Chapter 3178: Playing With Food

Date: Unspecified

Time: Unspecified

Location: Myriad Realms, Realm Of True Evil, Shell Island

The first problem of leaving this realm was my current form. If I were to use the Demon Merchant Code to leave this realm, both the Demon Merchant Code and the Mulias Royal Family, who I would run into at the toll gate of the realm, would... Honestly, I didn’t know how they would react. Especially now that I knew someone was raising a World Calamity Tree in here.

Obviously, my first and foremost suspects were the Mulias Royal Family, but there could be more than what meets the eye.

Anyway, back to the matter at hand, I couldn’t leave the realm using the Demon Merchant Code in my current form. And since I was planning on taking the shell away, I didn’t have proper footing to draw the teleportation array Dalia taught me. That left me with one option: I needed to figure out a way to temporarily return to my original form, if not permanently.

A simple trick to serve my purpose.

And then there were the hatchlings. What do I do about them? Out of consideration for Scar, I definitely can’t leave them behind now that I know they will become food or Calamity Daughter Seeds.

Not that Scar specifically asked me to help them. As my family, she didn’t need to. As my Bloodkin, she was my family, and I planned to treat her like that.

But I also couldn’t take them out of this realm knowing that they were capable of it. I don’t think any amount of discipline can beat their nature out of these Truevil hatchlings. And the only way I saw to suppress their innate nature was by turning them into my Calamity Daughter Gem or Bloodkin, like I did with Scar. Especially, turning them into Bloodkin now would be easier with Scar’s help.

Well, there were a couple dozen of them. Enough to make a small squad. I was here to make a squad of Truevil corpse puppets, after all. But ultimately, I left the decision to Scar.

Lastly, how was I supposed to take Scar out with me when I figured out a way to change my form back and leave this realm using the Demon Merchant Code?

How was I supposed to explain her Primordial Awakened Form and subservient attitude toward me to the Mulias Royal Family at the toll point?

After all, I did promise them a percentage of loot to enter their realm.

Usually, a devil contract would be enough to ensure fairness in this kind of deal. But the Mulias Royal Family understood that its customer base was not only strong but incredibly crafty with their own arsenal of unique means. Otherwise, they wouldn’t dare to step into the Realm of True Evil. They didn’t trust a Devil Contract would be enough to ensure they honestly coughed out their entire loot, so they could fairly calculate the toll.

Therefore, instead of offering a Devil Contract to their customers through the Demon Merchant Code, they had created a small check post on one of the several moons of the Realm of True Evil, where the Demon Merchant Code would first teleport all the devil merchants returning from the Realm of True Evil.

There, the Mulias Royal Family would decide if their customer was being honest or tricking them. To ensure fairness and certainty for their customers, they entered a devil contract with the Demon Merchant Code, assuring that the Demon Merchant Code would be responsible for the customers who were honest and didn’t try anything funny.

Yep, if entering the Realm of True Evil was one headache, leaving the Realm of True Evil was a bigger one.

Unless I addressed all three of these problems, I couldn’t even leave the Realm of True Evil with peace of mind.

However, I had thought of a way that would address all three of these issues, allowing me to leave the Realm of True Evil through the Demon Merchant Code. But I was hesitant about it because it might lead to bigger trouble in the future.

Yes, it wasn’t a clean getaway. That was why I decided to keep it as my last resort.

Just then, I observed on the screen showing the perspective of Scar and Cloud Prowler that the sky was falling, i.e. the oddly shaped luminous pearls that formed the sky of the Shell Island were falling apart. And the screen showing the perspective of Maworm answered why.

Maworm had stealthily made her way within the layers of the shell and located the giant parasite hiding between the vast network of roots and launched her attack, devouring everything in her way. The roots, the layers of shell that formed soil for the roots, lumps of fossilized tissues, etc. The shell was very thick, like the crust of a very small realm itself. So, her destruction didn’t even affect the integrity of the shell. Compared to the scale of the shell, her enormous size looked no less than an earthworm in a acre.

She could have arrived right next to the parasite and launched her attack, but nope, she was too eager and instead warned the enemy even before she could reach it. Her IQ and impulse control were just what you’d expect from a pet.

However, from the looks of it, she seemed to be enjoying the hunt. I guess that’s her nature, playing with her food.

And when she finally made it past all the roots that the parasite was aiming at her and caught up with the parasite, it suddenly expanded into a form that very much looked like a millennium centipede, a giant centipede monster with millions of legs on each side.

As they wrestled and struggled, Maworm tried to drag it out of the shell, out into the open, where her opponent would be at a disadvantage. Leading to the ceiling of Shell Island falling apart, only the crusty luminous pearl part, not the rest of it. It seems when it came to hunting, even she was sharp.
