Chapter 2222: Chapter 2266: News of Youran
What was inside the Storage Device was self-evident.
It was a World Embryo!
Jiang Fan grew increasingly curious about the background of the Mysterious Great Sage’s group. To think they would trade a World Embryo with the Dead Sound Pirates! Looking across the heavens on the eve of the dark tide’s arrival, which world would complain about having too many World Embryos and willingly give them away to outsiders? Aside from the Divine Capital and the Four Great Realms, no other realm would possibly trade away its World Embryo. And among the Four Great Realms, which great world was closest to this place? Nanqian!
He wondered if this group of wealthy and extraordinarily powerful experts were from Nanqian. What were they planning to do by procuring massive amounts of resources and purchasing dangerous Dead Souls? Perhaps it was truly as the Martial Vault had said—Nanqian was preparing for a war that would sweep across the heavens, intending to restore the Daqian Divine Kingdom. What he had seen today was merely the tip of the iceberg of Nanqian’s war preparations. In the rest of the Void, different levels of mobilization were likely still taking place. A layer of gloom clouded Jiang Fan’s heart. Once the war began, how would a micro-sized world like Central Earth survive? Could it manage to stay out of the conflict?
The Myriad Phenomena Great Sage accepted the Storage Device and cupped her fists. "The transaction is complete. We shall take our leave now!
"I hope we’ll have the chance to cooperate again."
The Mysterious Great Sage smiled profoundly. "We will, and very soon!"
She swept her sleeve. The void behind her rippled as an invisible black warship materialized out of thin air. In terms of size, it was only ten thousand feet long, nowhere near as massive as the Dead Sound Pirates’ Daqian warship. However, the various Divine Weapons equipped on it sent chills down Jiang Fan’s spine. The deck was outfitted with a full thousand top-grade Spiritual Artifact cannons! Hundreds of ports were opened on both sides of the hull. Within each pitch-black port, mysterious Divine Weapons were hidden in the dark.
Jiang Fan focused his gaze to peer into them, faintly discovering the silhouette of a dragon’s head in one of the ports! A Divine Weapon in the shape of a dragon’s head? He recognized it as the new model of Divine Weapon from the Martial Vault’s Divine Strategy City. A single shot from it possessed the might of the Early-stage Second Calamity Realm! He questioned why Nanqian’s warship would also have them, and why there were likely as many as a full hundred of them on board.
The Myriad Phenomena Great Sage also narrowed her eyes, traces of apprehension filling her gaze. "It really is you people.
"The foundation of the Divine Country you inherited is second only to the Divine Capital.
"Those who underestimate you are bound to suffer a massive loss."
She took out the Black Jade Horn and blew it. With a deafening rumble that seemed to crush heaven and earth, the colossal warship slowly departed. The Mysterious Great Sage also led her group and their supplies back to their own warship before issuing the order to set off.
"Leave three people at the helm. The rest of you, return to your cabins and stand by.
"Jian Wuming, rest for a day and come see me tomorrow."
Jiang Fan’s heart skipped a beat. He wondered if his Heaven Burial Saint Beast had aroused her suspicions. Maintaining his composure, he replied, "Yes, Senior!"
A short while later.
He settled into a cabin. Immediately, he took out Yuwei’s Life Space Pocket and released her. Looking at the old man in front of her, and then at the cramped environment, Yuwei guessed what was going to happen next. She turned her face away, her voice melodious and ethereal, as if untouched by the mundane world.
"Please don’t touch me."
Jiang Fan glanced at the Sealing Talisman pasted on her chest, crossed his legs, and sat down in front of her. "That’s fine. I won’t touch you, but answer my questions.
"Why were you captured by the Dead Sound Pirates?"
Yuwei furrowed her brows slightly, not understanding why he would care about this. After a moment of thought, she answered truthfully, "I was injured at the Sumeru Divine Prison and encountered by passing pirates."
"The Sumeru Divine Prison?" Jiang Fan’s eyes flashed with a subtle glint. "Why did you go there?"
