Chapter 2705: Chapter 2714: So It Was Steak
"How is it, Young Madam?" Scott Harris was more nervous than Baron Lawrence himself, and immediately asked her.
Just from the appearance of the dishes, Baron has improved more than a little from last time. But Scott still couldn’t guarantee the taste, as most of what Baron cooked was somewhat of a ’dark cuisine.’ Just looking at the dish doesn’t reflect its actual taste.
Enna Clark put down her spoon and gave a fair evaluation, "It’s not bad."
"Really?" Scott Harris looked somewhat incredulous, worried that Enna was deceiving him.
Enna was amused by his ’honest’ reaction, unable to imagine if Baron saw Scott like this, he might lose his temper, "Really. I’m not lying to you. If Mr. Harris doesn’t believe me, you can try it yourself. The taste is really not bad."
At least he didn’t mix up salt with sugar, sugar with salt, overall it’s a passing six out of ten.
Scott Harris looked at the bowl she handed over, waved his hands to refuse, "I’ll pass, Young Madam, you can take your time. Baron wants you to eat first, don’t wait for him."
"It’s okay, I’ll wait for him, anyway I’m not hungry yet." She felt embarrassed to tell Scott that she had eaten something else with Bobby in the afternoon. She was not only not hungry but quite full. Baron had prepared this surprise half a month in advance, and admitting she was already full outside wouldn’t show much appreciation, "Mr. Harris, you should really try it, the taste is quite good."
She invited eagerly, but Scott still didn’t intend to eat. As the housekeeper, he was clear about his position, "Young Madam, please eat. I will go check if Baron has finished yet."
Seeing he truly wouldn’t eat, Enna had no choice but to let it go.
While Scott turned away, she quietly rubbed her stomach, silently praying that tonight her belly would give her some face, eat a bit more, and quickly digest the afternoon’s chicken skewers.
...
Half an hour later, a handsome man came out carrying two servings of fragrant steak.
The simple silver-gray casual wear he had on was somehow given a noble air by him, with wide shoulders, narrow waist, and long legs, plus a face capable of focusing all spotlights — this man was perfectly like walking hormones.
Enna had drunk a belly full of soup and finally finished the bowl of vegetables, tofu, and rice crackers soup.
Originally just six-tenths full, her stomach, combined with that bowl of soup, became eight-tenths full. Even though the steak he brought out was tantalizing, Enna was feeling a bit powerless.
"This is yours." Baron Lawrence walked over to her, first placing her portion in front of her, then pulling out the chair beside her, sitting down.
Scott Harris followed quietly and handed them the cutlery.
Enna took her knife and fork, "Thank you."
Soon after, a pair of commanding eyes locked onto her, "Try and see how it tastes."
Perhaps because he had cooked personally, his voice carried a raspy texture, making him appear particularly enticing.
"Okay." Enna picked up the knife and fork, cutting a small piece of steak, and gracefully tried the taste.
She initially thought the steak would taste similar to Scott Harris’s vegetables, tofu, and rice crackers soup — neither great nor awful, not spectacularly tasty nor particularly bad.
To her surprise, Baron Lawrence’s steak was even more delicious than she imagined! Tender and juicy, with a bite, the meat was springy, and the heat was controlled perfectly, comparable to what a Michelin Chef would prepare.
