Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3747: Third Attacks

Chapter 3747: Third Attacks

The use of a Spirit inside an attack didn’t just increase its power, but also made it directly connected to the person with a much stronger connection than what Alex had fought against until now.

Wangju’s sword burst with a brighter green flame than it had before, and when he was ready, he swung.

Even before the attack left the sword, Alex was already preparing to counter it. The distance made things hard, so he didn’t immediately do it, but he was already in that mindset. So, when the attack was halfway through, he pushed the strength of his Intent into the incoming attack.

Alex used his Intent to fight Wangju’s Intent, but that Intent was constantly rejuvenating, making it difficult for Alex to completely stop it. His mental pain reached a threshold that he hadn’t reached in a long time and crossed it.

Alex nearly saw black for a second before catching hold of himself.

He knew it would be difficult.

He didn’t know it would be this difficult.

The attack came directly at him, and he hadn’t even been able to make it budge an inch. There was no way he could ever change its direction with what he was doing.

In the end, as the attack came right for him, Alex abandoned the thought of using his Intent to stop it and instead punched at the attack.

The biggest explosion yet erupted before Alex, producing heat at a level that was not possible for regular flame. The shockwave from the explosion alone was enough to push Alex back.

Alex hadn’t wanted to, but his feet slid across the sand for a short distance.

When the smoke from the explosion vanished into the air, the people could see Alex now, having moved for the first time since the challenge started.

Alex let out a soft sigh, slowly shaking his head. Using his Intent to fight someone who was using Sword Intent had been difficult. Using it to fight someone using their Spirit had been downright impossible.

’Well, Spirits are an early manifestation of a Creation, which is a person’s soul,’ Alex thought in the end, understanding why it was that he had failed.

Trying to erase such an attack with his Intent was no different from trying to destroy a person’s soul with just his Intent.

And that was certainly not possible. It likely wouldn’t be even if he reached the Divine realm.

Wangju finally grinned, seeing that his attack had done something. He had been slightly worried that his strongest attack would fail as well, but it hadn’t. Although, he didn’t miss the fact that Alex had only moved a short distance away.

Had he missed when he used a defensive technique?

"Your turn. This is the last one," Wangju said.

Alex nodded and prepared his attack. He thought of fighting fire with fire, but even with just his Qi, that would be a bit of overkill. His current Qi cultivation base gave him the strength of an Immortal Spirit 6th realm cultivator, so that was a bit too much to use against someone who was only in the Immortal Spirit 1st realm.

Alex instead resorted to a simpler attack. He lifted his fingers to the side and drops of water formed around him, quickly coalescing as they grew larger and larger until the mass was about as large as Alex himself. It wobbled in the air, casting undulating shadows on the sand.

Then, with a thought, the entire thing froze suddenly, becoming a ball of ice.

The size of the ice grew as the water froze, but then it began shrinking, becoming smaller and smaller while at the same time gaining a sharp blue hue.

It became small enough until it was slightly larger than Alex’s head. Finally, he was satisfied.

Alex turned toward Wangju. "You have a strong fire," he said. "So you should be able to deal with this ice, right? Here you go."

Alex gestured toward the man, and the ball of ice darted toward him at incredible speed. It crossed the distance in the blink of an eye, arriving before Wangju.

Wangju was already prepared when the ball of ice came for him. Green flames had sprung forth before him, forming some sort of physical barrier that the ice ball crashed into. The heat from the flames was so great that a layer of the ice not only melted but also evaporated the moment it crashed onto the flame barrier.

However, it wasn’t so weak a boulder to be done in by just a barrier. Alex had used the Dao of Cold and Dao of Ice as much as he could, to the point where the ice itself had shrunk from the coldness within it, becoming a much denser solid.

While a layer of it was stripped away when landing on the barrier, the rest of it made it through. The ball of ice slammed into Wangju’s body directly, immediately throwing him back like a ragdoll, sending him tossing and turning through the sand until he was wounded and nearly a hundred meters away from the original location.

Alex raised his eyebrows a little. He had expected that attack to do well, but not this well. He had hoped the fire would stop a lot of it, and it hadn’t. Although, if not for his defenses, Wangju would’ve likely died had he let it reach him directly.

So at least, he had done something right.

Alex finally walked over to where the others were standing and waited for the man to come back. Everyone there stared at the two with wide eyes, unable to say a single thing at all.

The man stood up a while later and finally approached Alex. He pulled out his star and tossed it toward Alex.

"You win."

Alex caught the star. "Thanks," he said, and without missing a single beat, he turned toward one of the two that hadn’t been challenged there. He pointed at the man.

"You. I challenge you."