Yuwei replied calmly, "I followed my husband to search for a Holy Body for Possession and re-cultivation."
He knew it!
The news of a Holy Body being in the Sumeru Divine Prison couldn’t be kept from the Tongyuan Realm Master after all. He had personally led people there to search for it. Speaking of which, Qing Jiu had also gone to the Sumeru Divine Prison. Jiang Fan wondered if that woman had successfully obtained the Holy Body.
He pressed further, "What happened at the Sumeru Divine Prison? Did you encounter the Divine Beast Taotie?"
Hm?
Yuwei looked at Jiang Fan in astonishment. She was surprised that this person knew so much about the Sumeru Divine Prison. Nodding gently, she said, "Yes. The Tongyuan Realm Master temporarily held it off while the rest of us fled for our lives, but we still couldn’t completely escape."
Jiang Fan recalled the fierce might of that Divine Beast, his heart still palpitating with lingering fear. Even the specially crafted cage that the Two Calamities Realm Nine Nether Demon Venerable couldn’t destroy had been left with clearly visible claw marks by the Taotie. The strength of its Physique was unimaginably terrifying. Yuwei was already extremely lucky not to have died by its hands.
Suddenly, Jiang Fan couldn’t help but re-examine Yuwei’s body. His scrutiny made her feel a wave of unease. "You promised not to touch me," she reminded him.
Jiang Fan continued observing her, his face showing disbelief. "When did you get a physical body?
"Furthermore, why does it look exactly like your original form?"
He only just realized that the Yuwei of the past was merely a Remnant Soul. The fact that she was now flesh and blood meant she had found a suitable body for Possession. The question was, why did her appearance look completely identical to how she used to be?
Yuwei looked at the old man before her in surprise, asking suspiciously, "Do we know each other?"
Her state as a Remnant Soul was something only people from the Hell Realm and a few from Central Earth knew about. How did this old man in front of her know so clearly?
Jiang Fan took off his mask.
Yuwei covered her red lips in shock, crying out, "It’s you?"
She simply couldn’t believe her eyes. To think she would actually see Dharma Seal’s only friend, Jiang Fan, in the distant Void far away from Central Earth. No wonder he was so respectful toward her. And no wonder he would ask why she had been captured.
Jiang Fan smiled slightly. "Long time no see, Senior Yuwei."
Yuwei took a step back and bowed gracefully, saying softly, "I dare not accept the title of Senior. Simply calling me by my name will do. Yuwei greets the Champion Marquis."
The Holy Decree of enfeoffment from the Daqian Divine Kingdom had spread throughout the heavens, so how could the Hell Realm not know about it? Gazing at the young face before her, she felt a wave of emotion. The young Human Clan member who once respectfully called her Senior was now the personally enfeoffed Champion Marquis of the Daqian Divine Kingdom. He was a monumental figure commanding Central Earth to reclaim the Dark World.
Jiang Fan replied, "You are too polite, Miss Yu Wei. Congratulations on reshaping your physical body."
Yuwei suddenly remembered and said, "I have your wife to thank for being able to reshape my physical body."
Huh?
Xu Youran?
Jiang Fan frowned. "What do you mean by that?"
Yuwei looked puzzled in return. "Your wife possesses a type of divine medicine. With only Essence Blood and a Remnant Soul, she can reconstruct a cultivator’s former physical body.
"You... didn’t know?"
Jiang Fan stood up in shock and suspicion. "Such a thing exists?"
He re-examined Yuwei’s body and found that apart from her Physique strength only being at the Divinity Transformation Realm, her flesh, blood, and internal organs were all completely real. This shared similarities with the Ancient Giant’s ability to be reborn from a single drop of blood. But since when did Xu Youran know such a bizarre technique? Where did she learn it from? The Hell Realm certainly did not have such bizarre methods!
Jiang Fan asked solemnly, "What kind of divine medicine is it?"
He wondered what exactly Xu Youran had encountered in the Hell Realm. It made even him unable to completely see through her now.
