Chapter 3946: A Primordial’s Fire

Chapter 3946: A Primordial’s Fire

The speed at which the flame in Alex’s hand changed was downright frightening. Understanding of fire alone shouldn’t have been possible to make such a thing happen. There needed to be talent too, so Blazelight could only guess just how talented Alex really was.

She understood inherently that Alex would only be fast at learning the flames toward the start. As he learned more and more, it would be difficult to make improvements, and thus he would take much more than the span of a few seconds to fully learn the fire.

However, even if that duration were to stretch to be a decade, that would still make him far more talented than anyone else she had seen.

Everyone in the Fire God’s cult was there because they had a talent with flames. And among them, only three could have been said to have truly learned this flame. She was one of them, and it had taken her thousands and thousands of years.

And she had considered herself talented, but this... this was far beyond anything she had seen in her lifetime.

"Blazelight!" Ashmaker’s voice came from behind, bringing her out of her stupor. She looked before her and realized what she had been unwittingly doing.

She quickly took away the flames, allowing Alex to no longer learn from it at all.

Alex didn’t appear surprised when that happened. He looked at the flame in his palm and how easy it had been to learn this. Compared to Sunfire, this was a breeze.

’It’s just simple Fire aura with a bit of time aura and life aura within it,’ he thought. He understood Fire well enough already, and he was beginning to understand the time aura and life aura within it as well. Combined with a built-in connection he felt through the Vermilion Bird bloodline he had within him, it had been quite easy to learn the fire.

Of course, there had to be another reason that was true as well.

"That’s not the true fire of the Nine-Headed Phoenix, is it?" he asked. "I mean, I can imagine how you learned it. It’s a copy of a copy. And at this point, it’s so much less complex than the real thing since you don’t understand the Daos involved within it enough to make it a true thing."

His voice was loud enough for everyone to hear. Even those who knew this was a Primordial’s flame appeared surprised to hear that it wasn’t close to being the real thing at all.

"What do you know?" Blazelight asked. "How could you possibly tell what is and isn’t the flame of a Primordial?"

Alex smiled.

"Since you ask, allow me to show you what a Primordial’s flames really look like."

The flame burning in his palm suddenly changed. It no longer had the subtle heat of something emulating the Nine-Headed Phoenix’s flames. Instead, it was the destructive heat akin to that of the sun.

The yellow flames of Sunfire burst out of Alex’s palm, the heat and light forcing the Fire Sage to quickly back away out of fear.

Alex raised the flames high above him, letting the bright yellow flames cast sharp shadows all around him.

"This is what the real fire of a Primordial looks like," he said, looking straight at Ashmaker, who couldn’t hide his shock in the slightest. "This is the fire of the Three-Legged Crow: a fire worthy of the Sun God. I present to you all, Sunfire."

A wide array of gasps left the lips of all those who witnessed the Sunfire. The flame itself was already enough to tell everyone that it was a powerful one, much more than what Blazelight had produced, but hearing its name made it much more than what they had initially realized.

Anyone who knew anything about flames knew that the greatest Yang flame out there was the Sunfire. Produced by the Suncrow itself, there was nothing in the world that could burn hotter than it or be more destructive.

While the two hadn’t started their match with the intention to compare the types of flames they had, they had unintentionally ended up doing just that, and the showcase had been enough for everyone to understand that Alex had indeed the better flame of the two.

Much better.

People turned toward the Fire God, since the one Alex was truly fighting was him. He had already lost the first time due to Heatwave, and now he was going to lose again due to Blazelight. If he didn’t step in quickly and do something, this would reflect quite badly upon him.

Ashmaker understood very well that no one among the audience would be stupid enough to think that Alex defeating his two subordinates would mean that he was better than him. However, logic hardly factored in when it came to being a Half-God.

Even though logic might state one thing, if people’s subconscious started questioning that logic, that was all over for him.

As such, he would have to handle things next himself before more issues popped up.

He was about to move when Blazelight took a step forward and spoke with her chest held out.

"Having a powerful flame alone doesn’t make you powerful," the woman shouted. "One must know how to use it as well."

She created her own flame again, quickly enlarging it until it was bigger than even Alex’s. It gave off pale red light, which was sadly overpowered by the yellow light that came off Alex’s Sunfire.

She looked at the ground below her and how her flame hardly stood up against the Sunfire, which made her grow even more angry.

She had already been humiliated by Alex before during the Weapons tournament. And today, it was happening all over again.

This couldn’t be.

"You want to compare our flames?" she shouted. "Then let us compare them properly."

The flame compressed in her palm, glowing with a bright pink tint. "Let’s see which one of us has the stronger flames."

Before Alex could even prepare, she shot the flame out, throwing it directly toward Alex.
