Chapter 3811: An Issue

"Immortal Rank?" Sunflare asked, his face immediately narrowing as he fell into deep thought.

Alex wasn’t sure why they had such a reaction at all. Were they expecting the tree to have reached the Divine rank in just 2 millennia? The fact that it had grown as much as it did was a testament to how well Alex, although mostly Whisker, had taken care of the tree.

Surely they weren’t going to complain despite that, right?

Daywind began speaking of the tree. How big it was. How tall it was. How many branches it had. Everything.

Despite having the tree in his Soul Space for such a long time, Alex could not have told anyone about the tree in as much detail as this man did. He was indeed a true devotee of the Nine Yang Divine Tree, as he missed not a single thing.

Once he finished, the room went silent for a little while.

Alex could tell they were concerned about something, but as for what it was, he had not the faintest clue.

"This is a bit of a problem then," Sunflare said. "It is way too risky."

"What is?" Bladedance asked.

"Transport of the tree," the Celestial said. "At the Immortal rank, the tree isn’t strong enough to survive inside of our storage rings."

Bladedance’s eyes narrowed. "How did you bring it over last time? Just do that."

"We brought the tree along by placing it in our storage ring and using many Divine spirit veins to keep it alive before it could be planted here," Sunflare said. "However, at the Divine realm, the tree was much more robust and could survive life in the emptiness of the storage ring through the spirit veins. But this time, we are not sure it is strong enough."

Alex was taken aback. "Why is that an issue?" he asked. "I mean, I understand why that is an issue, but you don’t have to do all of that when I can perfectly take it along with me."

Sunflare’s eyes widened slightly. "You are willing to come with us?" he asked.

The Sky God turned as well. "You don’t have to do this. It is their burden how they want to take the tree back. You can pass it along to them right now," she said.

Alex looked at her. "But that hurts the tree, doesn’t it? After all this time, I would be mad if the tree were to die because of my negligence. And it isn’t even strong enough to produce another seed. I would like to see to the tree’s safe transfer, if at all possible."

He looked toward Sunflare, almost as if he were asking for permission.

Sunflare didn’t even waste a second considering the offer. He nodded right away. "Yes, we would like it if you were to come with us," he said. "The safety of the tree is our biggest priority, and this takes care of that."

The Sky God shrugged. "If that is what you’ve all come to decide, then so be it. Young Dawnblade here will help transfer the tree."

"Great!" Sunflare said. "We will be leaving right away. Prepare for departure within the month."

"Right away?" Alex asked, a little taken aback. "I have prior engagements. I cannot just leave, senior."

"None of your engagements matter to the survival of our god," Sunflare said. "We will pay you a hefty sum of Spirit stones and other treasures for your aid. You will not miss out on much."

"Actually," the Sky God spoke up just then. "You will not be leaving right away. You will have to wait another 2 centuries before you can go."

"What?"

"Two centuries?"

Both of the Divinities cried out at once.

"Newheaven, what are you trying to do here?" Sunflare asked. "Why would we stay around for 2 centuries when we’ve already found our god again?"

"Because he needs to stay around for 2 centuries," the Sky God said. "You are free to take your tree, but you cannot take this young man for another 2 centuries."

"Why?" the man demanded.

The Sky God tilted her head a little. "Have you yet been made aware of the upcoming peace meeting with the Demons?"

"Somewhat, though I do not understand it fully," Sunflare said.

"The demons have requested that we gather a group of gods and go meet them for peace negotiations. He will be coming with us during that," the Sky God said.

"Why? He’s just an Immortal," Sunflare said.

"No doubt about it, but he is also a god," the Sky God said. "And all gods are to go for this meeting."

Sunflare could barely hold back his voice. "He is no god. You are simply lying to keep him here."

"He is the Sun God," the Sky God said.

"You can keep saying that, but there is only one true Sun God, and he holds it inside of him," Sunflare said, pointing toward Alex.

The Sky God shrugged. "You can deny it as much as you want, but you cannot change the fact that he is the Sun God. If that is who you in the Nine Yang Court truly worship, then you need to be worshiping him."

Sunflare was about to speak, but the Sky God cut him off.

"Even if you do not want to believe it, that is fine. But the Demons have found their Moon Goddess, and if this peace negotiation is going to go in any way that is acceptable, we will need the Sun God on our side."

Sunflare swallowed back his words and silently stared at the Sky God. His eyes moved toward Alex for a moment before returning to Newheaven.

"Very well," he said finally. "You have lost our trust before, so whatever you have gained by bringing us back our god, I hope you do not lose it again. I will trust that you are speaking the truth."

"I am," the Sky God said.

"In that case, I accept. We will return in 2 centuries," Sunflare said. "But in exchange, I will be visiting this peace meeting as well."

He turned toward Alex.

"From now on, wherever you go, I go."
