Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3707: The Sun’s Power

Chapter 3707: The Sun’s Power

The Divinity scoffed.

"Do what you think you can."

Nothing happened for the first few seconds. And then, there came a very subtle buzz from within Alex, one that could have been missed by even the Divinity, if not for the smoke that emerged from him as well.

The smoke was thin at first, but it quickly grew thick as it escaped through the clothes around his chest. Then, even his clothes burned away, drifting into embers and leaving behind charred flesh on his chest that struggled to spread outward.

Before the Divinity could react, a blast of heat struck him, immediately stripping away the Qi around his body. In a panic, he covered himself in Qi to protect himself. He was protected, but that did not stop him from recognizing what he was feeling.

This was the power one felt when they were outside of the atmosphere that protected them.

This was the power of the sun itself.

From inside of himself, Alex was burning like the sun.

’The Sun God!’ the man thought, his thoughts falling into disarray, his doubts peaking more than ever, and his emotions failing to be held in.

The chairs and table around them began burning away, floating embers blown aside by solar winds. Nothing remained there but Alex, who burned from the inside, and the Divinity, who was fully protecting himself from the sun.

Slowly, the heat vanished, and Alex’s body healed immediately, returning to how it was previously, with only his clothes destroyed.

Alex wore his new robes and stood from the chair, which then fell into ashes. He stared at the man, who failed to understand what had just happened.

He tossed the red-hot rod back to the Divinity and took the 500 stars that appeared before him, given by the formation itself.

"Thank you for your time."

It was only after Alex left that the man slowly turned toward the crystal, only now realizing that he had long since given away his emotions. The crystal burned with the brightest violet it ever had.

How could it not? The man had just felt the power of the sun before him.

There had been many before that claimed to have techniques that had to do with the sun, but they always lacked the exact property of the sun. They brought heat, but not the corrosive destruction.

Alex had somehow managed to do just that. And the power he brought forth was far beyond what should have been possible for him as a mere Immortal. To strip away a Divinity’s Qi should not have been possible for him at all.

’The Sun God,’ he thought again, the words feeling truer than ever.

Had that been the truth? Was this man truly the Sun God?

It wasn’t until more than a minute passed that the man even realized he had been stuck in his own thoughts this entire time. He turned toward the crystal again and saw that it had completely failed to lower from the violet color it was stuck on.

The man slowly removed the headband as he realized that he too had failed. He needed to go.

Before leaving, he eyed Alex’s back one last time before murmuring the words to himself.

"Sun God."

Outside, Alex met up with his family and friends.

"Are you okay?" Helen and Ronron asked the moment he arrived. Both of them had been worried to see his burned self.

"I’m fine," Alex said quickly. "You guys know I can heal."

"Still, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt," Ronron added.

Alex smiled. "I’m used to it."

Liz held a confused look. "What exactly did you do? We didn’t see you use any fire at all. Did you just raise the temperature or what?"

Alex thought for a moment. "Have you guys been to the mountain yet?" he asked. "It’s at the edge of the realm, where Ray stays most of the time. It’s where we found his corpse."

"We have," Helen said. "What about it?"

"Do you know what is inside that place?" Alex asked.

Helen shrugged. "Some sort of fire barrier that hides something dangerous," she answered. "That’s all Ray ever told us."

Alex understood. "It hides a miniature sun, no bigger than a room," he said. "Earlier, I opened my Soul Space right before it... and you saw the result."

Everyone there held a look of astonishment, slowly understanding what Alex had ended up doing.

"And it worked?" Ronron asked. "How strong is that thing?"

"It has the same properties as an actual sun, but with a much smaller size, so it is obviously much weaker. But if you get close enough, it doesn’t really matter. It’s the same."

There was nothing more left to explain there. They all understood what had happened.

"Too many people keep staring," Ronron said. "We should leave."

Alex turned around, watching the people’s gazes, and nodded slowly. "Yeah, it’s about time we left."

Amidst the people’s obsessive looks, Alex and his group flew away from the place, leaving to go find something else to do. After a short talk in the air, they decided that it was time to return to finding more red spots.

They headed down through the map, curving toward the south. The next spot showed up soon enough, with some people gathered around it, but not many.

Alex and his group landed before it, looking around at the place. It was another large tower, this time quite different in structure from the first tower they had been to, but not all that different.

But for some reason, no more than a few dozen people had gathered around the place at all.

There was no banner to inform them of what they had to do, so the only way to find out was to register and enter. So, the group sat around and waited.

Alex looked through the few people who were waiting there as well.

And then, not even half a minute later, their stars buzzed.

"Oh? We can go in already."
