Chapter 2672: Blurt Out Her Past Life When Drunk
"Hmm... It feels incredibly nice. Everything is just so... fuzzy." Yu Qi murmured happily, her usual poise and dignity having completely vanished without a trace.
Before either of the men could move to stop her, she snatched up her glass and gulped down the remaining wine in one reckless, determined go. Not finished yet, she reached out with a noticeably wobbling hand toward the bottle, clearly intending to pour herself another serving. Grandpa Mu, however, acted with surprising speed, snatching the bottle away before Yu Qi’s grasping fingers could even brush against the glass.
"That’s quite enough, Yu Qi. You are clearly and undeniably drunk." Grandpa Mu stated firmly, doing his level best to maintain some sense of order at the table.
Yu Qi shifted her hazy gaze and stared at Grandpa Mu for a long, quiet moment, her eyes narrowing into slits as she tried desperately to process the features of his face.
"Who exactly are you? You... you are definitely not my master." Yu Qi suddenly spoke up, her voice now tinged heavily with a sharp sense of suspicion.
"Of course, I am not your master. I am your grandfather!" Grandpa Mu stated, sounding at least slightly offended by the mistaken identity.
"Yu Qi... I am your master." Grandpa Tang chimed in mischievously, his eyes twinkling as he clearly wanted to see how she would react to the claim.
Yu Qi turned her head slowly toward Grandpa Tang and stared intensely at him as well. After a while, she shook her head with a slow, deliberate motion and finally spoke again.
"You are also not my master. Master is a very good-looking man with a long, flowing white beard. You do not have a white beard." Yu Qi stated with absolute, cold seriousness. Then, she let out a disdainful snort that bordered on a scoff. "You want to claim to be my master? Not a chance in the world!"
Grandpa Tang and Grandpa Mu were left completely stunned and speechless by Yu Qi’s blunt speech.
"If I am not your master, then who is this master of yours? What is his name?" Grandpa Tang asked, his curiosity getting the better of him.
"Tang Moting." Yu Qi said, the name coming out clearly and without a single moment of hesitation.
Grandpa Tang and Grandpa Mu looked at each other, their expressions filled with confusion.
"Do you know someone with that name who might be by her side?" Grandpa Mu asked Grandpa Tang in a low voice.
"No... I don’t think so. I have never heard that name before." Grandpa Tang said as he shook his head slowly.
"She seems entirely confident when stating his name. That is not a random name at all." Grandpa Mu thought deeply about the implications of her words.
Yu Qi then suddenly stood up from her seat.
"Master always tells me not to skip the training. Otherwise, I will surely forget the forms." Yu Qi said out of nowhere.
"What kind of training are we talking about?" Grandpa Tang asked immediately, leaning in.
"Sword training." Yu Qi answered simply.
She looked around the immediate area and soon found a sturdy stick lying nearby. She picked it up, testing the weight. Then, she began performing a complex sword technique. Every single movement was sharp, swift, and remarkably precise. It was as if she had truly trained with a blade for many long years.
Grandpa Tang and Grandpa Mu were genuinely surprised to see how skillfully Yu Qi was performing the intricate sword technique.
"Did she learn something like this at some point in her past?" Grandpa Mu asked, his eyes wide.
"I only met her when she was sixteen years old. I don’t know much about the details of her life before that time." Grandpa Tang said, shaking his head in wonder.
"It is not something people could just do casually or pick up overnight. It would require a great deal of hard work, discipline, and significant time." Grandpa Mu observed.
"Yu Qi..." Grandpa Tang tried calling out to her to make her stop before she hurt herself.
Yu Qi indeed stopped mid-motion and looked over at Grandpa Tang.
"Why do you keep calling me Yu Qi?" Yu Qi asked, appearing genuinely puzzled.
"Because that is your name, isn’t it?" Grandpa Tang responded naturally.
"That is not my name at all. My name is Qin Yue." Yu Qi declared firmly.
"Qin Yue?"
Grandpa Tang and Grandpa Mu looked at each other once again, more baffled than before.
"Yes. I feel quite tired now, and I want to get some rest." Yu Qi said, her energy fading as quickly as it had arrived.
She sat back down, leaned heavily against the chair, and closed her eyes. The two old men were stunned into silence for a moment before they both burst into fitful laughter.
"This girl is truly so funny when she becomes drunk." Grandpa Tang commented with great amusement.
"Yeah... No wonder that brat, Long Hui, did not allow her to drink any alcohol." Grandpa Mu stated, finally understanding the situation.
"I honestly thought he just wanted to control her lifestyle. I never would have thought it was actually for Yu Qi’s own sake." Grandpa Tang admitted.
"Well... At least we do not have to worry about her becoming an alcoholic anytime soon." Grandpa Mu said while reaching for the bottle to pour himself another glass of the potent wine.
Grandpa Tang signalled to the nearby maids to carry Yu Qi back to her room. Since she wanted to sleep, they might as well let her sleep properly in her own bed. The maids approached Yu Qi and were about to help her stand when she suddenly snapped her eyes open.
