Chapter 404 - 5: Sea of Undead Bones

Chapter 404: Chapter 5: Sea of Undead Bones

“Crush them!”

With Lynch’s command, the undead army immediately launched their assault.

The enormous wings of the high-flying Bone Dragon Trans unfolded to either side, its tall neck erect as a violent black flame rapidly gathered in its gaping maw.

Even from afar, one could sense the immense death energy contained within the flames, rendering the earlier Death Ray insignificant in comparison.

“Defend! Defend!”

The Dark Moon Church’s wizards were aghast, hurriedly waving their Magic Array to deploy the defensive network.

A large Elemental Shield quickly formed in the air, its patterns stretching lines across the sky before finally coalescing into a diamond-shaped polyhedron standing at the forefront.

The next moment, the Bone Dragon opened its mouth, and the black flames within erupted fiercely, crashing into the shield.

“Boom!”

A deafening explosion resounded as the ground quaked violently.

The foremost protective barrier trembled incessantly, ripples upon it flickering like boiling water.

The wizards hiding behind jerked their eyelids sharply; this Protective Magic Array was arranged by Felvin, a Witch Master from the Tower of Nature era. Though it hadn’t reached the Third Tier level, it definitely possessed mid to late-stage secret skill power.

Yet now, under the Breath of the Bone Dragon, it seemed on the verge of breaking.

“Crack!”

“Hiss!”

Before the wizards could recover from their shock, a mix of cracking bones and the hissing of leaking tracheas echoed as the undead army in front began their attack.

At this moment, the Magic Array’s power was concentrated on defending against the Bone Dragon, inevitably causing a deficiency in the protective force below. With obstacles missing, the undead army broke through the wizards’ line and entered within the Magic Array’s range.

“Stop them!”

“Quick, take out these undead!”

The wizards hurriedly commanded the Transformed Knights and Alchemy Magic Statues forward to intercept. If these creatures rushed in and started a killing spree, it would be a big problem.

But could they really stop them?

“Whizz, whizz, whizz!”

The sharp wind-breaking sound rang out as Skeleton Archers drew their bows to full and released, dense White Bone Arrows raining down like a pale shower, enveloping the space.

These Skeleton Archers were elite warriors in life, and after death, they were empowered by death’s strength. Their bone arrows, in terms of attack power, equaled the full strength of a Knight.

The barrage of arrows immediately turned the Transformed Knights into porcupines.

Even though their bodies had been modified and strengthened by the wizards and wouldn’t die easily, they suffered considerable injuries.

Then came the neighing of warhorses, as powerful Dead Spirits engulfed in fierce Soul Flames charged at high speed. They were the backbone of the undead legion, the Undead Knights.

These potent Death Spirits, with true Knight-level strength augmented by death’s power, surged forward like a dissolved flood, overwhelming everything.

In the next second—

“Thud, thud, thud!”

Violent thuds reverberated, flinging the Transformed Knights and their mounts into chaos, their freshly assembled formation instantly crushed.

Meanwhile, Skeleton Warriors, Zombies, and other dead spirits from behind seized the opportunity to follow, engaging in melee with the Transformed Knights.

If anything was more terrifying than confronting the dead spirits, it was undoubtedly close combat with them.

These immortal monsters feared neither pain nor death, regardless of the injuries they sustained; as long as their soul spark remained unextinguished, they continued to attack relentlessly.

Even the mighty Transformed Knights and Alchemy Magic Statues struggled against being ensnared by them.

More frighteningly, the Undead Knights who had just charged through the Transformed Knights returned, swinging their Cross Swords and wreaking havoc in the battle formation.

“Quick, kill them!”

“Don’t let the dead spirits come! Magic! Quickly cast magic!”

Seeing their front line about to collapse, the apprentices protected at the rear hurriedly drew their Magic Wands and recited spells to cast magic for support.

Dissolving Beam, Fireball, Death Lightning.

One spell after another descended from the sky, striking the forces of both sides and mercilessly reaping the units within.

Under such circumstances, precise strikes were beyond the apprentices’ ability, so they naturally opted for indiscriminate bombardment at the front, eliminating both undead and quickly wiping out Transformed Knights and Alchemy Magic Statues.

To the Transcendents, regardless of whether Transformed Knights or Alchemy Magic Statues, they were merely combat tools under their control, and as long as the line was held, losses mattered little.

Under the bombardment, Transformed Knights fell one by one, and Alchemy Magic Statues crumbled entirely. In just a few minutes, there were only a handful of Transformed Knights left, and the front line was clearly broken.

Fortunately, the charging dead spirits also got torn apart along with the Transformed Knights, and no standing dead spirit could be seen ahead, signaling a stabilized line.

Yet before the apprentices could celebrate…

“Snap!” A crisp snap of the fingers resonated at that moment.

Accompanying the snap, the earlier scene replayed itself.

All around, numerous black Magic Arrays emerged densely, innumerable.

Lightning crackled continuously from these arrays, creating Space Cracks, followed by the eerie cracking and hissing, as masses of Skeleton Zombies and other undead poured forth.

In mere moments, another undead army assembled before them, numbering several times more than before!

Such is the benefit of linking with the underground.

With the dungeon as a natural undead supply station here, no matter how many dead spirits were lost, Lynch could replenish them instantly.

After all,

to the billions of undead in the dungeon, these before them were insignificant.

He raised his hand, pointing forward.

The newly assembled undead army surged forward once more in a mighty charge.

The apprentices and wizards up front displayed expressions of despair.

For at this moment, there was hardly any defense line left before them.

On the brink of being slaughtered.

But just then, a vast Spiritual Field erupted from the central Tower, and simultaneously, a strange scene unfolded…
