Chapter 2825: Kidd Khan: The Emissary Of Light

Date: Unspecified

Time: Unspecified

Location: Myriad Realms, Card World, Southern Region, Blossom District, Three Mischief Encampment, Limitless Celestial Blood Fate Rule Domain

I stared the devil in the eyes. My answer couldn’t have been more obvious or louder. The devil, however, seemed confident that he would get what he wanted. If the situation were different, I couldn’t entirely disagree—perhaps even in the Dark Realm, only a handful could refuse him—but today, he was bound to be disappointed.

However, just as I was about to use my last-resort skill—the only skill in my arsenal that depended entirely on another’s generosity—Corey stepped off Lil’ Baem’s back and asked aloud, "Wyatt, do you trust me?"

At the same moment, a brilliant light burst from both Lil’ Baem and Corey as they fused into their humanoid fusion form. Corey’s body was now clad in white scale armor, while a golden shawl draped over her shoulders and around arms. Her pupils were slit, resembling a snake’s eyes, and she bore a pair of sharp fangs and a white, scaled tail.

The scales on her armor tilted upward slightly, releasing a cloud of gray mist that began to push against the domain itself. Slowly, it forced back the golden hue, replacing it with a dull gray as it corroded a portion of the domain and claimed it as her own.

"Wyatt, Lil’ Baem and I created this move to counter your double Celestial Rule Domain. What do you think? Since his domain obliterated yours and mine punched a hole through his, does that mean my new move is stronger than your Celestial Rule Domain? I win, right?"

Corey gloated, while the devil looked at her in amazement. Catching his gaze, she met it with a wider grin.

"So, you want me to join your family, right? Why wouldn’t you? I don’t blame you—I blame my talent."

"So, it was you." "

"Fascinating~"

"Vapour Venom capable of corroding faith. It seems to have a will of its own—able to distinguish its targets from its allies. I would certainly like to study it. After all, there aren’t many things in the Myriad Realms that can be used against faith."

The devil was surprised to learn that Corey was responsible for the gray mist. He had assumed it would be the boy or one of the card demigods, but no—it was her. More precisely, her pet snake.

However, he was indeed impressed by Corey’s display of power, though not in the way she assumed. What truly caught his interest was Lil’ Baem’s venom—released in vapor form, manifesting as the gray mist before them. In his mind, he was already placing her on a study table as a specimen, not welcoming her into his family as Corey believed to be.

Why would he? She was not only a demon merchant and she possessed a skill capable of undermining faith itself. To him, she wasn’t a potential recruit, but a threat that needed to be nipped in the bud. If he didn’t want to study her vapour venom, he would have killed her already. What astonished him most was that Corey didn’t seem to understand this. He wasn’t alone, the Field Marshal, her young lord, and Karl also wondered the same thing.

"What?"

When she finally grasped what the devil meant, she stared at him in disbelief. She couldn’t understand why he wouldn’t invite her to join his family and instead chose to put a target on her head—especially after she had proven herself stronger than her boss.

’It’s true,’ she thought bitterly. ’True talent is persecuted and rarely celebrated.’

"No matter how much you struggle in this domain, it’s all moot. Just sit back and wait, i will come to you after you are done here."

The devil spent a considerable amount of faith not only reclaiming the portion of the domain Corey had corrupted with Lil’ Baem’s vapor venom, but also restoring it. The patch of gray was once again washed over by a golden hue. For the devil, this expenditure of faith was little more than a drop in a vast bucket. For the Emissary of Light, however, it was anything but trivial.

Having seen the kind of enemies the Emissary of Light had been facing, the devil no longer blamed him for his current state and stepped in to purge the lingering gray mist surrounding the Emissary.

As soon as the gray mist restraining him dissipated, the Emissary’s spirit surged with spare faith. He used it to fight off the vampiric hold of the sword lodged in his skull and forced it free. As his brain regenerated and life returned to him, he took in his surroundings. The moment his gaze fell upon the devil, he immediately bowed.

"Thank you, Your Highness Konjur."

"This one’s on the house. The family takes care of its own—especially those who contribute. Kidd Khan, you’ve served the Faith Order for decades without complaint. It’s the family’s turn to help you."

"But you’re not out of hot water yet, Kidd. Go find out what the problem is and reinstate the flow of faith. The family gets its share on time, regardless of the situation on your end. You have three hours. Get going."

Without waiting for a response, the devil delivered his ultimatum, expecting Kidd to move at once. Yet Kidd remained where he stood, a frustrated look tightening his face. It was clear he wanted to say something, but didn’t know how—held back by the fear of what might follow.

"What is it? Out with it already!"

"Your Highness Konjur... that’s no longer possible. They’ve erased my entire existence from this world. My memories, everything I’ve done—anything even remotely connected to me has been altered. They’ve made it as if I never existed at all."

"What?"

The devil exclaimed as he listened to Kidd. His gaze shifted to the four standing before him, horror creeping into his eyes as he tried to grasp how such a thing was even possible. How could someone erase a person’s presence in the world completely in such a small amount of time? Was one of them capable of reality warping?
