“I see…”
That made sense.
But it was also a little bit worrisome that Lucien could affect even Anna, who had been absorbed by Rael.
Though… Rael couldn’t really be sure just what Lucien was thinking, since even after all this time, he hadn’t made a move.
He expected him to move when he launched several dozen planet destroyers onto the Divine Realm. But clearly, that wasn’t enough to tickle his anger gene.
Either way, Rael nodded at Anna and said:
“I might be able to get through to her if I kill her. He only managed to alter her memories when she was dead, right?”
Anna nodded, and so Rael continued.
“Great. In that case, I’ll try to kill her the next time I see her. As for you… how have you been?”
She tilted her head slightly.
“I’m healthy, and I’ve become a tad bit more powerful since last time. I believe I might even be able to borrow a portion of your power without disrupting you.”
The moment she said those words, she furrowed her brows and lowered her head.
“I’m doing good.”
Gaia trained her well.
Really well, actually.
“You can stick around here if you want. I’m going to check up on Gaia for a bit.”
Anna froze.
“Can I watch a movie?”
“Mm?”
He had actually never allowed her to do so, but in his defense, Rael never knew she was interested.
“Do you know where the theater room is?”
She nodded repeatedly.
Seeing that, Rael let out a sigh and nodded at her.
“Go for it. You don’t have to ask me about such things.”
In the next instant, Anna vanished. He could feel her presence in the theater room, and clearly, judging by how fast she was typing in movie names, Anna was especially eager to watch something.
It was neat to see someone without emotions actually develop some semblance of interest in this kind of stuff. It was obviously silly, but more wholesome than silly, kind of.
Chuckling to himself, Rael went back into his room, spotting Gaia. She had lain down on his bed and was just staring at the ceiling. Rael thought of calling out to her, but he realized that she had some sort of mana field surrounding her.
Teasing her was also not really an option, since Rael felt like if he were to approach that field, she’d be able to kill him in a heartbeat, even if unintentionally.
Scary~
So instead, Rael just waited for a few more minutes, until finally, Gaia’s eyes landed on him as she sat up. She adjusted her clothes slightly, and after wiping the sweat off her forehead, she nodded at him.
“It isn’t looking so good.”
“Why?”
She let out a sigh.
“It turns out the Divine Realm you had destroyed wasn’t actually the Divine Realm. Sure, it housed a few beings, and even angels, but from what I’m seeing, they had relocated the actual Divine Realm much, much further away.”
Rael furrowed his brows.
“Should I go and bomb that place then?”
She shook her head instantly.
“No. Unlike the Divine Realm you had just attacked, the other one has a barrier that prevents people from teleporting in and out. To top it all off, I felt Lucien’s presence in that Divine Realm. It seems to me like he’s also decided to take you seriously.”
“I see…” Rael muttered, then rubbed his chin slightly.
It pissed him off greatly that he had wasted so much money on basically nothing. Heck, for a moment, he thought that he had actually just taken a big step forward.
But as it turns out, from minute one, the battle was a stalemate.
…Maybe not?
He did kill plenty of Ancient Primordials. If anything, the notifications from earlier still hadn’t stopped, so whoever he was fighting, they were still actively dying.
In a way, he had dealt a big hit, even if it wasn’t that big to Lucien.
So with that in mind, Rael just smiled and proceeded to listen to Gaia’s report of the whole situation. As it turned out, the Divine Realm she had visited just now seemed to house many more powerful Ancient Primordials.
According to her, all of them could match the current him in strength, and if they were to fight to the death, Rael would most likely lose.
He wasn’t sure if she had seen his memories, especially his training with Nyx on how to fight inside the Mirror Realm.
Either way, he chose to believe her, and if the enemies were as powerful as she had said… and considering the fact that Lucien already knew where he lived, then that meant he could teleport every single one of those beings over to Rael at a moment’s notice.
Basically, now he was racing against time.
And since that was the case…
“I think I’m going to head to the Far Lands now,” Rael said.
Gaia smiled.
“I thought you’d say that. I’ve already prepared myself. If you don’t mind, I’d like it if only the two of us went to the Far Lands.”
He shrugged. He didn’t mind it one bit. In fact, he was fine with leaving so many people behind, since that way, they’d be able to defend his world if the Ancient Primordials or anyone else came.
It was great.
“We could leave right away, I guess. Just one sec.”
With that, Rael turned to his status screen and opened his friend list.
He had added a new friend recently, and that friend was none other than Vatyra.
<Rael Sutekh: Sup. I’m going to head to the Far Lands now for some business. Take care of Uriel. Oh, and also, the Divine Realm was attacked, so make sure to keep one eye open when you get back.>
Rael closed the chat, and in the next instant, several messages came through, which soon burst into a spam.
Clearly, Vatyra was flustered by his nonchalant warning.
Heh.
<You have muted this chat for: 1 hour.>
That’s better.
“Alright, Gaia, are you ready?”
