Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 821 821: Possibilities

“You tell me… In all honesty, I’m feeling the same. You basically just told me I never existed in the first place, and I was just born because of some kind of bug,” Rael replied.

The Supreme Beast let out a sigh and formed an imaginary chair. Then he sat down and leaned back slightly.

“The possibility of such a world existing does seem plausible… Shit, your depression is rubbing off on me. I already told you that you’re your own being. You only have some of my memories, and hell, if you hadn’t realized it yet, 28 or so years is not that long. I once took a shit that lasted 10 years, so yeah.”

Rael let out a chuckle.

“I guess so. Anyways… What will you do now? Will you go after her, or will you help me defeat Lucien and the others?”

Rather than a question, it was more like a threat.

After all, even though Rael was weaker than the Supreme Beast, he would do everything in his power to beat the Supreme Beast’s ass, since he was the reason why this mess started in the first place.

Or I guess I was, but since everyone’s blaming him, he might as well chime in and help me out here.

Anyhow…

“I’ll see. I must send some of my constructs into that realm to scout it out,” the Supreme Beast replied.

At those words, Rael raised a brow.

“Speaking of, can you tell me why I can utilize my perks even without having them? It’s like I had a perk that would allow me to combine and steal skills. Now I can use that ability without the perk.”

The Supreme Beast let out a sigh.

“The system is nothing more than a helping mechanism. You already have all those perks inside your body, and they’re all unlocked. Every time you unlock a perk through the system, the system pretty much highlights that perk inside your body and gives you a partial reminder of how it works.”

“That in turn makes everything a little easier for you. As I already said, you’re a miracle, but also a curse for me. So in the end, screw off.”

With those words, the Supreme Beast snapped his fingers. In the next instant, Rael found himself tumbling through space. Color soon began to return, and in just a few seconds, he was back inside the throne room, lying on the ground surrounded by Alune and Gaia.

Once they saw him open his eyes, they exhaled relieved breaths.

“You were gone for a few minutes,” Gaia said. “I’m glad you’re okay… Though, your mind seems a lot sturdier than before. Did he tell you something?”

A faint smile appeared on his face.

“He told me a lot. But you don’t have to worry. I’m fine.”

Probably.

Then he turned to Alune.

“As for you, you should pester him a bit more. He’s a bit of a sulking bastard, but he doesn’t seem like a bad guy.”

“Isn’t he just you, though?” Alune asked.

Rael shook his head before pausing.

“Alune… I never asked you this, but what made you choose me? I mean, after I leveled up, you marked me. Where did that mark come from?”

“Hmm? Oh. I guess I don’t really know? I was looking around for some interesting humans inside of dungeons, and you just happened to be one of them,” she replied.

However, Rael could easily tell that what she had just said was nothing but a total lie. Clearly, someone had manipulated her.

And of course, once the Supreme Beast reappeared, he coughed once before saying:

“It was my doing as well. I requested her to help you out and then erased her memories of our interaction. Don’t mind it too much, since if I wasn’t there, you wouldn’t have been able to meet in the first place. Also, wasn’t the Depths a giant part of your growth, Rael?”

Rael rolled his eyes.

“Justifying bullshit with more bullshit seems like our motto. Anyhow, get dressed. I’ll buy you a shower and a hair trimmer. Fix that shitty beard of yours and go bald or something. We’re going straight to Melissa.”

He raised a brow.

“We are?”

“We are.”

Rael’s tone made it hard for the Supreme Beast to refuse. Obviously, he would, and he most definitely could. But then again, talking with Rael had opened his eyes. After all, it had been so long since he last held out hope for something.

And now… the possibility of his wife being alive in another realm made him feel like he should finally sharpen up.

“Give me a trimmer. Also, I’m not going bald.”

“Would you go bald for 1,000 Trell?” Rael offered.

The Supreme Beast’s brows twitched.

“Do you take me for some poor cheapskate? Who do you think invented the Trell currency? Bastard… I’m the richest person in the universe.”

Ah.

“In that case, as your descendant/inheritor, can I take all your money, sir?” Rael pleaded, prepared to bend the knee in respect.

However, the Supreme Beast didn’t seem that amused. Instead, he approached Rael and bonked him over the head.

“I told you who you are, so stop trying to cosplay as my descendant or something. You’re just making it weird.”

He turned his head slightly and added:

“Also, just because Melissa isn’t actually your sister doesn’t mean you can’t consider her as one. We’re both scumbags, but I’m the one who’s truly guilty here. You two can have a normal sibling relationship.”

Maybe.

Well, Rael would concern himself with that later.

For now…

“Since you said you’re so rich, I’ll take a loan for the shower and the trimmer. You might be detached from time, so I’ll let you know that each one costs around 5 trillion Trell. It’s not too much, considering groceries cost more, but—”

“Stop trying to scam me, you damn buffoon. Also, Alune, we should have a talk as well, since I believe I owe you that much.”
