Chapter 3709: Result

Ronron showed off the 82 stars she had received for the questions she had managed to answer perfectly. The only questions she had missed were some that related to older information, which was well known to anyone living in the place, but for someone who had only been taught things, those pieces of information had been skipped over.

Still, nine questions missed out of 100 was a fantastic result.

Helen’s result was the best after Ronron’s, but the gap was so big that it was hard to consider her second best at all. Helen had managed to get a total of 14 stars in the end.

Liz was behind her at 10, so she was two ahead of Alex.

Battlesage had apparently done the worst, with no stars earned at all.

"I answered a lot of the questions," the old man said with a sigh. "But I ended up getting more wrong than right in the end."

"It happens," Alex said with a shrug. "Nothing we can do about it. Just move on."

"You’re right," the old man said as he looked down at the star compass. It glowed all colors, with red being duller than the others, meaning the others were closer. "Are we going to a red spot again, or..."

"If we are trying to gather as many stars as we can, the place to go is the yellow spots," Liz said. "But the chances of earning there are much lower. If we want consistency, we should stick to red."

"Yeah," Ronron said. "Let’s go over to the next red spot. If you all don’t do well there either, we can try out some other ones."

With that decided, everyone headed in the direction of the next red spot, but on the way, they ended up passing by a yellow spot. In a quick decision, they came down from the sky and decided to take part in this since it was on the way.

Several people were gathered around a large sand dune, looking down at the valley at the center, where a few people attacked several puppets that weren’t damaged in the slightest. A bit farther up, a group of people gathered around a registration platform, along with a banner floating next to it that explained this challenge.

Based on your cultivation level, you must deal a certain amount of damage to the puppets within the listed time. The amount of seconds you have left to spare will be the amount of stars you earn.

"Oh?" Helen read the text. "That sounds exciting. No wonder everyone is attacking those puppets so much."

"What are the time requirements?" Ronron asked, looking toward the other banner that had all the things listed.

For someone in the Immortal Origin 2nd realm like her, she had to deal a specific amount of damage within 8 minutes and 24 seconds.

For someone in the Immortal Origin 5th realm like Helen, she had to deal a specific amount of damage within 7 minutes and 36 seconds.

For Liz at the Immortal Origin 4th realm, it was 7 minutes and 58 seconds.

"It doesn’t list the amount, so that’s quite annoying," Helen said. "We will never know when we’re done, will we?"

Alex shrugged. "It doesn’t really matter. You just have to deal as much damage as you can in the amount of time you were given," he said, before a thought came to him. He looked toward the three women.

"Do you want to play a game among the three of you?" Alex asked.

Their eyes brightened slightly.

"What game?" Ronron asked.

"Since you all have about the same level of strength in Qi, let’s see who wins the fastest among the three of you," Alex said. "The only criterion is that none of you are allowed to use your body cultivation to aid yourselves."

"What? But I’m a sword user," Liz complained.

"If you are a sword user, just use Sword Qi and Sword aura, Grandaunt," Ronron said with a light snicker.

"You know I don’t have that," Liz replied.

"Sounds like you’re not a sword user then," she said and walked away before Liz could reply. "Let’s register before more people come. We should get done with it and move on."

Liz was left with a frown, which the others found quite funny. They walked down to the registration, but before they even arrived there, Ronron stopped for a moment, noticing something ahead.

Alex looked ahead as well and noticed Jin Yuelan, the son of the Jin family, who were known for their flames. He was also the man with women swooning around him, who had tried to talk with Ronron before they had entered the Red Heaven Realm.

His cultivation base was in the Immortal Spirit realm, easily making him one of the stronger people inside the Red Heaven Realm at the moment. After registering, he made his way to the side, never turning toward anyone else.

Even here, there were a few women walking beside him.

"Do they think they can gain something by being around him?" Liz asked, looking confused. "What’s the point of doing all of that?"

"Maybe they think they can get on his good side if they get acquainted with him now, so when everyone starts targeting each other after the year ends, he will protect them. If nothing else, he will be a major deterrent for the average cultivator since they wouldn’t even dare go in his direction in fear of being challenged."

"Well... I suppose that makes sense," Liz said.

They got into the line to register and found a place to sit around and watch. There were plenty of people around, so they were going to be here for a while longer than normal. Everyone performed decently, but it appeared that the test wasn’t easy at all.

Even when someone tried their hardest, they ended up taking longer than the required time. It was so obviously built with that sort of result in mind.

And then, they saw Jin Yuelan walk over to one of the puppets as it was his turn.
