to gain it. If there was such a requirement, I wouldn't have gotten it, would I?"

"I don't know how you received it, but it belongs to the demons. Speaking in semantics and loopholes won't change the fact that your physique should belong to the demons," she said. "You have to give it back."

Alex shrugged. "Then you can take it back, senior. You just have to kill me first."

Ravenwing's fingers twitched upon hearing that. She controlled her emotions, staring directly at Alex through her veil. Around her, the other Celestials were already beginning to protect or attack should the need arise.

After a short time, she let out a soft sigh and just walked along. She said not a word after that.

The people in the area were quickly made to leave, while Ravenwing teleported away from the place with a few different gods, including the Divination God. Alex was a little surprised to see the Divination God doing anything.

Once they were gone, Alex turned to walk back to the palace. He looked toward his daughter, who stood next to Greensoul, who held a similar expression of stunned surprise.

Alex's expression turned strange as well. "Um… what's wrong?"

"Father…" Ronron spoke up slowly. "How did you do it?"

Alex narrowed his eyes. "Do what?"

"Talk back to a Celestial," Greensoul said. "Are you suicidal perhaps? How could you even think it's a good idea to goad a Celestial into attacking you?"

Alex scratched the back of his head. Now that he thought about it, he had done exactly that, hadn't he?

"Well, there were so many other Celestials around, I didn't think I was in any danger," Alex said.

"Not now, but Celestials live for a long time, and so do the grudges they hold," Greensoul said. "Not to mention, she could have really just killed you and considered the consequences later. I told you, didn't I? Ravenwing is a madwoman."

Hearing Greensoul's explanation, any dread that had left Alex's body slowly returned to him.

'What was I thinking, talking back to a Celestial?' he thought.

After being around many Celestials such as his master, the beast patriarchs, the Sky God, and the Divination God, Alex had grown comfortable with treating the Celestials as no more than his seniors. As such, he found them easy to talk to.

However, he had to remember that was not the case at all. If they so wished, they could simply think him out of existence. He simply could not afford to be this comfortable around them at all.

"You!" the Sky God's voice came just then. "Come with me. We have some things to talk about."
