The Number One Star in the Interstellar Era

Chapter 846: MAKE IT OUR HOME

THEY had spent the morning in Astrid’s living room just laying around talking about normal things. Wulfric talked about a new training program he was trying with his soldiers, and Astrid told him stories of his classes and current projects. The talk flowed easily from one subject to another.

"Can you tell me more about Alluna?" Astrid asked out of curiosity.

He had tried looking up Alluna online before, but there were barely any photos of the planet. The search results only provided basic facts and general information that did not convey a true sense of the place. He had wondered if it was because people who visited were too intimidated to post anything, given Wulfric’s reputation, or if the army actively prevented anything detailed from being shared online.

Wulfric’s face lit up at the question. He sat up a little straighter, a grin spreading across his features. "Alluna is beautiful," he said, already turning on his Terminal. "Here, let me show you."

He tapped the virtual screen, and photos started appearing. "The oceans are this clear blue color, you can see straight through to the bottom in some places." He swiped to the next image, showing a stretch of dense green forest. "And the rainforests are completely natural. Most of the flora and fauna on the planet have been left untouched. It gives the place a wild charm that you don’t really find anywhere else."

He swiped again, this time showing a sleek, modern city skyline. "But don’t think it’s all just trees and water. The cities and towns have all the latest technology. We just built everything around nature instead of replacing it. The buildings are tall and clean, the streets are wide, and everything runs smoothly. It’s got that balance between modern and natural that most planets don’t really bother to keep."

He kept scrolling, showing more photos. "There are these giant cliffs along the coast. People go there to watch the sunsets. And the wildlife is everywhere. You’ll see birds you’ve never heard of just flying around like they own the place." He paused on a picture of a waterfall surrounded by greenery. "This spot is one of the locals’ favorites. The water falls into a pool so clear you can count the rocks at the bottom."

Astrid leaned closer, his gaze lingering on the photos of crystal-blue water and sprawling green forests. The scenery stirred a sense of familiarity, reminding him of Earth—not the modern world he grew up on in his past life, but as it might have looked before cities rose and technology reshaped the land.

Wulfric then looked up at Astrid, his eyes shining with pride. "It’s my planet, my home. I hope someday we can make it our home."

Astrid raised an eyebrow, amused despite the flutter in his stomach. "That sounds a lot like a proposal, Your Highness. I haven’t even set foot on the planet yet."

Wulfric didn’t even look embarrassed. He just grinned at Astrid, completely shameless. "Are you going to accept my proposal, then?"

Astrid laughed and threw a pillow at him. Wulfric could have easily dodged it with his reflexes, but he didn’t. He let the pillow hit him square in the face.

"My dear wolf," Astrid said in a voice light with teasing, "I still want to be romanced properly. If you’re going to propose, at least make it romantic."

That made Wulfric pause. Aster was right. He deserved to be romanced properly. When the time came for him to propose, he would make sure it was the most romantic proposal anyone had ever seen. Something that would be talked about across the four galaxies. A proposal for the ages.

Astrid watched Wulfric’s expression shift from surprise to something downright dreamy. He held back a laugh. He had no doubt Wulfric was already imagining grand proposal scenarios in his head. Taking advantage of the moment, he got up from the couch.

"I should probably start making lunch," he said.

The words seemed to snap Wulfric out of his daze. He stood up quickly. "Let me help you." When Aster only raised an eyebrow at him, he added, "I can chop vegetables and meat, at least."

Ellis walked into Astrid’s apartment building. Her biometrics were already registered in the building’s security system, so she didn’t have to check in or wait for someone to let her in. She crossed the lobby and stepped into the elevator, pressing the button for Astrid’s floor.

It was almost lunchtime, so Astrid was probably in the middle of cooking. They still had time before they needed to head to Polaris for his hair and makeup for the [Blind Justice ] movie premiere later in the afternoon.

She wasn’t worried about the premiere. She knew Astrid would walk that red carpet and capture everyone’s attention. And from what she had seen of the finished movie, his performance was excellent. So really, there was nothing to stress about.

That was why she couldn’t explain the nagging worry at the back of her head. She had learned long ago not to ignore her instincts. So she kept running through her mental checklist, trying to figure out if she had forgotten something. But nothing came to mind. Everything seemed to be in order.

The elevator doors slid open, and Ellis stepped out onto Astrid’s floor. She walked straight to his apartment door and pressed the doorbell.

It took a moment before the door finally opened. When it did, she found Astrid standing there in a blue apron, looking surprised to see her. That confused her for a second. He knew she was coming. She had told him she would pick him up. Why did he look like he wasn’t expecting her?

"Astrid, you didn’t forget you have a schedule today, did you?" she asked, a hint of teasing in her voice.

Before Astrid could answer, a voice came from somewhere behind him. "Aster, who is it?"

Then Ellis saw him. A tall, broad shouldered man with white hair and sharp golden eyes walked out of the kitchen. Wulfric de Lunaris, the prince himself, stood there looking at her with a pink apron hanging on his body.
