Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3763: Challenge Issued

Chapter 3763: Challenge Issued

When the challenge was issued, most people didn’t even know what had happened. Alex’s words had been heard all throughout the community, but it took everyone a moment to realize that they had been challenged.

As they slowly realized that, people began looking left and right to make sense of the situation. Almost every single one of them didn’t know that multiple people could be challenged at once, so the situation was fascinating to many.

Ronron ended her battle, winning it. She breathed in and out, waiting for someone else to come for her, only to find no one even looking in her direction.

She had a moment’s reprieve, and she immediately took advantage of it. She sat on the sand and began cultivating right away. As she did that, Ronron looked toward her father, who had moved closer to her. At the same time, she could see the movements beyond him, all of which had slowed down to a crawl at this point.

She was inside a region with manipulated time. She realized just then that she was being given the opportunity to cultivate before others had a chance to interfere.

Liz and Helen ended shortly after and quickly made their way down to the sand to start cultivating as well. They had to make use of this opportunity, after all.

Beyond them, Alex stood in the midst of 2 thousand people, all of whom had just been challenged. Slowly, all 2000 people gathered around him, each one ready to make their challenges.

As per the rules of challenging many people at once, should Alex fail against a single person, it would be considered a failure against everyone else. So, to actually gain anything from the stunt he had just pulled, he would have to win against every single person.

The good news was that Alex could choose which challenge to accept. Should he accept one, that would be the challenge everyone else would take.

Alex looked around, waiting for the people to pitch in what they wanted the test to be. However, to his surprise, no one seemed interested in accepting the challenge at all.

He quickly understood the reason for all the hesitation.

Su Nian walked over from behind the gathered group and stopped once he saw Alex fully.

"You want to challenge us all?" Su Nian asked.

"Yes," Alex said. "Each and every single one of you who heard me."

Su Nian looked at Alex with a hint of a grin on his face. "Very well. 500 stars," he said. "That was what you did yesterday, was it not?"

Alex understood why no one had done anything before. Su Nian had pretty much tamed every person there to become his subordinate and do nothing about it all. Once he spoke up, it was pretty much unanimous that everyone was going to raise the bet to 500 stars. That meant, should Alex win, he would win a million stars.

And should he lose, however, it was over for him.

"Are you sure?" Alex asked. "I will give you a chance to amend it. If you increase our bet, you will be stuck with a random challenge decided by the Divinities, rather than something you choose based on your advantage."

"No thank you," Su Nian said. "We will take our chances."

Alex shrugged. For some reason, he wasn’t scared at all. It was perhaps because he understood just how useless all of this was for him. While the training he was receiving was useful, it was not something he needed a lot of.

Alex shrugged. "Very well."

A few seconds later, a thunderous voice spoke to the group.

"The challenge has been set. You shall battle without the use of any external aid, be it talismans, formations, artifacts, or weapons. You shall rely entirely on yourself."

Alex blinked for a moment as the voice drifted through the group, fading away once it gave the challenge.

"Battle without any artifacts or weapons?"

"We just have to rely on our cultivation base."

"That’s horrible for me."

"That’s horrible for him too. He was confident because of his sword skills. But he can’t use them now. Brother Su Nian will easily defeat him."

Alex could hear each person getting excited that they had lucked out at the moment and that he was going to lose.

Firefang held a strange expression that was a mixture of pity and satisfaction. She had lost over 5000 stars yesterday, so she was happy to see Alex lose everything today.

It was impossible for him to fork out a million stars, after all. That was true for nearly everyone at the moment.

Su Nian walked forward. "Everyone has their days. Yesterday was yours. Today is not. You got ahead of yourself and bit off more than you could chew."

Alex watched the man for a moment before his face split into a smirk. "Do not be so sure. You do not know what I’m capable of."

"It hardly matters," Su Nian said. "But if you do have something, feel free to show us. Provide us with some entertainment before you leave this realm."

"Don’t worry," Alex said. "You will be thoroughly entertained."

Ronron and the rest felt the world come back to life around them, and they each wondered what was happening. The state they were in had stopped them from hearing anything that had been said.

However, just by seeing the state of the people around Alex, it was clear that there was a fight brewing.

Alex was heading into war.

Alex looked at each one of them. "So, how do we do this? Do you want it all to be over at once, or do you wish for it to last a little while?"

Su Nian shook his head. "You talk too much. Men, end this."

As soon as the man said as much, a dozen or so people rushed toward Alex from behind when he wasn’t paying attention.

However, a wave of mental energy spread out from Alex, crashing onto them and knocking them unconscious.

Alex grinned. "That’s 12 down. Uhh... how many more to go?"
