Chapter 526: Excess Rewards
<Ding!>
<50,000 Excess levels detected…>
1. Ultimate Premium Perk Selection.
2. Premium Perk Upgrade.
3. Free Transcendent Race Change.
4. +25% Mastery to any ONE selected Law.
5. Any Tier 10 Physique, Bloodline, Ancient Weapon Art, or Forbidden Art.
“Aw… I thought I could choose whatever I wanted.” Rael pouted.
“Hm? What was that?” Vatyra asked, puzzled.
Rael shook his head. “Don’t mind me. I’m doing something right now.”
Of course, this wasn’t such a hard choice if he thought about it.
A Transcendent race was good, but it was something he could buy with money. The same went for the fifth option.
As for the fourth option, all he needed was time and practice. He could manipulate time to make it flow slower for himself, and then practice his laws there.
So in the end, he was only left with two serious choices.
Upgrade, or an Ultimate Premium Perk.
So far, I only gave the Premium Shop an upgrade. I haven’t used it much, but it’s good, Rael pondered. I have a lot of Premium Perks now, but…
He wanted an Ultimate Perk. Greed was good, but he wasn’t grinding monsters nearly as much as he expected. The only use he had for it was the money he got daily.
And at the same time, if he got something terrible here, then he would use the next token he would get from going up a Grade to upgrade something instead.
Maybe Premium Inheritance, or Premium Stat Conversion. Or maybe even Premium Law Imprint… I’ll decide when the time’s right.
And with that in mind, Rael made his choice.
Premium Genesis [Ultimate-Unique] – Create a new skill, class, or bloodline from nothing.
Premium Horizon [Ultimate-Unique] – Peer infinitely forward. Gain glimpses of every possible path or outcome available to you.
Premium World Conqueror [Ultimate-Unique] – Weigh your power against the world’s. If you are deemed powerful enough to destroy the world, you may completely occupy it. All dungeons, countries, and continents included.
Premium Immortality [Ultimate-Unique] – Buy infinite lifespan.
Premium Stat Overload [Ultimate-Unique] – Temporarily increase all stats by +10,000%. Depending on the usage, soul damage may be inflicted.
“…”
Immortality was something he needed so he could advance his regeneration. Extra stats were something he would love for fighting, especially in dire situations.
Then there was Genesis, where he could just whip up a random overpowered race, and Horizon, where he could see an infinite number of futures that would help him tremendously.
And then there’s World Conqueror… Rael put the Angel egg down on the ground and rubbed his temples.
This one’s basically calling out to me. It synergizes with all of my perks, and it’s something that I can really make great use of.
He really thought it would be a difficult choice, but not really. The perks were overpowered in their own right, and if he could, he would take all of them, especially Genesis and Immortality.
But I can’t. I must choose one… and I’ll choose this one.
“…”
Thoughts?
[Woulda probably chosen Premium Stat Overload so I could just hop in front of the strongest being in the universe and one-tap them,] Burger said. [Though your choice wasn’t that bad.]
[I would’ve picked that too,] Anna chimed in, as a loud bonk suddenly resounded.
[I told her to focus…] Gaia mumbled. [But in my genuine opinion, I believe your choice was right.]
You always agree with me. Rael sighed. Could you tell me what you really would have picked? I’m curious…
A brief moment of silence ensued until Gaia finally spoke:
[The possibility to see infinity is very powerful. Outcomes are always ever-changing, but by seeing so many futures, you could simply follow down the path of the one that guarantees the best outcome,] Gaia said genuinely. [But the reason I didn’t say anything was because I knew how you would respond.]
“Mhm…” Rael’s gaze turned distant.
I don’t like inevitability, and it’s such a burden… Rael said. It would undermine all my growth, and my life would feel dull… I would just be another cog in the wheel. Get full chapters from novęlfire.net
[Many would’ve chosen the safe option, including the me of the past.] Gaia giggled. [But that’s enough from me. I’ll go deal with Anna. You deal with your soon-to-be child, and skills. Don’t forget to inspect the skill you stole from Lucien. Bye~]
Just like that, she disappeared again.
Rael smiled and turned to the Premium Perk he had just gotten.
<Ding!>
<Ding!>
“…”
Well, that’s a little anticlimactic. Rael chuckled and decided to just check out the skill he had stolen from Lucien.
And it was safe to say he was left both confused and disappointed.
Power Gesture – Perception Mirage (Divine)
—Each gesture creates 5-15 fake copies of your action. Enemies cannot distinguish which is real. Illusions cannot deal direct damage, but any enemy that strikes a fake afterimage suffers 5% of their own attack damage as True Damage.
This is… It’s so simple? Rael frowned. How is something like this Divine-ranked?
He focused on the skill itself and figured out how it worked.
At its core, any kind of movement or skill would create a single afterimage, then this skill would process it into 5-15 fake afterimages.
It could be a sword swing or a simple dance. So long as he wanted the skill to work, it would.
It looks weak at a glance, but there aren’t any limits written. Does that mean I can fool even the strongest of people? Rael thought, turning toward Vatyra and flashing a bright smile.
“Hey… I’m about to cast a skill, pay close attention, okay?” Rael said.
Vatyra tilted her head, then nodded. “Sure. Better not try to burn my clothes off. I’ll kill you.”
“Haha…”
Rael didn’t do anything like that just yet.
Instead, he took a single step forward while also willing the skill to activate.
To his surprise, 8 transparent afterimages appeared in front of him, behind him, and basically everywhere that Vatyra could see. They began to mimic his movements perfectly.
At first, Vatyra didn’t say anything, but then she stood up and walked over to him.
Pushing aside the afterimages, she stood in front of him, her brow raised.
“Pretty neat trick. It might be helpful in combat if you use it right,” she said.
Rael sighed. “How long did it take you to find me?”
“Hmm… Less than a second,” Vatyra replied. “It’s not that hard to find since these weird clones of yours have lifeless expressions. If you wanna mix with them, either fix the skill or make a lifeless expression of your own.”
Rael nodded. Alright… That’s good. If I channel the skill through my heart, I should be able to change the expressions of the afterimages. That should do the trick.
And so, he tried again and again.
Thirty whole minutes passed with him doing this constantly and Vatyra acted as his teacher, until eventually, he got the result he wanted.
Vatyra flicked her finger at Rael, or rather, one of the afterimages that was slightly to his side.
In turn, that flick was reflected back onto her, causing her to let out a chuckle.
“That was good. You can definitely use it in combat now,” she praised. “Just make sure you’re actually fighting, and not dancing like a bimbo, yeah?”
“Will do.” Rael saluted inwardly.
In the end, while this skill was slightly underwhelming for a Divine-ranked skill, he could safely say it was the ultimate support skill.
After all, it managed to fool a Grade 9 being like Vatyra.
Good… What else is there left to do… Constellations, Dimensional Shops… Uhh… Laws? Rael pondered, trying to recall the many things he had set aside in the Depths.
Then there were also the things before the Depths and the events of Solenne that he had set aside for later.
One such thing was finding himself, the person who was playing Sketa Online under the username Quarterpounder69.
But as he was about to set some of his plans into motion, a sudden noise snapped him out of it.
