Chapter 2713: Chapter 2713: Sparring With One Of The Disciples
"...Fine. You can sit over there at the table and watch quietly then." Yu Qi finally surrendered helplessly, a blush warming her cheeks.
"Yes, my beloved." Long Hui immediately nodded obediently, a triumphant smirk flashing across his handsome features.
Therefore, Long Hui quietly sat at the dining table, resting his chin on his hand while silently watching his beloved Qi Qi move gracefully around the kitchen.
Approximately two hours later, Yu Qi finally finished preparing all the elaborate dishes. She immediately served a generous portion of food to all her little cuties first, before calling out for Rukh, who had been nowhere to be seen earlier in the day.
That normally aloof, majestic beast also loved Yu Qi’s cooking very much. Therefore, the moment he heard her voice calling his name, his massive form materialised out of the shadows without a single second of hesitation.
Xiaohua and Xiaoli also hurried over to the dining area, their eyes sparkling after smelling the delicious, mouth-watering aroma wafting through the air. Yu Qi smiled warmly, her heart full as she watched all of them happily eating and chattering together. Afterwards, she sat down and personally served a plate of food for Long Hui as well, enjoying the quiet intimacy of their shared meal.
....
The next morning, Yu Qi and Long Hui returned from the Sere back to their designated guest room inside the Heavenly Crane Pavilion. Not long afterwards, a polite knock echoed against the wooden door frame. Yu Qi immediately walked over and opened it to reveal their guide.
"Good morning, Ms Tang. Good morning, Mr Long." Chang Shunchun greeted politely, bowing her head slightly.
"Good morning." Yu Qi replied with a bright smile.
Long Hui simply acknowledged her presence with a calm, silent nod of his head.
Chang Shunchun did not mind Long Hui’s notoriously cold attitude in the slightest. After all, she had already heard many rumours and stories regarding the terrifying colonel’s distant personality beforehand. Honestly speaking, the fact that he actually acknowledged an outsider like her with a nod was already considered more than enough. Usually, he would simply ignore any women who tried approaching his personal space entirely.
"Did both of you rest well last night?" Chang Shunchun asked politely as she stepped back. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"It was fine, thank you." Yu Qi nodded.
"I see. Well, Master asked me to come and bring both of you over to the pavilion cafeteria for breakfast." Chang Shunchun explained, gesturing down the hallway.
"Thank you. Lead the way." Yu Qi smiled politely.
The three of them then headed together toward the bustling pavilion cafeteria. Along the winding outdoor paths, Yu Qi noticed dozens of dedicated disciples currently practising intricate martial arts forms within several massive, open training grounds nearby, their movements synchronised and powerful.
"Does the Heavenly Crane Pavilion also train heavily in standard martial arts alongside spiritual cultivation?" Yu Qi curiously asked Chang Shunchun, watching a young disciple execute a perfect kick.
"Yeah." Chang Shunchun nodded immediately. "Cultivating the soul requires a strong physical vessel, so physical training is mandatory for everyone here."
Not long afterwards, they finally arrived at the large, airy cafeteria, where hundreds of disciples were already sitting together and enjoying their morning meals. Yu Qi and Long Hui collected their traditional breakfast portions before sitting down together with Chang Shunchun at one of the quieter tables near the window.
"Master said that I will be entirely responsible for taking care of both of you today. The soul-summoning ritual itself would not begin until late tonight." Chang Shunchun explained between bites of her food.
"Can I check on the girl’s condition first before the sun goes down?" Yu Qi asked, wanting to assess the damage to the soul beforehand.
"No, I am afraid not. Ms Ji is currently staying deep inside a highly volatile protective array. It is not convenient or safe for the Master to open it casually right now. Right now, the spiritual pressure is so intense that even her own biological mother is not allowed to enter the chamber." Chang Shunchun explained apologetically.
"I see..." Yu Qi nodded thoughtfully, understanding the delicate nature of soul stabilisation.
"Well, since there is still plenty of time before tonight’s event, I can show both of you around the rest of the pavilion grounds if you want." Chang Shunchun offered enthusiastically, eager to show off her home.
"Thank you. We would love that." Yu Qi nodded with a gentle smile.
Just as Chang Shunchun suggested, the three of them spent the entire morning walking around the scenic mountain property together. The entire Heavenly Crane Pavilion was practically like a self-sufficient, hidden small village tucked away safely within the craggy peaks of the mountains. It contained almost everything necessary for daily human life and survival.
Long Hui turned to Yu Qi and mentioned that he wanted to check out the primary training ground where the pavilion disciples usually practised their martial arts forms. Chang Shunchun naturally agreed to the request without a second thought, happily offering to personally guide the two of them over to the active training area.
The moment they stepped onto the wide, open courtyard, several disciples immediately noticed the newcomers. One of the young men, who seemed exceptionally skilled and clearly held immense confidence in his own combat abilities, stepped forward. Having recognised the razor-sharp, imposing aura radiating from Long Hui, his competitive instincts flared, prompting him to politely invite the striking visitor to a friendly sparring match.
Long Hui did not refuse the sudden challenge at all, calmly agreeing to have a brief match with the enthusiastic disciple.
Before the exchange officially began, the young martial artist still appeared supremely confident in his capabilities, shifting into a fluid stance with a focused gaze.
