Chapter 3825: Forming the Artifact

The Artifact God remained silent for quite a few seconds. She considered Alex’s words thoroughly before slowly nodding afterward. "You’re right. That would mean war if that information were to leak in any way. I’ve done all I can until now to stop that from happening, and I do not want my hard work to fail because of this simple mistake."

Alex sighed in relief. "Thank you, senior."

"May I see the tree again?" she asked.

"The formation is active, so it won’t be possible," Alex told her.

"But it’s right there. I just want to take a closer look," the Artifact God said.

"It is impossible to find your way in this fog. It is built with a spatial array within it that won’t let outsiders navigate the place so easily. You will be lost long before you reach the tree," Alex said.

"You should have some sort of key to stop that. Some medallion or a talisman," she said.

"I do, and I will give it to you later, senior. For now, we should focus on the artifact, shouldn’t we? We don’t have a lot of time," Alex told her.

The woman fell silent for a second, seemingly a little disappointed, before nodding. "Yes, we should do just that. Finishing the artifact is important."

Alex left her afterward to complete it all on her own. Outside, he sat upon the inactive formation, lightly sighing to himself. He couldn’t use this anymore, which meant he would either have to cultivate all by himself or he would have to leave.

Leaving wasn’t an option since Sunflare would surely question where the Artifact God had disappeared to. So, cultivating was his only option.

He didn’t go into a deeper cultivation session, mostly waiting for the Artifact God to be done. He wasn’t sure when she would be, so all he could do was hope that it would be soon. She should have done the majority of the work within the many thousands of days that had already passed inside his Soul Space. Now, 50 days passed for each day he spent outside.

As Alex waited, it took nearly half a month before the Artifact God was done. The moment she was certain she had the right design for the artifact and everything related to it in her mind, she let Alex know.

"I’m finally done. I will make the artifact right here since it’s much faster," she said.

"No, no," Alex said quickly. "I will die, senior. You will need to come out."

The Artifact God sighed for a moment and nodded. She finally came out of his Soul Space and stood outside in the workshop. Her eyes narrowed a little as she looked around the place.

"Hmm, something is different here than it was back in your Soul Space," she said, musing to herself. "There’s a slight variation in the aura, I think."

Alex let her think what she wanted. There was not a chance he was going to explain to her about the aura of the Primordial beasts that emanated throughout his Soul Space.

"Alright, let’s make the artifact, shall we?"

Shen Yaojia brought out a few different materials and had Alex look through each one. He was tested once again to check his understanding of the properties of each of the materials before she explained what it was that she planned to do with them all.

"Just like my Water artifact I showed you before, I’m going to implant Qi lines similar to what a person without the spirit roots would require. It will be for all three of the auras we need: Metal, Fire, and Water," she explained.

Alex raised his eyebrows slightly. "Oh! You’re going to replicate the technique being used through the artifact entirely? I thought you were only going to replicate the final aura."

"That is what I was trying to do. If I had a lot more time, I could perhaps spend a few centuries considering the best way to create just that aura. But since I don’t have that time, I have to use this method."

Alex nodded. "How difficult is it?" he asked. "I mean, you mentioned the Water artifact requiring an entire Divine spirit vein."

"I’m going to use other artifacts I already have to convert Qi into specific elemental Qi. Doing it directly through the artifact would take a long time," she explained.

Alex nodded. That would indeed take a long time.

"Alright, I’ll get started then," the Artifact God said as she brought out her crystal hammer. "Do you want to help me? Make an alloy out of these two metals. 2 parts of the bronze and 3 parts of the steel. After that, refine it completely. Meanwhile, I’ll work on the Water crystal and Fire obsidian."

Alex nodded and accepted the task. He brought Memory out and placed the metals in with the perfect ratio before using Sun Fire to melt them with not as much difficulty as he was expecting. It did take a decent amount of time because of the strength of the metals, both being in the Divine rank, but that was all that he needed. Time.

They melted completely in the end and formed a perfect alloy. Alex brought it out while hot and began beating it upon the anvil, refining it at a steady pace. The rhythmic strikes formed a chorus of metallic tings that echoed throughout the giant workspace.

From time to time, the Artifact God turned to look at Alex, mostly to make sure he wasn’t making any mistakes. Each time, she nodded to herself, impressed by his work.

She also completed working on both her materials, her Creation making it incredibly easy to refine them both. Once everything was prepared, she took it all and worked on it by herself.

Alex watched from farther away this time, making sure not to disturb her. As she worked, she slowly changed the shapes of the materials, making it so that they could fit together.

As she did, Alex could see what it was that she was making.

It was a decently large bracer.
