Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 828 828: Easily Defeated

“Renoir…” Rael muttered.

But no matter what he said, it was clearly too late. After all, Anastasia had already summoned a single miniature golden sword in her hand, and not only that, she covered her body in an impenetrable barrier, one that even Rael seemed to struggle to glance past.

She had gotten much stronger than before, but even then, her current strength wasn’t really enough to deal with him.

Or so that was what Rael thought.

Instead, Anastasia kicked off the ground, her figure blurring as she reappeared in front of Renoir. Her fist began to glow fiercely, and before long, she struck Renoir across the face, sending him flying backward.

Rael’s eyes widened as he quickly used his mana to reduce the damage her punch did. Rather, he sent Renoir upward instead of into the buildings. The last thing he wanted was for the whole city to be destroyed because of their disagreement.

And clearly, Gaia knew that too, as her mana intertwined with Rael’s and made it easier for him to control Renoir’s body.

But despite the clean punch, he had suffered close to no damage. If anything, he had gotten a little bit of a bruise on his cheek, but that was about it.

And so, when he finally stopped hurtling through the sky and glanced down at Anastasia, he narrowed his eyes slightly.

For a moment, his mana decreased, but just then, the space in front of him cracked as a single construct emerged. It was a slim, completely white construct. It had a core inside of it that was similar to the Plasma Core, except that it was much purer and more powerful.

A shiver ran down Rael’s spine as he realized one crucial fact.

Maybe the Supreme Beast was never strong individually.

What if the only reason he was strong was because he had an army of immortal constructs behind him?

The moment Rael had that thought, the construct moved, crossing the distance between Anastasia and itself in the blink of an eye. Her eyes widened, and she just barely managed to cross her arms in time before the construct unleashed a flurry of punches on her, shattering her barriers and causing a bunch of red marks to spread across her body.

No matter how much she tried to fight back, it didn’t work. The construct was just that strong, and seeing Gaia’s grim expression, she seemed to realize Renoir was stronger than he appeared.

But then again, as the construct began battering Anastasia, not giving her even a chance to fight back, Rael knew that he had to step in.

Yet right as he was about to, the construct suddenly halted, then slashed the space in front of it. In the next instant, it jumped through, vanishing out of sight.

Rael was a little confused by what just happened, but Renoir’s words soon cleared it up.

“I’m not in the business of killing someone who doesn’t need to be killed. My constructs also share the same sentiment. Whatever grudge you have against me, figure it out after you get a little stronger.”

He scoffed.

“As it stands, you’re nothing but a weakling.”

As if that wasn’t enough to put Anastasia to shame, he suddenly snapped his fingers, causing the sky to split open and reveal thousands, if not tens of thousands, of constructs, all of which were as strong as the construct Anastasia had just fought against.

Then, with another snap, he closed the crack in the sky and arrived before Rael again.

“Not sure what that was about, but do talk to her later for me, would you?”

“…I’ll try to,” Rael replied. He glanced over at Anastasia, who seemed especially dejected, and he didn’t know how to cheer her up. Gaia wasn’t someone who’d be able to do so either, and as for Uriel and Vatyra… Maybe Uriel could help?

In the end though, Rael decided that he wouldn’t do anything. After all, she wasn’t some child. She was older than he was, and most definitely older than most people he knew. She had a grudge to settle, and this loss wouldn’t push her down that hard.

So with that in mind, Rael nodded at her and, without wasting another moment, grabbed Renoir and Gaia before teleporting back to his home.

There were a few people over. Notably, Nyzzara, Vatyra, and Uriel. All of them were watching some kind of movie in the home theatre.

Oh, Qiqi was there too.

As for Linlin and the other two, they seemed to be in Celestara. Not only that, she seemed to be working inside Evelyn’s ice cream shop, which had somehow turned really popular. In fact, most of the players and streamers were there, including a certain person Rael had talked to not long ago.

Karina was outside the ice cream shop as well. Her friends were likely in the outside world, since they didn’t have the same luxury as she did. After all, doing nothing and getting stronger was the best type of power-up.

Anyhow…

I’ll have to talk to her later, but for now, I need to do some reviews.

With those thoughts, Rael led both Renoir and Gaia into the living room, where Nyx casually sat on the sofa with her laptop in hand. The moment she spotted them, she gave them a nod.

“Took you a while. Anyways, Rael, come check this out.”

Rael approached her and sat down beside her. She pushed her laptop over to him, and he immediately began inspecting the information she had gathered. Everything was surprisingly neatly organized, so it was easy to go through.

She had made a list of planets that would be attacked, and even the approximate dates when that would happen. As if that wasn’t enough, she had also made some contingency plans and even a fake world that resembled the one they were currently on, scrambled to make it seem like the location hadn’t changed much.

In short, she had outdone herself.
