Capítulo 556: Follow Through?
(Four hours later…)
Rael stood outside his boutique, watering the plants and earning plenty of jealous stares from passing players.
“Tsk… If I had his figure, I would become an Olympian…”
“Yeah, with that mukbang influencer girlfriend of yours, you’d become a fatass in under a week.”
“S-Shut up!”
A faint smile tugged at Rael’s lips as he finished watering the last of the plants before leaning against the windowsill.
He glared at the players, and despite him not casting any kind of fear, they passed out on the spot, while those a bit further away began to run.
How anti-climactic, Rael thought with a sigh. It was now 9 P.M., and his other self was nowhere to be seen. He wasn’t online either, so it seemed like Rael would have to just give Altros enough money to fix his problems, even if that money amounted to several hundred billion WON.
It’s a real pity…
[You expect too much from him,] Gaia said. [He is, in essence, a regular human. Trashy, sure. But still human. He’s not a sociopath, nor is he someone who would not feel guilty about—]
<Ding!>
“…”
Rael chuckled. “You were saying?”
Gaia sighed. [Fine… I’ll admit my defeat this time. And you should stop by the Mind Realm more often. It’s nice having you around.]
A faint smile appeared on Rael’s face as he nodded.
“I’ll see you soon.”
With that, he replied to Altros, telling him about the boutique.
And within just five minutes, he saw Altros come running from the distance and stopping in front of Rael, completely exhausted.
“Gahh… Fuck running. Why’s my stamina as shit as it is in reality…”
Rael rolled his eyes and gestured inside the boutique, which they soon entered, sitting down at the table.
“So why’d you tell me to come here? I can’t really see how you’re going to help me. Pep talk only works on me when it comes to gambling. Shit like murder doesn’t really rub me the same way,” Altros asked.
“I’ll be helping you from inside your mind,” Rael replied, crossing his legs.
“Eh… You’ll do what?” Altros blinked. “You planning on giving me some charm? Oh! Right, the game chat. You can chat with me while I’m out there. Smart.”
Rael shook his head, and without wasting another second, channeled his Eternal Marionette skill at full capacity. That included using all of his DTP, which would ensure his success. The source of this content ɪs novel{f}ire.net
And when the skill had fully dissolved and he could control it however he wished, he focused on Altros.
His vision darkened, but not even a second later, he saw himself through Altros’s eyes. He was slumped over the table and defenseless.
But not for long, as his shadow flickered, and then, his hand twitched. Just like that, Rael’s body began to move on its own, but the one in charge wasn’t him. It was Anna.
“Uhh… Did you just have a seizure?” Altros asked.
Anna didn’t reply. He had already given her the rundown of the plan, so all she needed to do was protect his body.
As for Rael, he felt a great amount of control over the DTP he had used to enter Altros’s body. And using that DTP, Rael anchored himself to Altros’s mind, all the while Altros had no clue what was happening.
That was until Anna, in Rael’s body, gave the final instructions.
“Log out.”
“Mm… Can I at least get some money for a cab? It’s like a forty-minute walk from the gaming café to that brothel you mentioned,” Altros pleaded, rubbing the back of his neck.
“…”
Anna stared at him for a few seconds, as if he were an idiot.
“Then run.”
Altros nearly fell over at her statement. She wasn’t really wrong though.
“Fine… See you in a bit, I guess. I’ll send you a text in a sec.”
With those words, Altros pressed a few buttons in his status screen, and after just a few moments…

It all went dark, and it stayed that way for an uncomfortable amount of time. Rael was starting to think it wouldn’t work, but then he felt his DTP slowly begin to drain. He had twenty-four hours at most before he would be sent back to his own body.
But for the time being, when his vision returned, he found himself staring through the eyes of Altros, who climbed out of the gaming café’s virtual pod, and while grumbling, walked up to the receptionist.
Yet right as he was about to leave, he heard a cough from behind him.
“Planning on leaving without even paying tribute?”
“Shit…” Altros froze, and without turning around, he ran straight out of the gaming café and into an alleyway, immediately meeting a dead end.
Unluckily, the person who had called out to him followed along, but he wasn’t alone. Alongside him were two thugs holding steel bats and walking slowly toward Altros.
“You know, Rael. Had you shut the fuck up and given us the money the other day, we wouldn’t have had to have this conversation. Fucking bastard goes ahead and sells his apartment without giving us a cut. Tsk…”
The man looked like any ordinary thug. Fat, ugly, and probably had daddy issues.
Still, to Altros, who was cornered and defenseless, he looked like someone who was about to kill him.
“Come on, man… I told you why I needed that money,” Altros pleaded.
“For your sister?” The thug scoffed. “Who cares about that little bitch anyway? It’s not like she’s waking up any time soon. On the other hand, look at us! We’re starving here, you bastard.”
Altros’s eyes widened in rage as he ran forward and threw a punch, but before it could connect, the man grinned and kicked him away with barely any effort.
“GAHHHH!”
He slammed against the alleyway wall, letting out a gasp and a painful scream. His ankle was broken, and he was on the verge of losing consciousness.
“Y-You fucking bastard!” Altros screamed. “I swear if I—”
“You’ve had plenty of time to pay back your debt,” the thug interrupted. “Now since I’m such a nice guy and all, I’ll let it slide. Let’s see here… Your apartment cost quite a lot, and so should your kidney. You have two, and you only need one to survive, so it all works out, right?”
He walked up to Altros and crouched down, grabbing Altros by the hair.
“Let’s go to that hospital of yours where your sister is. Just say you want to make a donation for her well-being. I’m sure the director would understand…” The man trailed off, his grin widening even further.
“After all… Father was always very caring of me.”
Altros groaned, but before he could attempt to stand up or do anything to fend himself off, his body suddenly froze.
His expression calmed down, and then, despite his ankle being broken, Altros stood up without trouble.
He adjusted his clothes, cracked his back, and after a good ol’ stretch, Altros turned to the three thugs, his gaze lingering on the man who had just punched him in particular.
A faint smile appeared on Altros’s face, and in a cold voice, he finally spoke:
“Three people and only two bats. It’s a pity, but I won’t be able to accommodate someone’s ass tonight. Apologies in advance.”
